When i was in college and incredibly broke, i couldn't afford to get a mealplan that covered eating on the weekends. So, on sundays, I used to walk to a gas station that sold 3 hot dogs for $1. These werent roller hot dogs. They were floating in a big crockpot of hot water and the buns were cold. Halfway through one of my dogs one sunday, i came across a small beetle in the bum. I just picked it out and kept eating. I haven't eaten a hot dog since graduation over 30 years ago.
Fun story, When I was about 10 years old I went to a shell gas station and I got to go to the back and see how they make the sausages, they brought in a pig and over the course of 30 minutes I got to see the pig Slaughtered, Gutted, and grinded into a paste and fed through a Tube and shaped to make a hot dog🎉🎉🎉😂
From a former Cumby’s employee, the buns for the hot dogs are usually in a drawer right under the roller grill you can pull out, but they definitely don’t make it clear enough you can do that. We had a lot of customers thinking we don’t got buns (hon).
