Hi Marnie! I’ve never been a huge fan of “day in the life” vlogs but lately yours have brought me so much joy. I’m at the end of chemo treatments for breast cancer so even though I’m a pretty long time subscriber, I haven’t been watching a lot of beauty/clothing videos. I’ve also been pretty isolated from friends or really anything outside the home, so your 2 most recent vlogs were like meeting up with an old friend. It was so nice to see you living a normal life, loving your dogs, looking beautiful and just doing things I miss doing. I got emotional but also inspired to get my skin back in shape and daydream about all the things I will do when I’m back to being healthy and strong. THANK YOU for doing what you do, keeping it real, and being that inspiration for so many women. 🙌🏻❤️

I enjoy watching your vlogs and going along on your adventures! My son left to back to college and I cried for about five minutes, then I was fine. I try to remember what you said about our kids doing what they’re supposed to be doing and that we should pat ourselves on the back because we have done a good job getting them to that point. Freshman year was tough, but sophomore year is a lot easier for me. The actual saying goodbye always gets me though and then I return to my normal routine when he’s gone.

I love that coloring app! It is addictive. I totally agree about empty nesting, even though my nest is only half empty. My remaining son is the only reason I cook. He is my baby, but I'll be happy when he can be self sufficient. Love Rowdy!💕

I love your DITL videos! We are not quite empty nesters yet but our oldest son is away at college in FL, we live in CA, so when we dropped him off last Aug I cried cause I knew it would be 4 long months before we saw him again. He came home for XMas break & it was great & fun & I loved him being home. But also busy & exhausting, and even tho I cried again when he left to go back to school, I was also “ready”, even tho it still made me sad! It’s such a mix of emotions when your kids are away at college, excited to have them home, then cry when they leave, I’m not sure I’ll ever get used to it! And we still have 2 more to experience this with! Happy New Year Marnie😊

PJs - I switched from traditional PJs a few years ago. I love wearing LuLaRoe leggings to bed with an athletic or cotton type tee. On the days that I work from home, I literally roll out of bed ready for the day. LOL. I love the leggings vs the loose PJ pants. They never bunch up while sleeping.
In answer to your question, I mix and match between both PJs and loungewear, when it comes to sleepwear. Regardless of the season. Laundered every day or every other day. And, I mostly use slipper socks, rather than slippers. What I don't do, is sit around the house, in any of it, regardless of my schedule nor my situation. I was raised to consider doing so, to be in poor taste -and not at all stylish!. Thanks for sharing your and Michael's excursions. There is almost always something new and interesting to see.
Completely agree about the "empty nest" I was initially lost and felt like I had too much time but now I've adjusted and I'm loving our alone time. We've been full circle and it feels like we're dating all over again. So much fun just hanging with my man and not having a thousand things to do and worry about. I really feel like our relationship is so much better than it's been in years. We're best friends again and I forgot what that felt like.

We love Fredericksburg! Fun over nighter for us in North Texas! I have to say that being an empty nester has been good for my marriage. It is nice to reconnect with my hubby. Clearly that boy doesn’t want his sweater on! 🤣

Grew up in Kerrville right by Fredericksburg. If you haven’t been to the kitchen store called Der Kuchen Laden go. It’s such a fun store with so many cool kitchen gadgets and great selection of nice kitchen brands. I could spend hours there.

I work at a hospital and when I come home, I take off my scrubs first thing and most days put on pjs or a lounge outfit. My sons are now out of the house too. It was hard at first as I was used to house full with their friends over a lot. I do enjoy the quiet times.

I couldn’t agree more, the empty nester stage has been fantastic. I have to say though we have friends/acquaintances that do not enjoy it. My husband and I realize why they don’t. I think you really have to have a good and strong relationship with your partner for this to work, we have so many friends who they don’t spend a lot of time together alone they are either with other couples or take separate trips and vacations etc. We always prioritized our relationship over kids, friendships, family etc. our personal choice but we are best friends, enjoy spending time together. I guess you can say we never stopped dating lol so we always tell those looking for advice on how to transition. We say start by slowly doing regular date nights before the kids are gone, and taking a few trips or vacations alone without the kids to help transition, even for a long weekend. You and Michael are very similar to my husband and I so we totally get how you love it and I love that my now grown children are so independent ♥️
Favorite part is when you are talking about empty nesting. That will be me next year!❤️

Auburn fan here, the hubs alma mater. So obviously I pull for any team playing against Alabama. So glad Georgia won!!! Sweet victory for us Auburn fans as well. Yay for Georgia, not to mention, one of Georgia's defensive players is from my town and was in school the same time as my daughter 😃

On another note, everything you said about empty nesters is spot on! Our kids have wings and we need to let them fly! It’s hard at first, but it gets easier after every visit.

I love your hat and you look great in it. I have always loved hats. When I was a little girl sitting in church in the 50's when women wore hats to church, I would imagine myself flying above the pews snatching hats off the ladies's heads. I have my grandma's hats hanging in an arrangement on one of my bedroom walls. I treasure them. I like your coral(?) sweater, too.
I'm not a military buff, but I am a history buff. I like war movies and documentaries, especially WWII.
I wear the same pajamas several days in a row. I don't wear anything to bed (I know, TMI), but I get into my pajamas when I get up and wear them while I drink my coffee, read my email, watch Instagram Stories (when I remember) and watch some RUclips. I live alone and my kitty, Maumau, doesn't care that I'm in my jammies for so long. I never go anywhere or have company until noon, anyway. I'm retired and start my day out slow. I wear my regular clothes until I go to bed.

Love me some Fredericksburg!! We usually go for the weekend, since it's a 4 hour drive from Ft Worth...it's just a fun little town, but I agree, warmer weather is nice so you can walk the shops and sip wine😉

I bought the Lancome Genifique serum when I was at the MacDill BX over the Christmas Holiday. I REALLY Like it!! My skin LOVED the Humidity in Florida!!! It was 80 deg while we were there & when we flew home, it was -8 deg!! BRRRRR! Of course, being gone for 2 weeks, there was No food in the house, so I did some grocery shopping at Wal-Mart. The following week, I tested Positive for CoVid!! Now, I'm Quarantined & Sick with Cold symptoms. I got sick a month after my booster shot! My Tan is Gone, my skin is sickly pasty & I've been in my Jammies for the last 4 days! I Really Hope 2022 gets better!! The Temps here have finally gone up to the 30s, but with that damn wind, the real feel is still wicked cold! XOXO from Montana

Enjoying this blog immensely! I just became aware of something re: dogs. You might already know this but apparently, if you a dog wearing a red collar and possibly a red leash, it means the dog is aggressive! I never knew that! You’re supposed to ask the owner can you pet, etc. I learned this from my local Humane Society. Just thought I’d throw that your way.

I only have a couple pairs of actual pajamas and rarely wear them.
I’m a t-shirt girl and often just sleep in my tee and underwear and socks (very hot sleeper with ice cold feet).
If I’m planning to work out in the morning I’ll sleep in my sports bra and bicycle shorts, so I have one less excuse to not do it.
I have no idea how you can sleep in a sports bra but that is a great idea!
