*When you realize just how different all the paper mario games from each other.*
Style change every game that's part of its selling point
Color splash and paper mario?? s
sir??? or am i wrong
Paper Mario N64 and Thousand Year Door are rather similar and Sticker Star and Color Splash are rather similar
Color Splash and Origami King aren’t that different.
yes
2020: Paper mario - Origami king
4 years later
2024: Paper mario - Printer quest
I can see that happening for some reason
Honest that would be cool. I can see "Invasion of the Body Snatchers" elements in the storylines.
G-Rex Studio

Maybe let's not give Nintendo ideas.
Paper Mario: The Printer of Infinity
Just look how much Paper Mario's model changed since the first game:
Paper Mario 64:
-thicc black outlining
-fattest of them all
-left hand isn't visible when idle
-shoes got shine
-mustache and back hair are smaller
-nose pointing upwards
-cap really flatenned
Todays's Paper Marios:
-no shine on shoes
-left hand visible when idle
-mustache and back hair are bigger
-reallu inflated cap
-nose pointing center
-thin black outlining
Honestly my favorite is super paper Mario 2007 just because I love the story and the gameplay
That one was bad though..

@@rodarte420 nah it was the best in terms of story and characters and the third best in terms of gameplay
@@m.ostrowski2031 the characters are boring geometric shapes
@@JSBDREAM-hu1eeand yet they are more creative than the recent entries
Mario’s mustache in Paper Mario in general always makes it look like he’s happy and smiling.
The older Paper Mario games sure could use remakes.
your wish is granted
SPEAKING OF REMAKE.
Speaking of that..
lol you predicted it
For me the perfect Paper Mario game would be one with Origami Kings graphics, TTYDs gameplay and the originals (64) atmosphere and music.
I find color splash asthetic more pleasing and the scenery more beautiful, but I agree with the rest
(tok is def a nice looking game and some elements look stunning but I feel that CS visual style is well better executed and everything blends in together so nicely)
I liked how Color Splash had this mystery based thing at the start with Peach and Toad arriving at Mario's. One of my favorite intros.
And the music that plays at Toad Town when you arrive there to head to Peach's Castle is great and I overall preferred it to the music that played after clearing it.
So much nostalgia for 2007. Definitely a favorite game growing up. Too bad I never finished it.
the first game holds up incredibly well and thousand year door is still a stunning game to look at. In my opinion it looks just as good today as it ever did. all of the games that followed have all looked quite good as well, with Origami King in particular taking the graphical style to new heights. Sticker Star, as with every other aspect of the game, is the weakest in the series. Taking the limitations of the 3DS out of the equation, it just does not have the same art style or charm as the other games. Im glad they've managed to get back on track with origami king. Its not a perfect game, but it is really good in its own right.
You need to have a Nintendo GameCube in order to play Paper Mario Thousand Year Door
@@roxannemiller383 or a wii console, or by very legal methods
I loved paper mario 64 when I was a kid.
Hey just for the record, every companion he ever had died because of some crucial juncture.
1. Tippi: super paper mario
2. Huey: color splash
3. Olivia: origami king
4. Kersti: sticker star
Paper Mario, Paper Mario TTYD, Super Paper Mario = The Story Trilogy
Sticker Star, Color Splash, Origami King = The Craft Trilogy
Paper Mario 7, 8, 9 = The Game Trilogy
Paper Mario's design in paper Mario's 64 is still by far the best one. It actually looks like he's wearing the shoes. Not having them looked taped over or like they put the shoes on the wrong layer
Ikr
It’s supposed to look like paper
notice how sticker star isn’t in the thumbnail
We dont talk about this abomination
Haha lol
shhh we don't talk about that disease.

I'm sure it's not that bad. I wanna play it for the first time and I bet it isn't as bad as most fans are because they only want cookie cutter games that are just like the original 2 games despite people saying that the 3 most recent games are cookie cutter so it makes no sense.
Taj James origami king is actually really good and it’s a HUGE improvement of sticker star and color splash
It would be super cool if Nintendo would make Paper Mario bundle all in one for Switch. For people who didn’t get to finish it or enjoy these stories in order.
Agree
Yeah i really want to play Color Splash and 64 but I don’t have wii u or N64 ;-;
I remember the first three games so vividly but the fact that I forgotten so much of Sticker Star and Color Splash that when I saw them again here compared with Origami King they look so gross lol
I forgot how slow Color Splash is compared to Origami King game play wise from entering battles, to moving, to hell just a excellent hammer attack taking forever to hit. Origami King did such a good job from straying away from what Sticker Star and Color Splash did as well as trying something new and better and sprinkling some of the old mechanics from the first 3 too that it gives me hope for the future of the series!
Sticker star and color splash didnt deserve hate although sticker star could use better plot And battle system
Super paper mario was amazing
I love how sticker star is left out of the thumbnail
Paper mario: Start of something new
TTYD: New mechanics and partners
SPM: Incredible story
SS: cartoony and wonderful graphics
CS: Funny humour
TOK: Beautiful open(ish) world
Now if only they combined every one of these games into a full on grand Paper Mario
And oragami king?

