Just bought one. Best car I have ever owned . . . better than a Mercedes, Audi or Infiniti. It does have an automatic trunk Ryan and everything else one could ask for in the latest technology. Incidentally, the gesture control is intuitive and seemingly learns. The guy in the video attempted volume control with two fingers extended. The proper gesture for volume is one finger extended. This car is a blast to drive!
I just found this car with less than 3k miles. This new BMW is my third 7 series. WOW what a beautiful car. Quiet, powerful, safe, and even fun to drive.
After MB CLS, BMW X6 and Range Rover sport I think that this car is very good right now. Executive seating makes its more premium feelings and 450 horsepower is enouht for me. I have riding this car one month and I can recommend this car everybody!
Overall a first rate looking automobile, as expected from BMW. However, that key that needs to be charged concerns me. Yes, I know most cars have battery remotes, but you usually don't have to worry about battery life for at least a few months. Will the key battery life be something we can count on with this car? Don't want to be locked out because it ran outta juice like a 3 yr old iphone.
primeholyassasin20 there are two batteries in the fob. One for the screen and one for the normal key functions. The battery for normal key functions ie lock/unlock does not need to be charged.
+Uno 1 Hmmm, I like them both. Considering I'm more of a performance guy, I'd have to say the Alpina version of the 7. This of course in my wildest dreams...
+Ryan To be honest, I don't know. There were so many things to get my head around on this car (on a crushingly busy week) I forgot to check. My apologies.
Ok Yeah, I'll argue that point.... I don't think cars are more sophisticated than spacecraft or aircraft or Yachts, or computer systems or medical equipment or scientific equipment or...
What about the appallingly low resale value of these BMWs, based on their lack of durability in their V8 power plant...they're selling in Australia at A$40K for a 2009 7 series with only 150K's travelled......and this is solely due to high failure rate of their V8 motors, which can cost $20K to repair...very strange for an alleged prestige vehicle........similarly aged Mercedes & Audi do not have this problem.....
Meh. The last good 7-series was the e38. This is too big and heavy and complex. Gesture controls are pointless. Just give sparse, easy to navigate blindly physical buttons.

Why can’t you find this model here in the United States?

That was an impressive review Tom, just as impressive as the car itself !! Your reviews are really great to watch.
You sir, are a natural. Best reviewer on the interwebs
+Robert Fernandes The fact that you use the word "interwebs" make me like you even more
I like your reviews. To the point, factual and a little humour thrown it. Nice job.
Tom...That is a nice interior for sure. Seems like the finally are giving the MB S Class a run for its money.
Impressive car I'll never own. Well done Tom!

Hyundai Sonata and Chevy Impala hold 8 packs in the TP trunk test. Fun fact.
what's the price
Hi Tom! If you're gonna choose between this 2016 BMW 7 series or the 2015 MB S Class, what would it be? Base on both your real world reviews.
Get 7 for odd number days and S for even number days. Problem solved.
+Uno 1 Hmmm, I like them both. Considering I'm more of a performance guy, I'd have to say the Alpina version of the 7. This of course in my wildest dreams...
+Driven Car Reviews i agree with you

im liking this even though imma s class fanboy.
Do you live in NJ?
+Mrs Clifton Nope. It's where the car registered.
Danielle Clifton yes I do wanna hookup
Is it a normal or long version?
The version we get in the U.S. is the long wheelbase model. It does not come with the "L" badge.
Dammit Martin!
My car!!
I love active kidney grill.
I prefer the Merc!
No automatic trunk?
+Ryan To be honest, I don't know. There were so many things to get my head around on this car (on a crushingly busy week) I forgot to check. My apologies.

watching this in 2021. you'd probably get robbed if anyone saw you buying that much toilet paper 🤣🤣🥳🥳🥳
Back six months ago, I got a lot of angry looks wheeling this out to the car.
I think I'd still rather have an S Class
