    I just recently discovered the art of marble making here on RUclips and you are about the 4th or 5th person I have watched and I just wanted to say how awesome your artistic skills are and how much craftsmanship goes into making a special marble. I have always been interested in the glass industry like blowers of glass, colored glass goblets & drinking glasses and fine China makers and appreciative of all the craftsmanship that goes into making such items. And while all of those industries are very interesting, I have now become addicted to watching marble making videos because your niche is more unique and labor intensive and artistic like a fine rare wine from a little known place in the World no one ever heard of before. As Dr. Spock would say; Fascinating.

    Nicely done. My dot stacks turn into funky stupid looking smears no matter what I do. Medium or small flame…with or without compressed air and middle or back of the flame. Same problem when imploding fume or striking colors. I always seem to cook them to death in the process of shaping.

    There is something I have noticed in Our Glass eco-system, in the way of decent nature and general attitudelessness purely focused on the forward momentum of the learning, which I have found in no other artforms in My Life, be it music or sports, etc..and your embodiment in this mentality and matter of fact-ed-ness, has Me encourage you to share much more, because personally for me, the delivery allows me to focus AND listen, which isn't usually easy. Thanks for the clear unstained definitive maturity that many lack, and know it makes a difference.
    P.S. ignorance question- what, where, and who, do I gather the proper gold and silver for the beginning of my fuming practice? I assume Mountain Glass would have it but that's me assuming and I would like an educated and tried/True answer that might contain some knowledge I wouldn't think to expect or look for in such an important venture.
    Take care, "subscribed" and will share and pressed "like" button.

    So in the beginning of the video with the flared open tube, putting the designs I was thinking " hey that's great, I think I could handle that" THEN you got to the dot stack portion of the marble and I have to tell ya..... you're one tough act to follow. Your knowledge of color combinations and technique really made that look easy. I'm goin to attempt something similar tonight when I get home and I can only hope it looks 1/2 as good at this. Excellent work

    Awesome demo. I’ve been watching this a couple times over the past months waiting for my skills to catch up. Quick question, when your doing the condensing part does the flame type matter oxy or reducing? You get it pretty hot, I’m guessing the fume doesn’t really burn out or pale once it’s in there? Thanks for the upload!

    How do you not burn away all the fumes???

    • @themarbleheadshow6481
      @themarbleheadshow6481  6 лет назад +4

      Practice is my best advice. There are so many subtle variables that lead to the fuming not burning off - Surface temp before applying fuming, flame settings, where the metal is placed in the flame, timing, what the flame is allowed to hit, how you apply the clear over the fume, and the mood of the glass gods (and the list goes on).... Getting through the process as many times as possible is my best advice.
