@@eastcoastexploring278 For those of you who have no understanding of renaissance fairs, large corporations run them. We merchants contract with each individual fair. We merchants build the shops and maintain them, but we are subject to quite a few rules made by the fair owners who own the land. In the case of the Virginia fair, the owners overextended themselves and had to sell the fair. They did something quite cool though. They built 5 gorgeous shops and set up a lease to own situation with 5 merchants. I was one of those 5, so I didn't have too much invested in my big, beautiful shop when it closed. I did very well at the Virginia fair. :) Good memories.
Sassy Sue it was in operation from 1996-1999 still beautiful considering how long it's been abandoned and besides the vandalism. Wonderful place to explore I may even go back in the winter when it isn't so overgrown to get more footage.
Twiggy manson aweome! i just saw parker productions explore-not as overgrown then. I'd definately go back! i can't believe the structures they put up. Someone had some money and a dream.
The first place I thought of was how many poisonous plants and ticks there must have been. You guys were in short sleeves, the girl was in leggings instead of jeans, and at least one of you wasn't wearing a hat. None of you were even wearing hiking gloves. How many ticks did you guys get? Any allergic reactions from the plants? One of the guys seemingly got stabbed with a rusty needle. Did he get Tetanus? I also only saw one of you guys in boots.
From about 13:30 to about 16:30, you were in MY shop! Let’s see if I can post a photo or two of what it looked like in its glory days.
That would be awesome I would love that ❤️

@@eastcoastexploring278 hmm. I can't seem to find a way to share photos here. I have 5 nice ones from when the fair was operational.
@@kamalasown9810 is there anyway you could send me a few pics of the Renaissance fair. I'm so interested in it's glory days.
I worked the fair about 1997. It was a nice property but not much of a fair.
I read it's abandoned because bad weather and swamp land. I also read George Washington's mother actually owned the land back in the day.
Where was this? I’d been years ago.
Fredericksburg VA
I used to sneak in there to go fishing in the pond. My cousin pulled a 9lb bass out of it.
Good find, I have heard and read of tons of people gettig caught here and yelled at
KitschyTravels when we went there was basically no one around to yell at us just other explorers thankfully
how long had this been abandoned? must have been a huge operation. what a beautiful location! sad that some feel the need to destroy things.
