Tulo was probably the first non-Brave MLB player I called myself a fan of while growing up. Just such a fun dude to watch on the field no matter who your team was
Me being a Ranger fan he was still my favorite player I wore #2 because of him painful that when he was on Toronto they beat us in the playoffs twice but I wish they clutched up so at least he could’ve had a ring. Then after retirement he starts coaching at the University of Texas my favorite college program. Tulo is one of the goats.
Tulo!! Was special at a very young age! He loved baseball all his life!! His dad put in the work with him. I remember when he had a plastic bat and was 4 ish years old. His mom would tell him bed time and put him to bed. He never wanted to go because we would pitch to him for hours . Until his mom said bed time. He would sneak back out and we would pitch to him. I would say let me bat now. He would say no. Lol. Then I would say your going to learn how to field a baseball. He had a good are already for his age and was actrick. Even people that where at the beach, park and anywhere else that seen him throw. Said that little guy has a great arm!!
As a Rockies fan that was a painful year for sure. Everyone important ended up getting injured…except Tulo. He just kept on going. Then finally a little after the ASB, he gets a hip injury and ended up being out for the year after that. He was never the same again.
Tulo was such a badass that people forget this guy had a glove, rocket arm and a power bat. As a dodger fan I loved him play and thought it was cool he was a local player going to CSULB.
Tulo literally got me into baseball. Didn't care about baseball at all then I see this ESPN top 10 highlight of this 6 foot 4 shortstop hitting bombs and making slick infield plays. Then I fell in love with the Rox, then baseball. Now my favorite team just destroys my heart every year.
Tulo was an incredible player. Seeing the way he was let go in Colorado is just another reminder of how incompetent the Rockies front office has been for decades now at this point. The fans of that organization deserve better.
Player specific video ideas that I think could be cool: - Ryan Ludwick - Brandon Beachy **These two WERE mentioned in your forgotten players series** - Helton's HoF case (similar to the Mauer vid) - Relievers that have won, or gotten close to winning, the Cy Young Award - Just how good were Brandon Phillips and/or Andrelton Simmons defensively? - Joe Nathan - David Freese - Tyler Matzek (His comeback story and historic 2021 postseason is a cool topic, but I'm also a Braves fan, so I'm biased) - Dan Uggla's hitting streak (Other big RUclipsrs HAVE covered this however) - The Downfall of Josh Hamilton - CycloneBurnes made a comment suggesting it, and I think it's a great video idea. A deep dive into J.J. Hardy and his 2013 season specifically - Gemnist suggested a John Franco video. Another great closer that seems to be forgotten, even though he has 400+ saves Just some thoughts. If anyone else has ideas, go ahead and reply :) Thanks for the continuous entertainment and informative videos both here and at JM, Jolly!
Jason Kendall deserves a video, one of the best catchers in modern history yet he only got two votes on the ballot. Also funnily enough he has the exact same birthday as Derek Jeter (June 26, 1974)
Growing up I loved the way this guy played so much I was scared to say it to other ppl cause I’m a dodger fan and thought it was a crime to like other players but man this guy was one hell of a ball player one of my favorites ever
Since you’re a Mets fan, could you do a video on John Franco? He’s probably the most underrated closer ever: over 400 saves (fifth on the all-time leaderboard) with an ERA of 2.89, plus he was the Mets captain for four seasons.
We were best friends in elementary school. Guy was always a great ball player, and a multi sport athlete. No one was surprised that he made it, just more so that it was baseball. He was great at basketball and football as well.
He’s one of my favorite players. He was such a fun player to watch in the field. I always wanted to play shortstop in little league in part of his electric plays. I wish he was healthy.
I did an interesting stathead search about troy tulowitzki awhile back. Hes the only post integration shortstop to have over 15 dwar and a career ops+ over 115
I also grew up watching Tulowitzki, it's too bad he lost so much playing time. Nice video by the way, as always. I really like your scripts, they're very articulate and well-written. Keep up the good work!
Finally! Have wanted this video for so long. Being a life long Rockies fan there are no players closer to my heart than tulo. Him and lincecum are two of the most physically talented players I have ever seen. I know it's controversial but I think both all hof worthy. They don't have the career stats but have two of the best peaks we have ever seen.
Tulo was one of my favorite players who never played for the Rays solely due to the fact that he was college teammates with Evan Longoria. Also I'd love a Jason Kendall video
The Rockies had it all and never did much with it. It was very sad to witness. Blackmon, Tulo, Ubaldo, LeMahieu, Parra, Holliday, Arenado there are a lot of names that have could've really made something special in Denver.
Bro congrats on these vids, always loved the game but never realized how amazing the history really is with all this detail and statistics! Keep at it 🙏
He's like David Wright. Injuries ruined his Hall of Fame career and he may not be remembered in 100 years but he will be beloved by one fanbase forever.
The way you feel about Tulo is how I feel about Jimmy Rollins. Growing up a Phillies fan during that time period, I’m still frustrated with the lack of recognition Rollins received and still receives.
One comment--the minors aren't amateur ball, they're still professional baseball. Amateur baseball is usually more associated with high school, college, and unaffiliated non-pro ball
As a Dodger fan I became a huge Tulo fan and to hear the GOAT Vin Scully gush over him was amazing. Truly one of my favorite players not to be a Dodger
Sold him an slr camera when I worked at RC willey, he was a cool dude, u can tell he did it think he was famous and was surprised I recognized him but yea He should’ve had a longer career but def a legend tho
I think baseball needs a separate wing in the HOF dedicated to players like Tulo.. the ones who had peaks that showed they were on pace to be one of the best to ever do it, only to be sidelined by injuries. I don't know what it could be called.. But there are quite a few players who deserve some type of flowers for their achievements so they don't get forgotten 100 years from now.
Babe wake up jolly dropped the olive
"Babe come on, it's the 2nd time this week. You're just going to binge watch his channel afterwards"
Cringe

