Considering the engines cosworth have made for both the GM and the AM Valkyrie - cosworth are now back to being THE greatest engine supplier . Real shame we don’t see more cars running Cosworth engines
and MAHLE Powertrains for Zenvo Aurora...amd Nelson Racing...etc
Yeah some cheaper I-3 turbo engines with h shift transmissions would be pretty awesome for budget track day toys!
Imagine a hot hatch with a cosworth 4
Nobody mentions that they revolutionised F1 with Lotus or were instrumental in Fords GT40 foray.
The new Bugatti should have a cosworth engine (v16).
Nice hearing engine discussions on with a calm tone.
I will never own a Gordon Murray car, but I will always cherish them.
I'm 70, and grew up with the legendry Keith Cosworth & Mike Costin DF7 engine. As a, Brit I was so proud this engine dominated F1 for so many years.
Seeing red engine covers at 2:48 , on a Cosworth engine whilst being sat on pallets, reminds me of the old iconic photo of the Cosworth YB engines destined for Ford Sierra RS Cosworths. ☺️🔥
Whenever I see a new GMA video upload, I don’t think, I just watch and never get disappointed. True legends in the making
Not sure what is more impressive. The engine, or Gordon and Bruce's shirts.
0:46 Only 4 years ago !!!!!!!…… Wow that impresses me a lot
By the way even the car was developed really fast, I think this is really remarkable from GMA and COSWORTH to have been capable to reach this absolute level in such a short time, with not a prototype but a real and very well tested car ready for production !!
Imho this is the best proof of the ultimate level of knowledge and experience these two companies got.
I could listen to Bruce discuss engines for hours. Someone needs to do this.
It's one of my favourite stories: the development of this engine, and also the Valkyrie engine -
hitting all your targets with a 3-cylinder mule, and then scale up into magnificence!
What an amazing few minutes.. i wish we could have a longer video of these 2 chatting about the engine, it's a beast.
There's a long piece between them in the T50 videos
@@BestKiteboardingOfficial Thanks for the reply and the info.. looking now.
Love the Dario's soft speaking.
Shows professionalism. Nearly every car video on RUclips features the presenter shouting like a 5 year old.
He really is a perfect part of this whole project. Loved all of the videos he's been involved with.
@@ApexCypher_ because they're all trying to be clarkson
Stradman for example is loud as F...and Shmee always giggling like a girl...awful
Love the Harry Metcalfe and Joe Achilles...Mr JWW as well even tough sometimes it seems he doesnt listen to the person that talks....etc
@@alexluke84 dude you nailed it....
A great moment in motor heads history. Thank you from all of us
Cosworth made the greatest F1 Engine of all time, the DFV, now the best road engine. Just my opinion, but hard to argue against.
Here here
0:38 this looks more like insides of an really expensive Swiss watch than an engine... marvelous job Cosworth 👍
Yep, with the major manufacturers shying away from new pure ICE PUs and h shift transmissions, it's great to have companies like Cosworth which keep real driver car engines alive. Just keep providing hearts for a true analog driving experience! Hopefully they will have more ICE options for us mere mortals to plop into our track day rigs!
The Trifecta of engines, Honda, BMW and Cosworth!
To be fair, we can include Ferrari in that list. But beyond that...
2 men at the top of their field. The flowered shirts are the giveaway.
I absolutely love this… respect being paid between two of the greatest powerhouses in the automotive and racing worlds. Epic.
Mike and Keith would both be very proud of this motor I'm sure.
I know for certain that performance wise Cosworth have surpassed Ferrari and Porsche in the engine game. No one in the industry has ever dared to make not one, but TWO generations of V12s with completely different architecture back to back this soon. Can you believe the T50S engine makes 770 HP all naturally aspirated?
That cascade of gears is pure poetry!⚙⚙❤
Quella cascata di ingranaggi è pura poesia! ❤⚙
I completely forgot that this was a Cosworth engine. This is wonderful.
Having followed this GM legacy for ever. I am confident that this is a cubbyhole of delightful destiny that will be remembered forever as the best road car ever. One more ever by GM!
LEGENDARY!
