- The friendship between Firestar and Onestar was quickly lost when Onestar was made leader. This new responsibility changed the way in which Onestar viewed ThunderClan.
Also, from 4:54-4:58, it is hard to hear exactly what Gladepaw says. He says, "As ridiculous as it sounds, no clan wants to be on the receiving end of help."

Except when cats did go to Windclan for help, he turned them away. No herbs for you.
As bad as it sounds, he had more to gain by refusing them herbs. Weakened and dead cats can't fight or defend borders. WindClan cats were forever labeled as the weakest Clan since Brokenstar was able to chase all of them out of their old forest territory, and they had to be brought back by ThunderClan cats. When he was Onewhisker, he was able to put aside resentment of that label just to make sure his Clan survived.
Being leader means that however his Clan is doing is seen as his complete fault, especially since no one of his own Clan is completely sure of his right to lead. Everyone's resentment of WindClan's weak reputation multiplies onto him, it becomes his fault. He couldn't secure his place as deputy/leader in Starlight without Firestar backing him up, which makes further dependence or acceptance of his help even worse. He doesn't need to worsen WindClan's reputation of being ThunderClan's lap dogs and can't stand without their help. Almost all conflict and proof of strength is shown by fighting, so he picked one. Unfortunately since ThunderClan is protagonist Clan they always win so he has no chance of beating them at full strength. Stealing prey and denying access to herbs would weaken them. Even though he could look down at his nose at ThunderClan cats coming to WindClan to help for once, he might be also denying them that help to snub them for always sticking their noses into other Clans' business.
I love your warriors videos, because when you state what your case is, you always have evidence and an explanation to back it up, and that is truly amazing to me! Your channel is amazing, I love your channel, and your art style, your videos are astounding and intriguing, and I love that you have a very logical point of view on most things. I happy that I can say that I support you in every way! :)

One star is an idiot. Tallstar made him leader to KEEP peace with thunderclap because he believed mudfur would break that peice. One star intentionally disobeyed his wish.

NarkeySea 101 it may be his wish but Don't forgot that he's a leader now and must make his own decisions. h doesn't have to be friendly to another clan if he feels that he's getting soft on himself. his own clanmates will see this. this is why all those past leaders from all clans have to think about their own clan safety first.

Shadowclan, aka: the shadow the hedgehogs of the forest, are immediately tells the reader :' OH hey! We're evil! ' but in actual fact are misunderstood like Slitherin.
Windclan often smart and are quite different to the rest of the clans and often don't get the exact recognition as they deserve. Exactly like Ravenclaw.
Riverclan are not exactly as cuddly as Hufflepuff however their similarities are in the fact that they are most commonly the butt of jokes. Riverclan: 'Getting too fat on fish ayy??' Hufflepuff: 'Every sentence said in Harry Potter that contains even the slightest hint to Hufflepuff.'

Sorry, I spuriously hate it when they give RiverClan the Hufflepuff trait. RiverClan cats are jerks most of the time but a lot of the time overlooked. Pure Ravenclaw.

Actually, this combined with the whole "Onestar put on an act of disliking Firestar because he needed to prove to his clan that he is loyal only to them" theory makes a lot of sense

When they don't know that it we necessary for gaining WindClan's trust. He has the feeling that he needs to prove himself to every cat in every Clan, and that's what I think drives him. Not hate or jealousy, because he's still the cat he used to be, but with a barbed wall towards the other Clans.
Or that Tallstar's decision was the be all end all best decision to make. It calls into question of why make Mudclaw deputy at all and not just Onewhisker, or someone else that's not as aggressive. Why to wait until he's on his deathbed to bother making a change, since beforehand all deputies had either retired,died,or became leader to leave their position, and there was nothing in the code about it.
I don't think Onestar's still the same deep down, but he did change because it was necessary due to his new position. What Tallstar was asking for him to do would just dig WindClan into a deeper hole, existing only at the sufferance of those oh so noble ThunderClan cats while the others snicker about them being the weakest Clan (and maybe get chased out again when winter comes around and prey is scarce).
As said in Tallstar’s Revenge, they say that WindClan is the best because they are closer to StarClan and are “protecting” the clans. When Onestar became leader he was trying to prove that Tallstar’s “weak” leadership was no more. He wanted to prove his clan was strong. Onestar has always been a... let’s just say... rabbit-brain. He only listens to his clan and no one else. If Tigerheartstar hadn’t listened to Alderheart, Juniperclaw would have gotten away with poisoning innocent SkyClan cats. The point is, Onestar doesn’t care about with HE wants. He only cares about what his clan thinks. He never really listened to other clans unless his deputy advised him to. He never really cared about his own needs. He was an... OK leader. Not my favorite. He could have improved much so. Harestar is a much better leader as he listens to others and isn’t a stubborn jerk like Onestar.
I think maybe Onestar had loved Sandstorm and was salty that there kits were related to Tigerstars since Brambleclaw and Squirrelflight had the kits but then they went back to being friwnds when Leafpool confessed and maybe if Squirrelflight had mated with Ashfur it could have been different?
I have an au, dunno if anyone else made this but its very likely where Mudclaw becomes leader because before tallstar got a vision of what onestar would do so he calls mudclaw into the den says the same thing he did to onestar and he also still would make ashfoot his deputy

The thing is when Greystripe and Fireheart brung back WindClan Onewhisker was the Only WindClan cat who still excepted fireheart and greystripe along with the rest of thunderClan, but becoming leader must have driven him to jealousy.

