I have realized that there are two equally true conclusions to come out of this:
    1) Bryce Harper just has that effect on people.
    2) Jonathan Papelbon was just crazy enough to act on it.

Harper plays the game harder than anyone I've ever seen, at least since Pete Rose. Maybe this was the moment that made him look in the mirror, and start playing the game with a passion, playing the game hard. Seen him run out ground balls to first base, or back to the pitcher. He played JC baseball, at 17 years old, after his sophomore year of high school. All while using a wood bat, he hit .443, slugged .987, had 31 home runs, 26 doubles, 98 rbis, and won the golden spikes award at 17 years of age.
He is a first ballot hall of famer. He is a good role model for younger ball players, he is someone I would pay money to go to the ball park and watch on a daily basis. Hes a legend, and one of my all time favorite players. Him, griffey, and chipper.

As much as these players get paid. I have to side with Papelbon. Not the violence. But in the slim chance the ball got bobbled..... people paying to watch athletes be competitive.

    1) Papelbon is correct. Fly balls get dropped every now and then, especially ones that are in between zones like that. Harper should have ran it out but he isn't professional and is a spoiled little baby so he doesn't do that sort of thing. 2) Way too many steriods and the accompanying roid rage in baseball these days.

Even if that ball drops, he ain't getting to second base. I've seen worse, I'm a Phils fan and watched J-Roll hot dog it for almost 15 years.
