I'll never forget this song .I was 9 years old visiting my grandparents in Europe in 1964 or 65 and was goofing around with my grandfathers shortwave radio and found a UK station playing this song . Love at first listening .
That must have been like hearing "GOD" I dont believe in one but this song is like a "higher" power. I have the 45 I pinched off my Dad, have been listening to it for 43 years.
I remember in 1968 the charts were full of love and peace hippy and flower songs then Mick burst onto TOTPs with this. No wonder parents locked up their daughters when the Stones came to town..
@@mag-nm7tw depends on the mix. Think his guitar is turned low on the Amp. You can see him looking wondering whats going on. Certainly he plays on no expectations. Does anybody know for sure if he played on the Yeah yeah first version of jumping jack flash?
@@tomslick2058 Not trying to bash Brian. I know he played a variety of instruments and he founded the band but I can’t come up with 1 memorable riff that he is famous for. He became a liability around 68 ish.
Love the bass guitar on this, mixed way up high as the guitars jangle and spark like chains on a leather belt. Mick' vocal gets wild and wilder. Charlie's beat is determined, reaching higher and higher. The Stones at their best. Thanks, pal.
I've never heard this version before. My mind is completely blown. Is this an early take or a few different versions cut together? I would love to know the origin of this version of the song.
Jumpin jack flash was recorded for the 1967 album but released afterwards as a B side on a single along with Child of the Moon. That is a very early cut from late 66......haha I hope that info is correct
Sometimes bands don't issue songs for years at the behest of the record label. This was probably a early unreleased version. Van Halen wrote jump in 1980 but didn't release for 4 years.
"Jumpin' Jack Flash" was released in 1968, but this video shows The Stones evolution from 1964 to 2012, and the song is used as soundtrack to clip. So, there's no mistake.
Jumping Jack Flash was recorded in 1968, not 64. It doesn't reveal that Brian (bless him) was "still functional" on guitar. Recording techniques in 1968 were quite capable of multitracking, unlike the studios the Stones could afford in '64.
The original recording was Keith multi tracking on guitars and bass with Charlie on drums and Bill playing the eerie sounding organ towards the end. This version sounds like the full band performance. There is a video to go along with this performance where they don't have the makeup on.
What is this audio from? Sounds like they're playing to an edited track, probably for a TV show? It's pretty crazy. Sounds like the band is playing to the record and it is being live mixed as it's taped for broadcast. Definitely recorded in '68, I think. Can anyone answer my questions, or confirm my crazy theories?
Sorry man I'm not sure where we can get this version officially. They deleted alternative music video. This could be the only video that we can get this take on RUclips. I think Keith plays Les Paul(black one) , Brian plays Fender telecaster.
@@adventuremadpunk4427 Hi from Belgium. I found another one but it is not as clean as yours. I got in my music app a version of it with Keith speaking during a few seconds before. I am pretty sure it must have been on a pirate CD some day at least.
Most probably the guitars heard are NOT what was used. Good chance Brian is miming with the Tele. He seems to play a different part than he did on Rock and Roll Circus but that was just for a video. Keith probably used the' put the cassette mike in the acoustic guitar' thing he did on the more known version. The high second guitar part doesn't really match with what it looks like Brian is doing on 'No Make up version, which is where this came from

Great montage of the Stones from their early days till now. Brian Jones is still the coolest with his white Vox Phantom MKIII “teardrop” guitar.

So the bassie rythem is Brian. Or the twiny sounding guitar? Either way a gem and it shows Brian still very functional on guitar.
Watch Rock N Roll Circus and you’ll see his contribution. Zero! The studio version is also all Keith.
