I'm assuming that taking the whole drive shaft out then just replacing the boot is easier? And can u even just do the boot replacement? Thx Sue, 👍🏾 Keep rolling those videos out. 😝
So if I replace the whole driveshaft do I have to worry about marking anything or how I put the new driveshaft in since theres no balance? I dont want any vibrations. I'm just confused on that part.
we’re replacing a drive shaft on a 2001 Honda CRV AWD and the rear section is about 1/2 inch short (yes it’s in the correct direction) thank you for any advice
My u joint in the back snapped of and was caught by the support pieces .I wondering how I stop it from spinning do I just shove it into the transfer case area I do t want to break that too
What would cause the 2003 Element to shake while idling at a stop light, while I'm gear. I've checked the center carrier bearing and it seems secure -- definitely more secure than the one in this video.
+Sabroso Lopez Thanks for watching! Like Sue says in the video you only need to do that if you are putting that half back on. If you are replacing the entire thing then you do not need to mark it! 1aauto.com
Yes they're staked in, but you can buy replacements that have clips (clips fit on the insides of the sockets). We replaced the u-joints on '05 Element. Got them from theujointstore for $20 each, vs probably minimum $200 for a replacement driveshaft. Definitely more work, but if money is more important than your time, well you decide. There's a vid or 2 (search google or utube, it's for a CRV, but same technique).

Which side carry the axles tubes, the one with a small diameter goes towards the transmission or towards the differential

I have the same problem with the mid section what did you end up doing?
5:10 if you drive around with out the drive shaft and you’re replacing the whole unit but you’ve driven without it, does the orientation matter?
Great video, and will also work for the Gen 1 or 2000 CR-V as well.
Hey, what’s your thought on remanufactured drive shafts from Cardone or pay for new?

How long is the warranty for this part? It’s limited warranty but how many years exactly is that?
Should be the same for a 2008 Acura Mdx?
I searched drive shaft on your link and nothing comes up " not found"
Can you just replace the carrier bearing?
Would this be the same on an ‘09 Honda Pilot?
Nice job thanks for this video

+A&E Graham LLC Thank you for your question. If you wouldn't mind giving us your VIN# we would be happy to take a look for you.
Trying to understand the need to Mark the orientation of the shaft with the transfer case before removal? Isn't the assembly balanced as a unit?

This part from Honda is more expensive than a used car!
It would be nice just to replace the u joints and not the whole drive shaft ,I’m I wrong ?
more work because Honda propeller shaft is staked in with caps, no c clips holding the joints

🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥👍🥋🥋🥋
Honda sucks the engineers knew how to rip customer off it cost arm and leg to replace the whole thing instead of just the center shaft mount
