I'm planning on doing something similar to this so this confirms what I was thinking. In my case, I have gutters, but I have a really old one-story home and the sill plate and sheathing are a bit closer to the ground than I would like. To move water away from the foundation, there's a french drain going in with FDM fabric and large rock. Instead of putting dirt back on top of the burrito, I'm putting decorative stone to prevent water and mud from splash onto the side of the house.
I’m going to do something like this around my house since I’m missing some gutters and can’t get anyone out to put them up on my two story home. I don’t have fascia either and I just had my shingles replaced I would rather not screw straps on my shingles. Any thoughts on the correct drain methodology, I was thinking corrugated slotted pipe with rock and a sleeve like a burrito 😆can I get your professional thoughts on the correct drainage methods and products to use for this. Thank you in advance! 🙏🏼
I have only one side of my pole barn to run away . I have no gutter. Can I dig a trench and just put inch and a half stone and nothing else, I have good fal?
Thats how they always were built before drainage pipe was manufactured. I do like the pipe for a large void that rock doesn't create. The void moves air and drys the ground out after moving water during rain events.
Should be a longer video and cover what is under the grabble and how you pitch it all to drain away from foundation of structure

That's a really good idea! It would keep the Oklahoma red dirt from staining my white brick house.
👍

I'm gonna do this. I think the cobble will pretty.
👍
Thank you! I hate gutters...can we use a decorative Rock?
So you're saying either you install gutters and a french grain at the downspout or french drain around the entire structure.
Is this a more economical approach to gutters?

If I am the designer will design the concrete wall goes up 1ft to avoid the splash damage so now you can build a 9ft house with 8ft 4*2
Thank you.
That's a good idea.
What if I have a stone foundation?
Run gutters
what if there is no low lying area?

Is mulch ok to use?
No, it is not.
Better install gutters.
Are you worried about shingle debris clogging the corrugated pipe?

I strongly recommend gutters.

Why not just put on gutters?
Because he is the French Drain Man and not the Gutter Man!
Ya gotta clean out debris from your gutters every year. I think gutters look bad
Way more expensive
