Just love kawasaki racing green, makes me feel young again, made me chuckle when you said with seat you need to rest your back side - I have same problem - but I'm at the age were it coincides with the wee brakes I need at my age.
It's a nice big bike, Derek. I actually rode the Nurburgring on my 1990 FJ1200, which is my biggest bike. I have done the North West 200 many times, but haven't managed the TT yet. The last time I was over to the Isle of Man was 2009 on my 1991 FZR600 Genesis. We tried to get a quick ride round the mountain course but it was thick fog! If you're an old git, I'm 63, so must be older than you, lol.😅
Glad you like the bike. Actually I should do what you did and visit the IoM when no major events are on. Just have to bear in mind that it's a lot sleepier then. You are older than me, but not much! 😉
Derek, we still have the ZX-14R available in the USA as of 2024. It couldn't pass Euro 5, but we don't go by that standard in the USA. Kawasaki decided to continue selling the bike in countries that don't use the Euro 5 pollution regs. I own a 2013 which has been a very good bike and has not given me any trouble at all. I've done some hop-up mods. on mine and it is very fast. ECU flashed, -1 front sprocket and Akrapovic exhaust slip-on mufflers. I don't even want an H2, the 14 is fast enough for an old man like me! Ride safe Kawi brother!
Nice to hear from you in the USA 😀 Indeed, I was a bit puzzled when I saw a picture proclaiming the 2024 model. Mind you, it looks awesome in its 40th Anniversary Edition colours 😵 The only faults I've had with mine have been due to external factors. Tbh I haven't done any speed mods to mine, as it's waaaay more than fast enough for UK roads - and my abilities! 😉
What a monster. It looks like it would take a bite out of you if you walked in front of it. Thanks for sharing Derek. New subscriber from the States. Cheers
I'd owned my gen 2 for just over 10 years. Best all rounder I've had.
I agree. And still looks as fresh as when I bought it, all those years ago! 😀

Ha, ha, I've always needed the regular pee breaks, as my bladder is peanut sized! 😉

Hi Derek, no need to worry about speeding you don't have a number plate.
If only failure to display a numberplate wasn't a thing! 😉
Yep lovely bike Derek
Nice of you to say 👍
Man, you have great taste in motorcycles...that is gorgeous. Nice track pics too...
What a nice compliment. Thank you! 👍

Awesome bikes mines a 2008 I’ve also got the panniers and top box. I replaced the springs front and rear with Hyperpro springs well worth it .
They are awesome! I'll have to look into your mod. 🤔
Great bike Derek , may I ask you what is the fastest you have been on a closed road.
Ha ha, not without my lawyer being present! 😉
Good answer 😂
Hi Derek, i thought the gen 2 was from 2012 on ?
Looks like you're right. 2008 to 2012 was just a minor update. Have updated the description to clarify. Cheers! 👍