His season ending injury in 2014 robbed us of an all-time great season

He's from NorCal.
@@kenmei18 meant to say local player at Long Beach
boy this takes me back to the MLB 2K days when I played

I feel this in every inch of my soul. 😅
This is how I became a fan of the Rockies. So much talent mismanaged by this organization.
Even as a Cubs fan I was always a big fan of Tulo, but I honestly don't think I ever realized how good he really was.
As a jays and Tulo fan I was so excited when we got him. He’ll always be my favourite
Yikes lol
@@JustMeELC yikes?
As a Rockies fan I was sad to see him go :( Such a great player!
@@Ryouski Not in Toronto sadly

As a Rox fan, thank you 🙏 I want a winning team
i remember how massive it felt when toronto got him. every blue jays fan was so excited
I miss players like Tulo, I never saw him play other than for the later years but seeing his electric highlights makes me smile
5:24 one of the greatest fan catches of all time
Checked the comments immediately after I saw it. Insane dad catch!

Shawn green doesn’t have any videos about him in a jolly olive style so I think that could be nice
Jason Kendall deserves a video, one of the best catchers in modern history yet he only got two votes on the ballot. Also funnily enough he has the exact same birthday as Derek Jeter (June 26, 1974)
Tulo was one of a kind. Hell of a player, hell of a career.
Growing up I loved the way this guy played so much I was scared to say it to other ppl cause I’m a dodger fan and thought it was a crime to like other players but man this guy was one hell of a ball player one of my favorites ever

He could do about 5-10 videos easily on the 86 mets team. FRANCO Would be an interesting one for sur
We were best friends in elementary school. Guy was always a great ball player, and a multi sport athlete. No one was surprised that he made it, just more so that it was baseball. He was great at basketball and football as well.
Loved watching Tulo growing up! Definitely one of the best "what if" players ever
He’s one of my favorite players. He was such a fun player to watch in the field. I always wanted to play shortstop in little league in part of his electric plays. I wish he was healthy.
Tulo was my favorite non-reds player while he played he was one of the reasons I started playing baseball
Love getting to vids like these from baseball RUclipsrs like yourself early, appreciate all the work you do!
One of my favorite players outside my favorite team. TULOOOOO
I seriously love Tulo
I did an interesting stathead search about troy tulowitzki awhile back. Hes the only post integration shortstop to have over 15 dwar and a career ops+ over 115
Love the Helton hit and Tulo catch transition. Super smooth
As a blue jays fan who grew up around baseball Troy Jose and josh were my hero’s
I also grew up watching Tulowitzki, it's too bad he lost so much playing time. Nice video by the way, as always. I really like your scripts, they're very articulate and well-written. Keep up the good work!
Thank you for the love you give Rockies players. We have a way of burning bridges, and it's all people seem to focus on.
You’re a real one for putting your ads at the end of the videos instead of throwing them in the middle and totally ruining the flow
Great video man! Loved Tulo growing up.
Those 2015 Jays were what got me excited about baseball again
Ah Tulo. What could’ve been had the injuries not destroyed him, thanks Jolly!
this made me cry
man this video brought back some nostalgia
Troy was special
blue jays 2015 legend
That team was fun to watch, man. That entire postseason was wild.
Roflmao as a Jays fan Yikes No 🙄

