Kenner really was a fantastic company. Not only did they give you assembly instructions but would also illustrate how some parts could pop out in play and not to panic, just pop em back in. They also had fantastic service, you ever lost a part or something broke Kenner would send you replacements. They really did care! Until 1994 or so when that practice ended. My dad ran over my Bruce Wayne Custom Coupe accidentally, and my mother sent it to Kenner to be fixed. 2-3 weeks later my "fixed" coupe arrived. What a fantastic company!

such top notch quality. some RUclipsrs just sit in front of a camera and blab on an on without even a script. We appreciate your hard work- especially the topical pull clips from the cartoons. Like the great John Hammond: "spare no expense"!!

One of my favorite things about the Thunderhawk is how it embodies style of the 80s so much. The IROC Z, gullwing doors, even the paint scheme and deco is like a snapshot of 1985. Despite its relative modesty as a toy when compared to the likes of the Rhino, it's truly a centerpiece in any 80s toy collection. Nice work on this video- love the air battle you staged 😁.
Yes! I love that we've come full circle and can appreciate it for all of its 80s goodness. MASK, like the first 2 years of Transformers, is a time warp back to the gorgeous automotive art of the 80s. :D

Excellent video! Growing up, I actually enjoyed MASK more than I did Transformers of GI Joe.
A quick note Michael: The blasters/exhaust on the doors never had an automatic feature, it was always manual. I point this out because you made a comment on this. I don't want you to think that your Thunderhawk is broken in some way. To me, it looks like you bought it just yesterday!

Wow, I miss that Thunderhawk. I remember loving it and the Condor. My favorite memory of the Thunderhawk was knowing how much my younger brother liked it too. He liked Matt Trakker for the simple reason that his name was also Matt.
I always thought M.A.S.K. made some of the best looking vehicles with their attention to detail. I remember almost crying when I was a kid and I lost one of the bombs. Tough lesson learned
This car was the reason I purchased and still own a 1985 Camaro. Love it.

The Iroc is so devisive in car enthusiast circles. Some love and adore the car, while others deride it almost to the level of the Mustang Foxbody design.

Four years ago I bought a few MASK vehicles from my childhood to show my kids. This started the snowball to collect them all. Fast forward...kids weren’t impressed but I’m just as happy as I was as a child every time I look at my toys :) Great Video!
Oh, this one certainly brought a lot of memories! Thunder Hawk was the first MASK toy I got back in the day and without a doubt I would put it among the top 10 toys I ever owned as a kid. The VFX are amazing as it is usual with many of your videos. Excellent!

M.A.S.K. came out at an interesting time for me as I just turned into a teen and felt the peer pressure to stop playing with my Joe's and Transformers. Most of my friends at that point were on to girls and toys were now for kids, so nobody in my class really knew about M.A.S.K. It was the perfect guilty pleasure for me as a teen who was going through puberty but still wanting to play with action figures!

I love all of your videos so far Michael. I was fortunate enough as a kid to have 4 MASK vehicles. One of them was Thunderhawk. The laser cannons were always a manual pull out. Even from brand new. So don't worry about that feature. Keep up the awesome work
I can verify: you had to slide out those gully wing extensions manually. My brother had the Thunderhawk when we were kids.

Another top review! Nice one. I've just got back into collecting m.a.s.k (I foolishly sold my original collection 10 years ago) and I really appreciate the love you put into your reviews, I find them to be truly inspirational and they always put a smile on my face. Regarding Thunderhawk as a toy I always found it a bit disappointing as a child and personally think that Raven was a far superior car that turns into a plane but now as a 43 year old child my recently acquired Thunderhawk takes centre place in my m.a.s.k display.

There is only one thing that would have made M.A.S.K toys better. Made in G.I Joe scale. I remember my ThunderHawk took a beating ,loved that toy. Great Vid .
Yes! Maybe Hasbro will finally do this in the next few years. I guess Kenner went with the smaller scale because the price of the vehicles would have been too expensive being Joe scale with transforming gimmicks too.
Thunderhawk was the first MASK vehicle I picked up as a kid, alongside the Piranha - both long since gone, but they were the only first wave MASK vehicles I owned. I did have a couple of the later waves though, including the Bullet racing bike and Meteor jet, along with the Detonator Beetle that was part of the 4th wave that split into a bike and hovercraft.

A favorite toy which I never got during my childhood. We were very poor at that time. Still remember Mum would always bring me to the OG at Chinatown where I would spent my time just enjoying looking at it and imagine myself playing with it at home.

Just learned that if you get a BadCube Captain Huffy, a Fans Hobby Trailer for Archenemy, and reprolabels for the Archenemy Trailer, you could basically recreate the M.A.S.K. vehicle Outlaw.

Thunder hawk, even though a lot circulating on eBay, was quite hard to find in 1985. I remember searching 3 months after saving $17 bucks just to find it. Toys r us never had it in stock. Only condor and piranha

I didnt even remember that these existed when I watched the semi truck video, but this one struck a memory when I saw it, and the bike that turns into a helicopter. I remember playing with them, but I'm not sure where. A cousin maybe.

As Hasbro now owns M.A.S.K., I'd love to see a reboot to this, scaled down to the scale of the Diaclone Reboot or at the very least POTP scale (or maybe even Masterpiece) for cross-play with Transformers.

Sadly, the only M.A.S.K. vehivcle my parents could afford was Condor with Brad Turner. I still loved it and played it to death. If only my younger kid version had the foresight to take care of his toys (sigh!)

that's pretty cool they added seatbelts. despite the various G.I. Joe PSAs, other than the APC out of necessity, I'm not sure they had any other vehicles with seatbelts in the ARAH toyline.
Great Review! Thunderhawk is my first MASK vehicle and it is cool to have a sport car that can turn into a fighter jet. I thought with the recent IDW MASK reboot comics, Hasbro will at least remake Thunderhawk again for the collectors but I guess MASK will be a thing from the 80s. We can only dream...
I read MASK may be part of the "Shared Universe" of GI Joe, ROM, and Micronaughts. Then maybe we can finally get figures and vehicles compatible with more than one unique scale of toy line :-).
Mine had no seat-belts and bombs. And the stupid enlarged mask :(
But apart from that it is an awesome toy! I'd say it's one of the best in the whole M.A.S.K. lineup.
Edit: the bumper-issue could be solved with a little super-glue

The rear bumper not coming all the way down isn't uncommon. It was due to the tension in the spring as I found out a few years back on an online forum. It drove me insane when I had mine as a kid.
Yet again, a MASK review gets an instant "like" from me based on the opening alone :-) Now to watch the rest! (You're making a habit of this, my friend...)

My friends and I always put my our MASK characters in transformers JETFIRE and played Robotech
This was the one toy line I missed out on growing up... hoping the bring it back... maybe Netflix can revive the series!!!! #nerdmaste

mask is one of the few toys i wish would get a modern day reboot, as long as they tried to stick tot he original idea and not the one they tried to do for later mask toys, i think it would be a hit
