    I am the mother of the groom. My son chose to serve our country as a United
    States Marine and I am very proud of him. This wedding was held in the church our family attended since he was a year old. To those who have left positive comments, thank you. It was a beautiful wedding and I am happy that you enjoyed watching this clip. For those of you who have left negative comments, it's too bad you cannot just move on without a word if you do not like what you see. It was a beautiful wedding!

      Dear "Mother of the Groom", do be proud. As a Serviceman with 38 years under my belt, I am Always happy to see a man get married in Uniform ! As for those who cannot grasp the importance of the"Arch of Swords", it is "Honors", and the "Tap on the Bride's Butt" is actually a gesture of affection, meaning "you're in OUR family now, and we'll ALL look after you". It's THAT important.

    For qny civilians watching, the sword ceremony is one of the best traditions in the Marine Corps. The sword arch is an honor to have. Requiring a kiss to be allowed past is another tradition, and it is typical for the bride to be tapped on the rear with the sword when being welcomed into the Marine family. Oorah Devil Dog, Semper Fi.

      This custom is NOT unique to the USMC. The sword arch, the "kiss to pass," and the tap on the civilian's backside are performed at the weddings of personnel from all of the branches of the American military.

    This was a beautiful and funny wedding HOWEVER extremely disrespectful!!!!!!!! Marine Honor Guard manual states that you shall not wear a cover indoors of a place of worship. I believe this to be a Church therefore covers should not be worn EVEN by a COLOR GUARD or HONOR GUARD!! These Marines should have known better.

    • @highlightsvideopro
      @highlightsvideopro  7 лет назад +1

      So 6 years later you're going to complain about something in a manual? Really? A cover? How do you come up with this stuff? Some things are better left unsaid. I bet you told on Sally for tattle telling in grade school.

      What? lol. How is it anti-American to not want the military to ruin the wedding ceremony with their rituals? lol You know this ridiculous patriotism that people like you exhibit is shocking and hilarious to people in other countries. You don't care how bad our country has gotten, you still foolishly claim America is the best country in the world.

    • @highlightsvideopro

      @Jonathan Missimer.... I really don't think our military cares what other countries think. You are free to go and live in a better country. To inform us all of how smart you are, please name this other "better"country.

    This was very special for the bride and groom and their entire family. So far it's reached 27,000 viewers. Was your wedding a joke to your family or will it be? A great idea would be to put your theory to the test. Since you say we are a joke to the rest of the world. Take a nice trip down to the middle east. Pick any of these countries: Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, or Syria right now. Maybe they'd treat you so well, you wouldn't want to come back to this joke of a country.
