In case anyone's waiting for it, Tricube Tactics is out. Looks good, too, although I haven't had a chance to read the whole thing. Just the right level of crunch for me at the moment.
"If you have to print it on both sides, is it really one page?" is a fair question ;) The short answer is the first page is the "one-page RPG" (containing everything you need to run it) and the other page/s contain optional material (they're designed to be printed, and a sheet of paper has two sides, so it seemed a shame not to use the space). This is based on the One-Page RPG Jam guidelines, as the first Tricube Tales one-pager was my submission for the 2020 jam, and I've entered every year since!
@@asquirrelplays I would ironically attribute it to my kids. Once you have a bunch of them, you are forced to either become hyper efficient, or surrender your life 😄
It was fun to do, but really I should have started reaching out to people sooner instead of waiting till the week I was making the video. Didn't think that one through
I like seeing these sorts of follow-ups. I hear about so many crowdfunding campaigns and projects, but I often don't hear the post-mortem, as it were, about the product they did or didn't deliver! 🤠
I liked it! I think it's a terrific stepping stone for new players getting into the hobby to see what it's all about, but it also brings in some interesting mechanics too. I've got it on my to-do list to try some solo stuff with it because I think it would do well there.
Nice! Scotty says he's coming along nicely in his new horror setup for it, so that'll be something to keep an eye out for if you like horror. I'm personally not a big fan, BUT, I will be super excited to see what he comes up with for it.
I am! Getting into a little bit of everything on the creative end these days. Making up for lost time. I'll try not to eat all the nuts in one setting 😆
You know, that's a good possibility. Also got me thinking about all the mouse themed things out there. Redwall, Mouse Guard, Fievel Goes West, The Rescuers Down Under. Mice everywhere!
Raising and lowering terrain would be nice. They did at least add the multi-level structure stuff, which helps. Not sure if terrain manipulation is in the pipeline though, because that could get wonky with the grid based approach.
I seriously have no idea. I'm gonna guess the art style made me think "old", and then for whatever reason the little brain worm dug in and told me it was an ancient game and I just never questioned it. I did realize it fairly shortly after the video, so I've known for a good while. I've just been hiding in embarrassment and shame.
Always a fun time over at Squirrel Plays ... Making great progress on my EZD6 horror playset.
OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH more EZD6 goodies!

It sure is! I'm super excited to give it a try and do a video on it.
@asquirrelplays I look forward to seeing it.
11:23 Lol! That killed me! 😂
poor little guy was all tuckered out
@@asquirrelplays He needs some rest from all of the transitions.🤕
We love you, Squirrel Thanks for the shouout! And... PEOPLE NEED YOUR NUTS, MAN!
I may or may not be considering getting some actual artwork for it and bundling it up all nice and pretty 🤫
@@asquirrelplays awww it's coming❤️❤️

oh I completely agree. Trust me, I hate wasting paper, so using both sides definitely makes sense to me. I just wanted to be a nuisance.
Thanks for the shoutout Squirrel! 🐿️.
Always great to see new content from you. It gives me a chance to unwind from all the hectic RPG work 😉.
I just wanna know how you manage to get so much done

This was a good idea for a video. It's good to see where these games are headed.

3:40 I am so happy these people are not dead too. Also, where does the 🐿️ get this awesome 🐿️ music? I be dancin’ at the end! 🪩🕺
I've been a fan of funk music since I was a kid. Not that a whole lot got used in this video but I am surprised it took me so long to start using it.
1:24 I hear Scatman John, i upvote.
a man of class I see

When do I get to follow up on a TFE kickstarter/project/thing?
Loving some follow-ups!
just wait till I get to do the follow-ups on the follow-ups!
@@asquirrelplays looking forward to the follow-ups²

Unfortunately i dont have a party to play yet but your videos make me happy
that is the ultimate BBEG of the whole thing. Unfortunately you start out fighting it instead of waiting till the end
Adventurous is a really neat little game. I’m happy the 2.0 version is coming.

@@asquirrelplays I’m setting up a Hobby Lunch. Both that and Knave are on my radar.
Although I keep up with the OSR and NSR scene, it was here that I got to know the EzD6 game, which I still use today when I'm out and about.

i had no clue you were making ttrpg vids, nice! anyways, i just left some fancy nut mix in your bowl.

*bahoogle* good word😂
BAHOOGLES OF LINKS MY GOOD MAN
Maybe you were thinking of James Brian Jacques , author of the Redwall series who passed away in 2011.
You know, that's a good possibility. Also got me thinking about all the mouse themed things out there. Redwall, Mouse Guard, Fievel Goes West, The Rescuers Down Under. Mice everywhere!
I want to like RPG Stories… half the time I go to run it on my Mac it just…won’t load. And I need to be able to paint and raise/lower terrain.
Raising and lowering terrain would be nice. They did at least add the multi-level structure stuff, which helps. Not sure if terrain manipulation is in the pipeline though, because that could get wonky with the grid based approach.
@@asquirrelplays my ideal blend is DA and RPG Stories together…
The question is, if it isn’t in PPT, is it really a Squirrel project?
That's a fair question. But it STARTED in PPT, so that counts, right?
Excellent video!
First? first! coolio, So um... hows the weather?
not bad, actually! Got a little toasty yesterday but all in all it's been some good fall temperatures of late
No, I'm the scatman💩
