Great review as usual. I have to say it's a little frustrating that Armaf clones are performing better than the original Creed fragrances. I have Aventus, Green Irish Tweed and Silver Mountain Water and the Armaf clones smell pretty much the same to my nose and last longer smh.
With Creed price increases Armaf becomes a much easier decision. I sold all my Creed except for VIW, Royal Oud and Aventus for her (wife's bottle). If Armaf clones those effectively I would sell those as well
I own a 2015 120ml bottle of SMW. I bought Sillage in order to have the scent profile while preserving my original SMW. I have been sniffing them both very critically and they do have notable differences. The original has a heaviness/thickness/richness that Sillage doesn't have, it's also more sort of salty'er than Sillage. I wouldn't say Sillage is stronger since i can detect the original easier than Sillage with no hesitation. Overall, I would say the original is better. I much prefer the richness and "saltiness" of the original more than the citrus & Florals on Sillage. I don't know about the newer batches of SMW, but all i know is that people say they are weak and not good compared to Sillage given the price diffrence. But Given that older batches of SMW are well above the $300's I would say Sillage is a very good buy given that is 80+% the same fragrance. Again I would much rather have the original but vintage batches of SMW are crazy expensive and it's not realistic to use a fragrance that costs that much sparingly. Sillage is a no brainer if you want to rock SMW without the hefty price. Hope this helps 👋.
@ambiven10 Im sure it is. Coincidentally, Im actually wearing the Vintage SMW right now. It's so much better than Sillage. My gripe with Sillage is that synthetic citus, it's so unpleasantly strong. I think Armaf can do a better job at cloning SMW, but since people really like Sillage, i doubt we will get a better version. Still a good buy at $35 thou.
I disliked ALL the ARMAF fragrances at first sniff, and just about threw each one by one in the trash within the first 10-15 min, then they all start to transform into something wonderful. Don’t write these fragrances off until you’ve tried it on skin for 30 minutes , then decide if it’s a yay or a nay !! Great video
good comparison✌I bought Sillage two days ago direct from House of Sterling, it's really a Unisex Gem, room filler performance and after all the price is cheap.
@@ScentTrail Armaf slapped to Creed really by giving 7 times cheaper scent with good longevity projection and after all Sillage name is given of scent on the basis of good sillage😜
It's a clone but it does get compliments. I wore it today in warm weather and I got a compliment there is something in it that works. I didn't like it at first but now I'm thinking of buying a back up bottle.
Fantastic fragrance loved Creed.. But don't really want to buy a new bottle the price has gone up crazily over the years.... Please could you review the vintage M7 by Yves saint Laurent... Best regards and stay safe
Thanks for an exciting video. I got Club de Nuit Sillage by Armaf a few weeks ago. And I've never smelled Silver Mountain Water by Creed. All I can say is that, Club de Nuit Sillage by Armaf smells amazing on me. For a very long time and I am very grateful for. Greetings.
Hi..I need to buy dupe and similiar fragrance..I can buy afnan heaven for $24..ajmal shade silver $17..armaf sillige for $27..which is the good of these tree?
I don't understand why would you say get the Armaf if you're strapped for cash if it actually smells like the old formulated silver mountain water (which was the best in my opinion)it sounds like the clone is the best buy period 🤷🏿♂️
True, except the Drydown of Creeds Silver Mountain Water is much better and the Ingredients are superb. I really like Sillage, but, if I had to choose I would still pick the Creed.🤙
I have a SMW that I bought in 2008. I think it has gone bad. I just ordered the Sillage. They say it smells like the earlier versions when they were still strong.
Alexandria has a fragrance called Hawaii Volcano. I don't use clones, but ,heard of Alexandria as well as Dua. If you check them out let me know what you think 👍
@@ScentTrail Thinking of getting Milestone too, what do you think? The lineup of Sillage, CDNIM pure parfum and Milestone would set me up for the summer in terms of performance and longevity.
After seeing your video about this fragrance (and some other videos talking great things about it) I decided to blind buy it to see what all the talk was about. At first I was excited about how strong it smelled. The same day I got it, I wore it to go to Manhattan teach my weekly Brazilian partner dance class, and I could feel the smell in the air walking in NYC - something that also got me excited about. During class, dancing with various partners, no comment/compliment. So at end of class I told some of my students/friends that I was trying this new fragrance. They came closer to smell and said it was good, but I'm not sure if it was genuine, or just a polite compliment because I asked. Then I also ordered Milestone to check it out (because of all the hype). Now, I few days passed I regret buying these fragrances. I don't know if it is a synthetic/harsh version of Creed, or if the originals also are like this. These fragrances seem to be way too strong when I spray, to a point that it is not pleasant to bring my nose near the skin to smell it up close. I feel a little bit intoxicated (in a bad way). Then, after not so long, I go partially nose blind (specially to Milestone). And it also temporarily affects my sense of smell for other fragrances. It is very weird. Is this just me? (Side note: I also got Tres Nuit from the same clone brand to try, and this one seems to be much better and less harsh. I actually got a number of genuine compliments with Tres Nuit)
Hi 👋, Unfortunately, that's the drawback of most clones. Gas Chromotography and Mass Spectrometer. The way we Clone houses duplicate a name brand product is by inserting the fragrance oil into this machine. However, the fragrance is then duplicated mostly by synthetic notes. If you are like me ? I don't care much for clones, and I'd rather have th original. More often than not, the experience to the wearer is much better, and the Drydown Especially with Creed fragrances Is bar none. Some people just care about how it smells in the air. That's where a clone has value. Try to get a sample of the real fragrance and see if you have a better experience. 👊
@@ScentTrail Very interesting! I spent about 1h today at Saks Fifth Avenue smelling and testing various Creed Fragrances, and brought home the strips to compare to the clones. You are absolutely right! The scent profile is very similar, but smelling experience is very different. While with original Creed fragrances I could bring my nose to the skin and take a deep breath (it would smell great and keep me wanting more), the clones would give me a completely different experience: harsh, overpowering, un-inviting and synthetic.
I dont own sillage and Have SMW. I will this thing once I wore creed I aint going back to crappy clones. Even Club de nuit intense is completely systhetic compared to aventus.
@@ScentTrail Thank you for your reply and its good to hear that you enjoy all of them. For some reason, Santal has the best performance on me. The dry down is heavenly. Himalaya turns into a skin scent very soon on me. MI has loud projection for first hour then becomes a skin scent. Out of the 3, I feel like Santal and MI are distinct enough to get them. Atleast thats what I am thinking. EDIT: Do you have a top 10 creed video?
I really hope that Armaf will make a clone of vintage Virgin Island Water and Royal Oud. I have Milestone, CDNIM, Tres Nuit and Craze and they are all great. And I used to hate clones but they can be better than the originals. I just ordered sillage and cdn women (noir de noir clone). I plan to get purple haze by alexandria as well. It is a 1x1 copy of Psychedelic Love by initio.
I have Purple Haze from Alexandria . I quite like that one👍. Hany Hafez does a good job and also has a few good originals, like Hafes 1984, tabacco, patchouli and rum.🤙
