Hey Rob, thanks for the video. I gotta say my favourite world whiskey is a ichiro’s malt and grainI can’t get enough of it. Bottles are so crushable. I just bought two more yesterday at discount for $75 each I did not enjoy the AO
Cadenhead 7 stars blended Scotch is an underdog that sourced from Wm Cadenheads' old stock which is Scotland's oldest independent bottler of whiskies, and the owner is the same owner of Springbank distillery.
I found it curious that you didn’t actually know the make up of the Achiros and therefore enjoyed it for what it is, but having the make up of the menagerie you were disappointed because the dominant whisky left you underwhelmed because you could not find the expected signatures of the others. Makes me think that a blind tasting would have taken out the expectation. Good review all the same thanks Rob.
I´m very unforgiven for sulphur. 5-10 years ago I run sulphur almost every sherry matured whisky, but not so much anymore. Something has changed over years. Maybe because of sherry treated and more engineered sherry casks.
Ao is made up of casks owned by Suntory that weren’t fit for single malt or grain bottling. Considering this, it does alright. Your content is always excellent, thank you, Rob!
Hi rob According to Malt Daddy Cadenhead is natural color and non chill filtered. And also (at least 10 year old) I can not find those information to confirm that in English based google search result. But I think suppliers have to comply with Taiwanese local food safety standards, therefore adding the additional claim on whether it used E150 or not. I’m certain that if you search up any bottle in German language based google search, they will tell you whether its natural color or not because distilleries need to provide an ingredient list for the whiskies.(this is my way of checking if a bottle is natural color or not) Best

Nice! I’ll check it out.
I agree, the AO is surprisingly good! Maybe because my expectations were low.. but I ended up enjoying it a lot.
That’s possible for me as well.
I’m a fan of turntable blending house’s stuff. They’re super transparent and quite tasty.
Need to try

I mentioned that it’s the same owner as Springbank I believe.
The AO is definitely amazing whiskey. Clear winner in my opinion out of the 4 (3 of which I've tried at least lol)

Ya definitely didn’t go the way I expected. You’re right though, doing this blind would have been ideal.
I like Compass Box Artist Blend

Thanks for putting this comparison together. Off to the LCBO I go. Damn you!

Thanks buddy
Campbeltown Loch or Compass box orchard house as fav blended whisky
@@henrieliot8740 orchard house is excellent. Never tried Loch.
The Ao and Menagerie are also by far the most expensive ones, double the Apogee and 3(!!!) times the Cadenhead's in Europe
Ao is similar in price to apogee here in Canada
