- The BBC this morning have closed all of their SD services on satellite, marking their move to high-definition. I managed to capture BBC One, Two, News, CBBC and CBeebies. They all closed at 10:54am. The audio you are hearing is from the Audio Description track.

Insurance is there to protect you in HD SATELLITE UPGRADE
Ah Sweet 😁
DOT CO DOT UK
😂
This really makes me wonder what will happen to the regions that haven't yet upgraded their equipment to HD, I'm guessing they're now forced to do so.
Every single one has upgraded to HD, some shut down before the HD upgrade.
tbh the music whilst the "this service is now closed" is a bop
Music is Squids and Rainbows by Delicious Insects (Please don’t ask why it’s called that)
@@nidulaperera Oh damn thanks
@@saikoormike no problem 👍
Honestly, I'm surprised the SD channels were still on until today.
" well insureenec is there to protect you in H-hd satlite upgrade" 0:21
RIP SD 1936-2024
This is only on satellite TV.
SD was introduced in 2009.

"Insurance is there to protect you in HD SATELLITE UPGRADE" 💀!
funny to note that here in canada, we've had the ability to watch broadcasts in SD since 1952, even though we mostly watch in hd now. funny to note our SD is 480i, compared to 576i in europe
same goes for here in america, though some cable/satellite providers only have HD feeds available (e.g. spectrum)
@@EricE549All of 10 BBC SD channels has now closed and is no longer available
In france Terestrial TV switched off SDTV back in 2016
This was pretty dumb because
In Russia we have government-important SD channels provided for free since 2020
It would be better if they put effort into it, such as the Analogue shutdown.
imagine you're watching bbc one in peace and THEN THIS APPEARS ON YOUR SCREEN RUINING YOUR ENTERTAINMENT EXPERINIENCE💀💀
I like how the narrator sound so bored.
who would be using SD Satellite in 2024? unless it's nostalgia or you don't have a HD TV
The last programme to shown on BBC One SD was Rip Off Britain, it cut off at 10:54am
When i heard the link i heard doubleloo doubleloo doubleloo dot
"..." at the end, and then...
Hello. (video ends)
SD death is :( but gave us a :) moment in this video
awk come on they should have given us a better send off like the final analogue closedown
Looks like Satellite viewers need to upgrade to HD Satellite to continue watching The Traitors on Wednesday as well as Doctor Who, Eurovision, the Paris 2024 Olympics and the next series of Strictly.
And Dad's Army and Top of the Pops and Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps.
i respect the BBC for having the balls to do something that undoubtedly leaves rural areas out in the lurch. if this happened to any major broadcast channel in america, it'd be equivalent to turning the antenna signal off just to make more money from cable, and that'd piss off a whoooole lot of folks out there.
It’s only for satellite TV (Sky + Freesat). The antenna service (Freeview) and cable service (Virgin) are completely unaffected.
Moreover, the switch off doesn’t really affect anyone - only Sky satellite boxes from the early 2000s don’t support HD.
Why Did They Take It From Us?
Imagine You’re watching BBC One and you see this
Huh What happened to this tv
@@eMintCyanDon't worry you can watch BBC One in HD instead
@@BluesterLatinaStandbyMode Great idea
@@eMintCyan OK
GOODBYE BBC SD, does anybody care about you anymore?
No one cares about the BBC other than the branding community.
Very sad
