    That’s correct, the whistle is from the bumper/grommet design like in the 2023 Prestige…Great final review👌Regarding one handed backhands, I found this racquet requires a purposeful swing and prefers spin over a flatter backhand, my one hander launched if I didn’t try to really rip it, Extreme Pro, Prestige Tour, Vcore 95, Pro Staff 97, Aero 98 and Speed Pro which I play with, all those don’t really demand me to hit my backhand ‘perfect’ like I felt the Gravity 98 did..forehands stayed down no problem and felt sensational

    Yes, and I love the sound. On top of that, upon ball contact within the relatively large sweet spot, it gives a satisfying “thump” that is very nice. And it feels good as well.

    From what I heard I agree this looks similar to the newer version of the speed mp, with good stability and feel but also quite hefty, powerful and lots of spin

    If you generate enough racquet head speed, any racquet will make a whistling sound. The last time I watched the UTR 9+ level when they hit the forehand, I could hear the "fzzz/wzz" sound before the racquet hit the ball. I have done it sometimes during practice, too, although I'm not at that level.

    • @tantennis

      It is different kind of whistling. Tried it and you’ll know what we’re talking about.

    A thin beam & low SW combo isn’t supposed to be powerful, but this one is. As Brandon asks at 8:23, what’s the secret sauce? You guys already pointed to the open string pattern. I’m wondering if another ingredient might be a high twist weight. Can you measure this on your copy?

    Probably one of the more in depth discussions of the Gravity 98. What are your thoughts on pairing the Gravity with something like Solinco Confidential to take some power out of it, lower the launch angle and generate more spin ?

    • @tantennis
      @tantennis  5 дней назад

      I am pretty sure it’s gonna work in terms of lowering the power and keep the balls in the court. And gravity has a pretty good connection to the ball so even with the dead feel of the confidential, I think it’s still gonna be acceptable.

    • @nakmuay5034
      @nakmuay5034 5 дней назад +1

      Confidential will not lower the launch angle

    • @OldManMidnight
      @OldManMidnight 5 дней назад

      @@nakmuay5034 compared to Restring Zero I think the launch angle will come down ever so slightly, at the very least it would put more revolutions on the ball to get it to dip more at the end of its flight

    • @slai..
      @slai.. 4 дня назад

      Played with it for an hour yesterday and i managed to adapt to the launch angle quite quickly, by making minor tweaks on my forehand. 1HBH was very very nice, consistently reaching the directions and spots i want.

    I play with the Extreme Tour (98) and the current V-Core 98...I have to put on stiff strings at 52 pounds since its a 16x19.
    For my Gravity Tour 100 (18x20), its not as string dependent and the perfect tension for me is 48#.
    I'm really looking forward to testing/buying the Gravity 98... hoping it will solve what the Gravity Tour 100 is missing at the net.

    • @jerome_morrow
      @jerome_morrow 5 дней назад +1

      Yonex racquets generally have better QC for weight and balance. However, their swingweights can also be all over the place. Best to buy from retailers with a spec measuring service. Or one that allows returns easily.

    • @miles2m
      @miles2m 5 дней назад

      Yonex QC might not be as good as people praise-or maybe I’m just ‘lucky.’ Out of 6 Yonex rackets I purchased, only one was on spec. The rest were way off. Three Ezone 98 rackets had strung swing weights between 305-308.
