I am the mother of the groom. My son chose to serve our country as a United States Marine and I am very proud of him. This wedding was held in the church our family attended since he was a year old. To those who have left positive comments, thank you. It was a beautiful wedding and I am happy that you enjoyed watching this clip. For those of you who have left negative comments, it's too bad you cannot just move on without a word if you do not like what you see. It was a beautiful wedding!
Dear "Mother of the Groom", do be proud. As a Serviceman with 38 years under my belt, I am Always happy to see a man get married in Uniform ! As for those who cannot grasp the importance of the"Arch of Swords", it is "Honors", and the "Tap on the Bride's Butt" is actually a gesture of affection, meaning "you're in OUR family now, and we'll ALL look after you". It's THAT important.
My son (the groom) and his Marine brothers! I am so proud of them and love them all! We now a have a beautiful new daughter that we love dearly. God's blessings for David and Jessy! Take a few years for yourselves then bring on the grandkids!!! Love, Mom
For qny civilians watching, the sword ceremony is one of the best traditions in the Marine Corps. The sword arch is an honor to have. Requiring a kiss to be allowed past is another tradition, and it is typical for the bride to be tapped on the rear with the sword when being welcomed into the Marine family. Oorah Devil Dog, Semper Fi.
This custom is NOT unique to the USMC. The sword arch, the "kiss to pass," and the tap on the civilian's backside are performed at the weddings of personnel from all of the branches of the American military.
Thank you Highlights for being a part of this special day for my family. And creating a wonderful masterpiece that we can watch and laugh together with.
Well, I guess it is a choice...personally I don't think I would care for recorded marching music at my wedding....but if they are happy that's all that matters.
This was a beautiful and funny wedding HOWEVER extremely disrespectful!!!!!!!! Marine Honor Guard manual states that you shall not wear a cover indoors of a place of worship. I believe this to be a Church therefore covers should not be worn EVEN by a COLOR GUARD or HONOR GUARD!! These Marines should have known better.
So 6 years later you're going to complain about something in a manual? Really? A cover? How do you come up with this stuff? Some things are better left unsaid. I bet you told on Sally for tattle telling in grade school.
Jonathan Missimer What? lol. How is it anti-American to not want the military to ruin the wedding ceremony with their rituals? lol You know this ridiculous patriotism that people like you exhibit is shocking and hilarious to people in other countries. You don't care how bad our country has gotten, you still foolishly claim America is the best country in the world.
@Jonathan Missimer.... I really don't think our military cares what other countries think. You are free to go and live in a better country. To inform us all of how smart you are, please name this other "better"country.
Its a wedding tradition. We need this type of things, and the men and women in our armed forces need some fun and jokes in their life, if they don't and its all serious all the time, whats worth living then.
This was not a civil ceremony. It was held in our family church and performed by our pastor, my brother. It was a beautiful ceremony and performed in the presence of God.
Barber and Jarhead please save the male chauvinist talk. It doesn't belong here. Support the marines and all of our military. Thanks and have a nice day!
To the groom and his family, Thank you for your service. I have 2 nephews who are Marines, a husband who is a soldier veteran and a late father who served under General Patton. I am very proud of all who serve! Congratulations!
Very nicely done. I did not know (Marine) Enlisted Men included Swords as a part of their uniform. In the Navy, a sword is never part of an Enlisted Man's uniform. I was married in a Military Wedding - swords were never drawnwithin the Church. Only outside and under cover!
That is a United states marine corp uniform a uniform that can not be bought that can only be earned by taking a oath to protect the United states at any cost a uniform that is a honor to wear and honestly the title says this is a marine wedding it should be obviously to everyone that it a marine corp uniform to a branch
This was very special for the bride and groom and their entire family. So far it's reached 27,000 viewers. Was your wedding a joke to your family or will it be? A great idea would be to put your theory to the test. Since you say we are a joke to the rest of the world. Take a nice trip down to the middle east. Pick any of these countries: Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, or Syria right now. Maybe they'd treat you so well, you wouldn't want to come back to this joke of a country.

Probably one of the best Marine Corps traditions

I’ve watched 4 military weddings tonight and they all did that, Navy, Army, Air Force, and Marines.
Trying to attack this wedding is suicide itself
Trying to attack anything with a devil dog present is suicide lol
That tap on the butt was funny !
Congratulations and thank you for your service sir !
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏

it is such an honor and so special to have a marine wedding. they deserve it and god bless the new family
my daughter had a military wedding. and a sword ceremony. perfect.
A lot
Of swords !!!!!!!👍👍😂👍👍👍👍👍
You get the uniforms From becoming a United States Marine Ma'am.
Exactly. The government can try and take guns away but they'll never take our freedom, I mean our swords. That sounds like a line in Braveheart.
Thanks for sharing.
You're welcome! I have more interesting content going to be uploaded soon.
Well, I guess it is a choice...personally I don't think I would care for recorded marching music at my wedding....but if they are happy that's all that matters.
It's a Marine thing. Not for everyone.
Was this at a school?
The Brides side was on the left side of the church as you are walking toward the alter, as is tradition.
No, it was held at our church.
The bride and her family is on the left if you are staring at the alter.
I thought the wife was to walk on the left side, but whatever. Congrats. on the marriage and may you be blessed forever :)
Marine Uses Sword In Wedding

angelarthrasher who gives a flying fuck? Try enjoying life for a change instead of trying to pic a video.
Not only the covers were wrong, but weapons are never allowed inside the church.
Sometimes there are exceptions to that rule
Do you like that name, Private?
Semper Fi!!!
hey now
why they always hit the bride in her bum in this kind of wedding???
i googled, and people said that its the price the bride has to pay for joining the marine family without having to go through boot camp
Jockey Girl thank you .....
It's just humor and it worked.
It's sexist shit
Alway has to be one femnazi on a video.
The military, great way to ruin a wedding.

TJazz, this ritual is actually European and an easy 2000 years old.Signed, Col. (ret'd) Maurizio Pescatori, Italian Army.
Maurizio Pescatori While I agree on that TJazz’s comment is stupid, I highly doubt the Romans were doing this kind of thing.

This will be my wedding soon 😘.
Good for your son. Married AND a United States Marine! Best of luck to you, your son and his wife, and your daughter. Semper Fidelis!

Earn it by becoming a United States Marine.