I’ve never been an F1 fan, but been a huge fan of Gordon for a few years now. And I’ve never wanted to be insanely rich enough to afford any certain car before the T.50
Love the cams driven by gears
The sound of this car's engine is like music!💫🎼🎶
I own a Caterham equipped with a Cosworth BD engine, and I take great pride in that.💞
The t-50 came out in 2023 and in development for about 4 years . Gordan's company is very young but his car lineup is the best in the world
You're a genius Gordon. Hopefully one day i will own one of your cars especially with a Cosworth engine. Thank you.
1:00 Looks like a beautiful watch !!!
Thank you for fitting metal valve covers.
Akin to a Swiss timepiece, ie., Rube Goldberg vis-à-vis DC motored platforms.
An extraordinary piece this Cosworth is.
Simply amazing.
these need to be longer!
Amazed that the Sierra and Escort cosworths were last road cars with cosworth name partnered on the engine. I expect astons etc since had Coscast on them but not fully labelled partnerships. Nissan GTR engine was a published partnership. Suspect 100s more.
He conveniently forgot about the Scorpio V6 24V which also said cosworth on the engine cover.
Its amazing to me that the kind of expertise required to make a supercar does not even EXIST anywhere in the US car industry. They dont even have any idea how far ahead this kind of technology is.
legend in the making.
Literally what dreams are made of right here!
Lovely little video
I just think it would be so awsome if Cosworth was to take that next step to take all it's knowledge and start working on a Hydrogen fuelled Internal Combustion engine like, Toyota,, Suzuki, etc etc. Please; we don't want to lose that sound track and end up with boaring fin batteries and we definitely don't have to or want to.. Could provide that critical future for motorsoort in all it's forms. Set up a just giving site to kick it off. You'd get millions of supporters I'm sure..
Yesss more content! Keep it coming!!!
Can we get an ultra technical engineering presentation for us nerds?
The GMA is the best automotive brand at moment. T50s is the best all the time.
Seeing these engines, and hearing that sound at the end, where did F1 lose out ??
Masterpiece!
Legends!🫡
Boy that engine screaming is pure music
The internal combustions greatest hit this
The front of the engine has more gears than a Rolex. Unbelievable this could be developed so quickly.
It's going to be the last great road V12 ever built. When you really dig into it you can find how elegantly it's hit and overcome its targets. Watching all the videos and reading whatever information has made me feel like a child again watching such cars as the f40, mclaren f1, xj220, 959 ect get imagined and built.
Cannot congratulate GMA and cosworth enough.
I see they shop at the same place Jay Emm gets his shirts :)
Great video as always
I believe it is from the James May Collection.
What a room... gotta be close to a million dollars in V12’s? The ultimate create motor :)
Amazing
WOOOOOOOWWWWW😂😂❤❤ MATE!!! COSWORTH IS JUST ENGINE PORN!!!!😊😊😊
I wish Gordon makes a rocket car successor with the new R1 engine or a KTM 1390 engine or a motus v4.
Radical Hayabusa V8 with an actual rocket thruster from Space X attached.
2nd...
In line for one of those new Cossies!!!!
Amazing engine and partnership.
Probably a rhetorical question, but any chance us mere mortals could just buy the engine? 😂
If I remember a conversation correctly, some owners are buying engines for display. I think the carbon fibre stand is being redesigned. It’s amazing to see the engine on such a stand made from such thin tubes!
why such a short video?
0:38 so I just decided what kind of art I want I my house. 😍
❤
I'm interested in gordon Murray for his cars and his design and details, and I'm wondering what the dimensions of the engine are because Imagine the possibilities of engine swaps
These 2 definitely shop at the same store.
TELL YA WHAT THE COLOR OF THE ROCKER COVERS IS JUST GOOOOOOOORGOUS!!😂😂❤❤
British master class …. Never to be beaten…!
u cars have some of the worst most unreliable cars ever made. Mclaren got lucky with the f1
@@user-pl7lr5dn8q Cosworth made the most successful engine in the history of F1. When it comes to engines, these are the go-to guys.
my bad i thought he meant in general.
The closest I’ll ever get to driving one is in Forza and if it feels anything like reality omg it’s going to be an insane car.
