I wasn't trying to put you down just allowing you to know what would be is is very helpful to those of us that aren't too vehicle savvy. Im assuming that you're an ASE CERTIFIED MECHANIC, due to the shirt you're wearing while making the video. Now there are millions of us that aren't which is why we would need the small details that that video doesn't show. It wasn't to try and make you look bad. It'll only I believe help you in the future with the making of your tutorial videos. Thanks for acknowledging. 👍
Yes, I am! However I do have some content of removing the bumper on other vehicles, I’ll upload shortly! If you need any assistance I can help via the phone or email ! Your feedback is important to me, thank you.
Can u assist me with the name of the motor that's in the shutter please? And where u can find it? I have the assembly but it didn't came with the motor and harness 😢
Do you think the process you show for that SUV & the " Active grill shutter " problem would be the same behind my 2020 Jeep Cherokee bumper ? And also, I was told that there are situations where the check engine light would trigger off another thing such as in my case the " SRV 4WD " Light also came on & I haven't even used the 4WD on my vehicle yet. Is that so ?
When the check engine light is illuminated OR a fault is detected which triggers the engine light , in most cases it disables the traction and other functions as well. The active grill shutter will be similar in design!
Yes, the reason of why I'm so anal on this particular problem or item ( Active grill shutter replacement), is because I have a 2020 jeep cherokee that's obviously relatively NEW and a " CHECK ENGINE LIGHT appeared & the code that came up was ( U11E9 which is an Active grill shutter code ) , as I'm aware you know. That triggered off a SVC 4WD light. Now because of those codes especially the check engine light I'm NOT ABLE TO GET MY VEHICLE INSPECTED. IT WON'T PASS INSPECTION and I'm livid... My dealership is giving me the long run around and my vehicle needed to be INSPECTED this past July. So go figure.I have a cousin who's mechanically inclined. So I figured that if I get the right tutorial I'd be able to get my situation finally fixed.
Yes I see now! I hate that your problem isn’t even related to an emissions control item and it’s interfering with a state inspection, that’s very unfortunate! Especially with a fairly almost new car, I hate your experiencing that so early on.
@EAUTODR yeah I know mulitple people with this problem of being unable to pass state inspection, therefore they have to pay up or drive illegally. It's just a terrible design overall. Engineers basically tried to solve a very very minor thing while causing people to hemorrhage money and deal with headaches. These should be banned tbh, they create more trouble than they are worth.
I'm sorry but this is the 2nd site I saw doing the same " Active grill shutter replacement " &&&&& neither one of you took the time to show the whole process of YES THE REMOVAL OF THE BUMPER !!!!!! .... YES, that's important to us people that need to do the OVERALL PROCESS to know how to do it. You can put the video on quick mode but DO SHOW THE PROCESS.... THATS JUST LAZINESS & DEFEATS THE PURPOSE OF YOUR VIDEO.

Active grill shutter email me Matthew@eautodr.com your vin number
Is the electrical conector on the upper or lower grill? I didn't see any electrical connector on video.
Is actually connected to an actuator, and the actuator is connected to the grills by a assembly rod.

How do you know if its upper or lower
Troubleshooting would be the most accurate approach however, replace them both if one is faulty.
Hey Matthew , is this a common problem for the Equinox ?
I’ve seen this fault on a lot of newer vehicles!