Mario and Luigi Paper Jam is NOT a Paper Mario game, it's more of a Mario and Luigi game.
Yep kinda a crossover but still a Mario Luigi game
Best Overworld Music : Super Paper Mario
Best Battle Music : DEFINITELY Color Splash
Best Victory Jingle : Thousand-Year Door

A: Paper Mario, Super Paper Mario

I like all the paper Mario games except for sticker star and color splash. Paper Mario 64 is my most favorite paper Mario game in my opinion.
2001: paper mario 64
2004: paper mario ttyd (the thousand year door)
2007: super paper mario
2012: paper mario sticker star
2016: paper mario color splash
2020: paper mario the origami king
I kinda realize that every three paper mario games is almost like a trilogy, each with its own specific theme. The way how i see it, the first three games was a story trilogy with the next three being more of a craft trilogy. For the story trilogy, each of the first three games had like its own themed story: the first was fantasy, the second was adventure, and the third was romance. For the craft trilogy, you all know how those go with stickers, colors, and origami. So I hope the next three games will have some kind of theme in my view
For Paper Mario, it’s paper. For Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, it’s a chapter book or just a book. For Super Paper Mario, it’s pixels, blobs, magic, and traditional 2D Mario.
Me: “So every Paper Mario game comes out every four years. Huh. Interesting.” (I think I’ve learned that from a comment.)
Super Paper Mario: *Releases in 2007 (3 years after The Thousand-Year Door)*
Me: “Wait, that’s illegal!” 😳
SPM was first for GCN but moved to Wii
Then sticker Star came out 5 years after
Atleast I'm Not The Only Person Who Realizes That
four years in AU and EU
64-TTYD: 4 years
TTYD-Super: 3 years
Super-Sticker Star: 5 years
Sticker Star-Color Splash: 4 years
Color Splash-Origami King: 4 years
Thanks For Making This!
I actually like Color Splash, being full of humor and many things to do, as the Rock Paper Siccors, trying to complete all the no painted areas, or find Luigi, for me, the best Paper Mario in my life (Man i´m just thinking how many ppl are going to critic this comment haha)
What do you think about origami King? You think it's good?
Its Ok Bro, I also love Color Splash (I just Like the Originals more)
And just Ignore people who will criticize you only because of your Opinion
But actually the hammer change to from the first paper mario to colour splash it in paper form but in origami king it kinda realistic and not paper form.
@@d00dy1 it's 3d.

Gotta admit, Sticker Star has outstanding music.
Same with origami king
@@RealAshPlaysGames Yeah that’s true, they both have completely different types of good music. It’s nice that it’s unique throughout the series
@@ItsCyclonic Yeah
I think they all kind of falter after the Gamecube one. They focus way too much on like, the entire existence of this paper universe, like the first one was about saving peach. the second one is about opening a secret treasure. The third one is literally a threat to the universe lol and then the series just keeps expanding on it's existential crisis. Paper can fold, and pencils write on paper and cardboard is made out of paper. Every iteration they move further away from the formula that made Paper Mario a masterpiece. A Mario RPG with a cute paper skin that explores a Good canon Mario universe.
I like how Super paper mario looks more hd than Color splash in the thumbnail
He's probably playing it in an Emulator using higher resolutions, but even in the Wii the game looks good
Oh hi Eli Guy. Didn’t expect to see you here! 😁

I think the visuals between color splash and origami king is the following:
Color splash is more "zoomed in" like the game does zoom out like
Origami king, you can see the whole background in like most situations..
Color splash has darker shades and sometimes lost opportunity to decorate some parts of the floor/walls/etc.. with extras origami king has brighter colors and ofc has more details in the world (duh its a switch game...) but somehow SOMEWAY it apparently runs at 30 fps.. which idc about tbh xd at least thats what i heard.. while color splash runs at 60 fps. all i have seen is footage xd im pretty sure im gonna realize MUCH MUCH more if i got to play this sometime in the next bastard millennium xD
I played both you don't realise the frames
@@adzri3345 are you saying that even though origami king is 30 fps it feels like 60 fps? If thats the case then thank you for the massive info!!! No really!
@@gapedandamazed6988 i doesnt feel clanky or laggy to me at least and if it is 30 fps its designed in such a way that it doesnt impact gameplay at all
Origami has its moments when it lags for a quick second or two at very few and random moments but it’s most likely because there’s too much clutter that happens so fast in the screen, say a ton of enemies die and a bunch of confetti and coins fly out. It’s nothing bad nor do I mind, I just find it quite funny how you can enjoy the game and randomly experience that haha almost like if it was slowed down on purpose for dramatic effect lol
@@adzri3345 huh... now that im playing it.. it feels as if its 60 fps! Same feeling i got when i played color splash! What if this game only renders 30 fps because there isnt much to render? Either that or the game CAN run at 60 fps but they capped it at 30 so they reduce studering... and all that time everyone is playing that game at half speed xD but i doubt that
I really hope that the next paper Mario they come out with has the same style as the 64 and TTYD.
@Pen Bashiro, MD or Super Paper Mario, it may not be a rpg but it is really good
Or super paper mario
@Pen Bashiro, MD it might happen
@Pen Bashiro, MD yeah but they could make a lot of money if they turn back to the classic rpg style again. We only have to wait for someone at nintendo to realise Tanabe is fucking up the series.

The Paper Mario series was a genius gesture of Nintendo to ever make. I ain't never seen so much worldbuilding elements in it that much as it goes on. There are three Paper Mario games I particularly love: the original Paper Mario game that started it all, Super Paper Mario, and Color Splash. I recently just watched a walkthrough gameplay of Origami King, and I liked it, so I'm gonna list it down as another favorite as well.

I recently played and finished Paper Mario Oragami King and although sure not as great, I actually loved it and had a blast. I’d like to try the others but I heard so much hate idk if I should bother. I tried one for the wii, something to do with stars? Or even attempt trying the other two?
The one of the Wii is about hearts lol. Just mentioning this so we mean the same game.
Imo it's an amazing game, but I'll agree the beginning is a bit weak. If you haven't been spoiled the story (probably the PM game with the most focus on story and lore) I do recommend a full playthrough.
