Goddamn that’s clean. Thank you for explaining this Chris. That also explains the unevenness of the wishbone. I did not know this. And it’s something you would easily glance over. Great info.
Thanks for sharing this trick By the way I’m using your technique in splicing my speargun gun dyneema line and it works perfectly waiting for 1100 single roller speargun review
Brilliant :) " Don't be a sissy, stick your fingers on that melted cord' lol- been doing that since teens and windsurf inhaul/outhaul days, Excellent demo.👌
Coats would you consider doing it on ermes double roller head or Rob Allen notched drop barb? My ermes front rubber wishbone tends to fly forward ahead of top bracket but I guess I can try to shorten it even more...I though about doing a double front rubber wishbone but I'm a bit worried it might interfere with notch on the back... I though of polishing the top of the notches on my RA drop barb a bit so it has less surface area to hold the wishbone too as they have quite aggressive overhang If the rubbers for some reason are missloaded on improper notches the effect of shaft being whipped up the muzzle increase 10 folds xD I had a client that would load them other way around couse it was too inconvienent. 😂
With the angle of the Ermes roller muzzles rails and the std RA notch it is best to load on an uneven wishbone to reduce the shaft lifting at the muzzle. This should also negate the need to modify the notches.
What do you think about kicker bands for roller gun? Obviously it adds recoil mitigating the smoothness of the roller gun but it also adds a bit more power. is it worth it?
Hey Levgenii Kicker bands are a HUGE NO!!! If you setup your rollergun correctly then there is absolutely no need for a kicker band. Only adds unnecessary recoil. If you are wanting a 'powerful' setup, opt for the 16mm bands and 7.5mm shaft loading with a load assist. Get this right and you will see that there is no need for any extra power.
@@CoatesmansSpearfishing thank you very much! I have wooden roller gun 70 cm, shaft 7mm 100 cm. Do you think 14 mm bands with 350-370 % would be ideal setup? One thing is my gun rollers are simple ones, with no bearings whatsoever. Thank you for your help!

Awesome video thanks Chris. Ive noticed that even with my new RA roller head (bought in 2019) the wishbone sits well above the spear/rail line. I can see it has small notches cut in similar to your previous video but they don't seem to actually stop the wishbone. Is it worth using an uneven double wishbone?
@@CoatesmansSpearfishing The standard 7.5 Notched shaft that comes with the RA Roller. I haven't noticed it shooting low in the past but am wondering if I have just been compensating for it perhaps.
shot chris, this has been a problem for years with notched spears and even some finned ones. Great simple solution that im sure many will find useful.
Some great practical info Chris, Cheers for sharing the experience, greatly appreciated. Dive Safe!

Is it possible to make a double uneven wishbone with a dyneema handle??

Possible to do this double staggered wishbone with a cheater loading hand loop?
Will have to put some thought to how to this easily. Not simple like the others.

No the Mannysubs are fine

Yes the uneven bridle will definitely eliminate any issues with the bridle riding up.
What shaft are you using? Notched or pinned / sharkfin?

Chris how would you make a wishbone with a handle for the hand load setups?
Do i need it with roballen roller head ?
I have noticed roballen roller head had the stopper noch
No you dont need the uneven wishbone on the RA muzzle. 👌