Some chevy Vega 4 cylinder engines were cosworth.
🤩😍
Me: What's that noise? whoa it's a Gordon's
Son: Dad did you just say you saw your first "Gordon"? You know how that sounds?
Me: Yep, there's only 100 that'll be made and I've seen one
It takes men with ugly shirts to make beautiful engines and cars.
“Cosworth V12” “our best engine”
Brilliant work by Cosworth! Still surprised though by the 4 throttles, and not using ITBs…
4 throttles on road car, ITB on race version
@@rndmprsn3532 Yes, I know. But why? I think it was said that ITBs were ”hard to adjust”, for the road car, but that seems like a weak argument for what, 100 engines made by a specialist company like Cosworth…
Emissions probably had large impact on 4 throttle setup
They might get around that through the use of highly variable cam timing, i.e retain high speed/velocity where needed but also outright air volume needs
Cosworth also made the Aston Martin Valkyrie. I watched a video a while back about it and cosworth made the engine in quarters. So a 3cly engine for emissions testing and stuff so they probably did the same thing for this one.
Come on we want to hear that T.50s roar!
Good... But not nerdy enough. More detail please!
Mere standard pallets seem inadequate for what may be the best engine in history. Where's a good English cabinetmaker when you need one 😂
Would Like to know more about the technical Details...
I love NA engines I mean really
Bruce tried to beat Gordon on the shirt. Didn’t succeed.
The Scorpio V6 24V said cosworth on the engine cover.
You guys should really take the opportunity to redo the tiff nidell test drive video like when he first drove the F1.
My first learning of Cosworth was from the classic vid, Getaway in Stockholm, the night street racing video from the early internet days. The black Supra and Escort Cosworth ripping up the hwy, running from cops, it's epic stuff.
ruclips.net/video/B1PqYhSB71A/видео.html
I never understood why Ford stopped their Cosworth Models after their huge success? But then again who knows why Car Manufacturers do anything!
I think it was because cosworth was getting all the credit and glory for fords success and rightfully so but ford knew people were only into ford because of cosworth and they didnt like it.
Someone needs to put that engine in a Sierra 🙂
Didn't Audi use (or even own?) Cosworth a few years ago to breathe on their original RS4?
i guess the question is.... will this fit in my honda?
Hi Gordon Murray, can you please lend your T50 to the GDB youtube channel.
I'm always interested with what Gordon Murray does and I admire him for most of his achievements. But with knowing and working with him between 2002 and 2012 ish including the SLR project in which I was a significant part of the technical team, I'm still wondering about his failed ambition and project of the T25 that he planned to be the transport solution for London Olympics 2012! Will he deliver what he intended to produce back then for the mainstream or has his greed taken over?
eagle eye people can spot one of your next vehicles in the background at 1:50. lol from the looks of it a v12 suv like BMW X5
3rd
Ooh that could have been a lot longer film.
Engine building will be a lost art soon and that makes me sad.
Cosworth is literally heaven on earth for engine enthusiasts.
too short!
seems more like an emotional choice than a logical choice to go with Cosworth. Did they even look at other options? With the McLaren F1 I think they started out with a Honda engine and then switched to BMW at some time.
Gordon was then quite close to Rosche and got him onboard for the engine. How good was that one? Well, if the McLaren F1 BMW S70 engine made the same torque at 10000+ revs it would make the same power as the Valkyrie engine today.
Similarly Gordon also got Pete Weissman for the F1's gearbox. Weissman had also designed the gearbox for the legendary MP4/4 btw.
@@srinitaaigaura dont get it. As far as I know the McLaren F1 BMW engine didn't rev to 10000 revs
They wanted the best and were able to work with Cosworth. Cosworth had also been working on the Valkyrie's V12 around the same time.
@@sparky4878 I get the feeling they would have chosen Cosworth no matter what. For nostalgic reasons.
In F1, I remember the cars that did not perform well. Many of them had Cosworth engines.
I talked with some people in the business and said GMA just took over the Aston Martin Valkyrie V12 with some modification to make it their own. How much truth is in this?
end of Cosworth soon due to EV