I loved watching Troy back in the day
Love Tulo! He always had just the right balance of swag and professionalism.
Love how we’re around the same age, so we grew up liking the same players. Great video
Yes, I'm glad Jolly did a vid on TUUUUULOOO
Tulo was one of my favorite players who never played for the Rays solely due to the fact that he was college teammates with Evan Longoria. Also I'd love a Jason Kendall video
Cubs fan---Tulo is an iconic player.
Seen him play here in Tulsa with The Drillers.
Tulo a rockies legend that i have nothing but respect for, he was so underrated. he had it all offense defense and power- marlins fan
You should also consider doing an analysis of J.J. Hardy's 2013 season. All-Star, Gold Glove, Silver Slugger but no MVP votes
He had a WAR of 3.6, he really didn't deserve much in the way of MVP votes.
@@unkledoda420 and an ops+ of 99, yikes
JJ Hardy was solid but cmon bruh
I can’t wait for when (hopefully not soon) Jolly calls it a blitzball career and does a signature Jolly style video on his own career 😂
i'd love for a trevor plouffe video
The Rockies had it all and never did much with it. It was very sad to witness. Blackmon, Tulo, Ubaldo, LeMahieu, Parra, Holliday, Arenado there are a lot of names that have could've really made something special in Denver.
I'd love a video on Ubaldo Jiménez. He was one of those pitchers that was great and immediately just disappeared
he was a monster in MLB The Show
Hanley and Tulo were my favorite players especially at SS.
Tulo was such a good player man great vid Jolly just a few too many injuries
3:27 Ahhhh Game 163's, I'll miss those rare gems.
tulo was who i wanted to be when i grew up
He was a great, great player
Bro congrats on these vids, always loved the game but never realized how amazing the history really is with all this detail and statistics! Keep at it 🙏
That was a great vid man thanks!
In April of 07 (rookie year) he also got an unassisted triple play
He's like David Wright. Injuries ruined his Hall of Fame career and he may not be remembered in 100 years but he will be beloved by one fanbase forever.
I’m a simple man. Jolly drops a new video, I watch.
Still crazy to me that my two favorite players at the time tulo and longo played in college together
As a Rockies fan we had tulowitzki and arenado on the same team and couldn’t win. Then we had story and arenado and couldn’t win. PURE PAIN
I forgot prime Gonzalez And Blackmon
Great video, Jolly! Tulo was always one of my favorites growing up, and I always felt like he never got the reverence he deserved
Appreciate the time you put to making these man. Thank you
The way you feel about Tulo is how I feel about Jimmy Rollins. Growing up a Phillies fan during that time period, I’m still frustrated with the lack of recognition Rollins received and still receives.
Thank you for highlighting one of the most underspoken ballers in recent times
Troy is the reason for the short stops today amen
I love tulo , i shed a tear

As a Dodger fan I became a huge Tulo fan and to hear the GOAT Vin Scully gush over him was amazing. Truly one of my favorite players not to be a Dodger
Loved Tulo, I used to have his jersey even as a Yankee fan. You should make a Garrett Atkins video, I saw him in some clips and his fall off was crazy
Sold him an slr camera when I worked at RC willey, he was a cool dude, u can tell he did it think he was famous and was surprised I recognized him but yea He should’ve had a longer career but def a legend tho
If he’s healthy. He’s in the HOF, but it wasn’t in the cards
Tulo tulo tulo that was back in the good ol days
Great video Jolly, as usual. I was hoping against hope that he would have a career resurgence when he signed with the Yankees. It wasn't meant to be.
I miss that swing, all it had to do was connect. It felt like it could be a home run every time.
i was going thru my card collection and found his rookie card, this might be your best profile.
He was consistently my first round pick in fantasy baseball. When he was healthy I would win ships.
Excellent as always, Mr Jolly. Can you do a matt holliday video next? He earned every penny of his contract with the cardinals.
I second that vote for a Matt Holiday video.
As a Brewers guy I would love a Braun vid
Can we get a career retrospective of Paul Konerko?
I didn’t want to be sad on a Saturday, but I’m a Rockies fan so this is just normal for me
Wow. No five minute segment about his Yankee career? Based.
Tulo, 1st in all SS categories from 2009-2011
And the award goes to: Someone who plays for a team with lots of MLB journalists.
My dads freinds freind knows Troy, and I was lucky enough to meet him 😊
I wish MLB The Show would drop a Prime TT card.
Love you Jolly!

I remember the Tulo chant.
my second favorite non-Padres player of all time
Please do a rise and fall on Derek Lee he was one of my favorite players until injuries cut his career short
Best part of Saturday
Felix Hernandez video is much needed
All I am saying is any player that can lead the Rockies to the World Series deserves to be a hall of fame player
Seeing wander here now😅
Tulo was a beast, no doubt about it.
As a lifelong rockies fan, we have farmed great players and wasted their careers. I hate our owner so much
Rocco Baldelli deserves a video about him. Back when he and Carl Crawford were prime.
Seeing Jolly in Phil's gear made me funny
Growing up in Denver, I just cannot express how much everyone LOVED tulo, maybe even more than Helton tbh.
YES YES YES
