  • Welcome to another episode of Baked On My Boat!
In this episode, we are doing a little bit of boat work. We are replacing the Crazed, Leaking Skylight on Sunshine Forever (our 2002 Beneteau Oceanis 473 Clipper) and it was a bigger job than we expected!
We couldn't find a video on this process, so we thought we would make one. If you are about to tackle this job, let us know how you go!

Had mine done. It’s a weak link of the boat but it’s so nice not having it leak anymore.

Looks like it should be roughly the same process! Let us know how you go!

Good job, thank you for your time and advise. I will be performing the same task on my Beneteau 393 in a few months. Do you think a heat gun would have been a better solution in removing the old skylight?

Thanks! Let me know how you go. After the experience we had removing our skylight, I feel that a heat-gun would have been of little to no use (more than happy be proven wrong). Most of the original sealant had gone brittle and anything you see in the video that is still flexible is most likely remnants of other repairs.
Please keep us updated on how you go with your 393!

How thick is the glass? I’m thinking about tackling this myself.

The glass we used was 6mm. Good luck!