Still it kind of sad since Onestar leadership, I think WindClan attacked ThunderClan even more than ShadowClan, plus attacking TC defeats the purpose of why Tallstar made you leader, to keep piece between the two clans, not start conflict, plus think about it Onestar if Firestar have not brought TC to save you you will be driven out or killed by Mudclaw.

in fire and ice fireheart and GreyPelt (i think) helped windclan since they got driven out by shadow clan, if it wasn’t for them windclan would have most likely been gone forever since tallstar would most likely die and then all the other clan cats would die and or split up.

I feel like Windclan has also been the clan pushed around the most by the other clans and this could be a driving force as well. I’ve always seen Windclan as the scrawniest, weakest clan in the books, unfortunately. Perhaps Onestar didn’t just want to prove glory over Thunderclan but to prove glory to ALL the clans, showing off that that Windclan can beat the strongest clan

This also explains why windclan helped thunderclan in the badger attack. Windclan wanted to get even on the help list.

Because I can identify with thunderclan the most because I feel that I would be one of those leaders trying to help every clan. And I can see why they do it, by that they also establish not so much pride but power showing That they can spare warriors or prey or territory to give to other clans, because they are the superior clan, this doesn’t show as much pride but more power, showing that their clan is able to help because they do not need it, and very little do thunderclan ever ask for help from other clans, if they do it is when the threat is seevre to both clans and the other clan as well wishes to clear it or fix it. And yes thunderclan does win a lot more battles than any other clan, but they are known for “being the clan that helps everyone” and other clans see that as a bad thing because they think that helping other clans would make their clan weak, or more so getting help from other clans but if you think about it it can mean that in times of danger you are not afraid to ask for some help, and that is a good trait ina. Leader, you can also repay the favour later on, say helping them in a battle, showing that now the clan in need and you are now able to spare warriors prey or territory, so it’s not so much ‘if you ask for help your clan is weak’ or ‘if you give help to other clans you are disloyal arrogant or show no pride in your clans independacne’ and a lot of cats in the story connect this is firestar, who is one of the first leaders we see really wanting to help the other clans, with many instances like when he and graystripe fed Riverclan or when he ‘warned’ windclan about the attack Bluestar was planning because it wasn’t needed or even bringing windclan home and restoring skyclan, and there had been many times where thunderclan has helped clans in battle or given up territory to other clans. This does show some weakness but it triggers other clans causing them to fight, and as we know thunderclan is the superior clan, winning most battles, and if not they soon redeem them selves like when they loose sunningorcks in the old territory, they were always quick to regain it off Riverclan. So that is my reasoning why thunderclan is my favourite clan and some points behind their kindness and compassion.

Part of the allure of the first arch was the fact that Thunderclan didn't win every battle at first. They LOST Sunningrocks. We don't get this in later archs.
Not only do they not lose territory in battle but, if they ever are threatened with it, it is a HUGE deal that cannot happen. It's like their egos are tied to it NARRATIVELY - literally the story itself can't let it happen. Thunderclan can't lose. That sucks.
(Spoiler ahead for arch... uh... there's so many... uh... Lionblaze is a warrior?)
If anything, the one time they are put in that position their strength makes them all guilty and whatnot since Lionblaze (literal super strength) accidently kills Russetfur.
They're just SO 'the best', SO strong and powerful, that it's not even fair for them to fight (literally) since they just overpower everyone.
I want Shadowclan to kick their butts. I want Skyclan to kick their butts. I want WINDCLAN to kick their butts. I want them to be closer to Riverclan for once though. We don't get enough of them, even with this most recent arch.
Reintroduce the stakes of the other clans being equally strong and sometimes stronger than Thunderclan. Taking that away lowered the stakes drastically. Throw on the lack of danger from the elements and the environment (ex: leafbare is a whole different level in the first arch and kits die WAY more often, increasing the reality of raw survival) and we've got... a world that doesn't have any stakes. Solution? Now the spirit realm is the biggest threat!
Insert war against the dark forest cats literally raining down on the territories!
And... now what? Oh! The code is now the enemy! Insert philosophy wars!
Well... that's nice, but... nothing feels heavy anymore. Everything now is predictable and there is a HUGE buffer of safety.
Life is becoming kind of perfect for the clans, in general.
Where's the story in that?
Politics, emotions, relationship dynamics - all well and good, but we've lost the world that pulled our hearts and minds in so deeply.
I do miss the days where things felt so... I don't know. Risky? High risk?
Now everything is always fine and that is only occasionally disrupted by thematic deaths.
It feels wrong, though, to say that I miss the days kits froze in their nests and cats fell over dead from starvation. But that did make the clans, territories, and spirit realm have a way more engaging and heart-pounding realness!
I find it very ironic that onestar hates thunderclan talllstar made him leader to KEEP the friendship between the two clans.
