So I personally think this is a pretty cool battle. It has lots of cavalry, artillery, and critical moments. And yeah sure the players are not amazing, but the teams are equal in skill. So it makes for an interesting battle. And believe it or not, this was the best battle replay I got. The rest of the replays had players that made huge rookie mistakes, and lacked artillery. So if you guy have some good replays, with good players, huge scale, and artillery feel free to send them my way. Thanks, and I hope you enjoy this battle :D
Honestly think the French players were amazing and one of the Ottaman players did have the right ideas! Great replay, one of the better :D
Good replays: comebacks, unique tactics, non stop action; all in one battle - easy, check
Good players: Some of the best world has to offer, check
Huge scale: 3v3s and 4v4s on max funds, doesn't get much bigger than that, check
Artillery: Only in scenario battles, that aren't as high level as custom battles
I guess all that incredibely awesome moves and maneuvers players make in no-artillery battles will never be seen on this channel, shame you decided to put that criteria for Napoleon replays :(
At the end of the day it's your channel so you decide what to upload. If people will be looking for high level no artillery battles they'll just have to dig a little bit deeper for them.
Still think the battle you did on this map when you attacked up the hill was the most spectacular. An unorthodox strategy by your opponent that paid big dividends when they completed their wide flanking manoeuvre, and you had failed to take their hilltop artillery position.
Pixelated Apollo I agree this was one of the coolest battles in a while. I like it when players are aggressive

I remember playing a multiplayer match with a friend back when Empire: Total War was new. I took one of the middle eastern factions (forgot what it was, years ago) and picked like 80% pure melee units. The battle played itself only charging them in and watch him rage quit.

superb use of artillery, joy to watch that battle, great counter attack by the Ottomans but the french played it safe and used their cav and artillery to near perfection. good to c these kinds of battles.

This battle calls to mind a line I read from Duffy's book about the 18th century military experience. Here's what it said:

people don't like to talk about the quality of Islamic armies and instead like to only focus on the later technological decline.
Its ironic because in the 1500s and early 1600s the ottomans were the most dangerous nation overall.
While the portuguese and spanish had good fleets, the ottomans were too much on land due to army size and quality.

Artillery is overdone and inappropriate in most Atilla and Medieval battles but in Napoleonic it's a must. It was great to see it in this battle, especially the air bursts. Good one. Thanks for sharing.

Unfortunate the ottoman players made a lot of errors. Never forming square to receive a charge using a ranged cavalry unit as a melee unit. It didn't seem they had the same level of familiar the french player did.
It is funny that they kept the french names of each unity of Infantry, beaucause there is a simple translation for the Chasseurs : just "Hunters" ^^ Plus it's not easy for an English or American person to pronounce it correctly (no offense of course, as a French I'm sure my English is not perfect also). Same for Horses Hunters (chasseurs à cheval). Good video by the way, Hi from France ;-)
The Ottoman epire actually had the advantage as they spawned closer to the hill. But still they lost eventhough I actually thought that they played really good. The aggressive french in the begining saved france pretty good. LOVE U APOLLO, KEEP UP!

Loved this battle. the cavalary battle at the begining was just as a cavalary battle should be. Chaotic, but with a lot of strategy. And when that cavalary broke throught the enemy lines and charged that otoman artillery... That was decisive! If they had failed, the otomans would have artillery to counter theirs, AND they would have the hill. That was the moment when the french could say "Fine! Keep the hill! See how much it helps you against our cannons" and i like that. The turning point in the battle. Is good to see a battle so close-fought and with good strategy that still has a climax...

@Pixelated Apollo : The balance of power is heavely influenced by artillery. So in any match where artillery is allowed, the computer will Always favor the one with the most art left. You will see a clear difference in matches were artillery is not allowed, were the balance of power will remain balanced for like 75% of the battle, only when there is a clear difference in numbers the powerbalance will shift. You also need to check out the balance of power in the 4v4 historical Waterloo match. Britain an Prussia wil immediately start of with the computer saying "there is no hope, the battle is lost", simply because France has more artillery and thus the computer believes France is in a stronger position. The computer never counts in who has the better strategic position, which is in the Waterloo battle clearly in favor for the British and Prussians.

If I were France, I would get Old guard maybe two units, 4 units of young guard, some light foot 2 units, and 3 Units of 82nd Highlanders foot, 2 units of Dragoons, and 2 units of Light Howetzers

Balance of powers isnt glitched, that happens when art pops that barrage ability that increases rate of fire
They're called dromedary GUNNERS for a reason. They are meant to be more of a fast ranged unit, their melee sucks. Why do they keep trying to use them as normal cavalry?

It's defeat not deaft, deaft sounds like deaf but with a T on the end.
As you could probably guess.
I always find funny how ottomans armed with swords can trash any unit with bayonets. At least they could have given spears to the janissaries.
that makes sense though for a couple reasons.
Spears are better defensively but in a very close quarters situation the shortness of a sword makes it superior, thats why the romans used such small swords compared to other civilizations that used long swords or spears.
Furthermore the ottoman troops were more trained in melee which was useful up close, but it led to them becoming less useful overall since guns dominated the era.
Finally there is a major fear factor when you see a sword wiedling dude try to bring it down on your head. The sword's look and reputation can add a fear factor.
Thats why up close the sword wielding ottoman troops would beat the french, its just that most engagements wouldn't be melee so the ottomans were not as advanced.

I remember the first time I played this game on my old 2010 era PC (more like 2009 parts really) Gtx 260, it 750, 4 gigs of ram
I had to crank the particle effects way down to get a reasonable frame rate and play with medium army sizes. Especially since the game ran shitty until the later patches. However, not sure if you've added mods to increase the epicness but it looks fucking amazing, better than I ever thought it could.
Well, I think Pixie stole his computer from NASA. It's ridiculous how good it is.
