It was the Reckoning of a Thousand Souls that purified the Blade. it will make more sense if you read the Ashbringer Graphic Novel.
Uther the Lightbringer was perhaps the greatest paladin in Azeroth`s history. He was only defeated by the darkest weapon in Azeroth`s history, Frostmourne. Tirion Fordring bested the Lich King by wielding the greatest weapon against the undead, The Ashbringer, and because Tirion gathered the greatest heroes of the Horde and the Alliance. It`s a shame that Tirion disappeared from the WoW story.
Arthas, once the proud prince of Lorderon. Now the traitor and destroyer of Lorderon. And killer of many of his own people. I'd never thought he would destroy Lorderon, kill his own family including Uther ( he was considered Arthas's uncle) as well as his people, and become the Lich King

why do Arthas and Uther have Stormwind lions on their hammers in this animation? This all happend in time of kingdom of Lordaeron, and they both were from that kingdom and they have nothing in common with kingdom of Stormwind that represents humans today... There should be Lordaerons symbols on their hammers...
Uther was from Stormwind originally, or atleast he was an apprentice to Alonsus Faol, Uther fled north to Lordaeron after Stormwinds destruction in the 1st war.

he "created" the paladin "class" look it up, he was a priest and after seeing his church and all of his fellow priest get exterminated by the first Horde invasion ,a Church near darshire. He decided it was time to turn the light "into a weapon of righteousness"

They're the first 5 paladins: Uther the Lightbringer, Tirion Fordring, Turalyon (supreme commander of Alliance Expedition in Draenor in 2nd War), Gavinrad the Dire (he and Uhter fight with Arthas in undead campaign) and Saidan Dathrohan (killed by Balnazzar, who possess his corpse and became the Grand Crusader of Scarlet Crusade).

warcraft 3 reign of chaos came out on July 3rd 2002. Stars Wars Episode 2 came out on May 12 2002. Most high end games such as Warcraft 3 (was high end for the time) take longer to make then a high end moive but can still very. But they started to made about the sameish time. Star Wars did not steal from Blizzard and Blizzard did not steal from Star Wars. They Just happen to come up with the same story at the same.
For one of the first 5 to be blessed as a Paladin, Tirion should have at least brought something more decent to wear. I'm starting to think it's one of the factors that got him exiled other than helping some orc.
