It’s just so odd how differently each state handled the lockdown and how quickly they recovered. Even almost 4 years later, it’s like it just happened in Vermont!
My brother had a second home in Vermont. I visited over 4th of July week. Every day we drove in a different direction and every day witnessed post card worthy scenery. That with the holiday decor on every home and building, the rock fences and flower boxes, it was a feast for the eyes. Highly recommend Vermont!
Loved all your outfits. You look wonderful! I'm a SC transplant now in Western Mass. You are right about New Englangers being reserved. I still won't change my southern friendliness. It is much needed here. In the south we ALWAYS pull over in town for a funeral out of respect. They do not do that here and I still do. The seasons are fabulous, the houses are built like the rock and when you make a friend they are truly the best people ever! 🤗

Been going to Vermont from Utah every fall for over 30 years! Now the kids take their families. Stowe is our favorite! Cold Hollow Cider Mill, and the cider donuts! Excited for FALL🎉

I live just half hour away from Manchester, and am sad to hear about conditions at the Equinox. I also got a kick out of your being cold with temps in the 50s! It was 55 here this morning and I was out in the barn wearing a t-shirt. I started with a sweatshirt over it, but was too warm.

Glad you enjoyed your time up here in my neck of the woods (I live in New Hampshire). I can't even imagine living somewhere that regularly gets over 100 degrees--though I have visited areas that get that hot and like you, I enjoyed getting home to my own climate. i watch many of you from the south and southwest on youtube trying on fall clothes saying that it is 97 or 100 degrees and I always feel bad for you (but that is just me, unless I am at the beach I hate the heat, when it hits 80-85 degrees I start dreaming of fall 🙂-- long walks on those cool crisp days, woodsmoke in the air, and then snuggling up in a soft cozy sweater with my dog, a great book, and a coffee.) Ah fall, I do love you best of all. You brought a smile to my face seeing you all bundled in your puffer jacket with the hood on because it was in the 50's. Lately we are back to being in the 50's in the mornings when I walk my dogs, which warrants a long sleeve t-shirt-haven't even brought my fall coats out yet. It is always so interesting to get a different perspective on things.
My late husband was exactly the same like your husband. He planned all our trips before. Stowe, Vermont used to be one of our favorite destinations. What a wonderful trip you had. Thank you for sharing since it brought back so many memories for me ❤ Oh and your clothes choices were lovely too 👍

Love your glasses! So sorry you are going through this. So many autoimmune diseases these days. I went on a carnivore diet and all my inflammation in my body is gone! You may think of going on a low carb low inflammation diet to help you heal faster.
I feel like I can't break my carb addiction. I'm a nurse, since the covid vaccine so many of us have been diagnosed with polymyalgia rheumatica, rumatoid arthritis and countless shingles outbreaks.

Hi Marnie - loved your Southern VT tour and that you got a taste of our chillier climate. I live in Brunswick NY 1/2 hr from Bennington. I know being from SanAntonio your year-round wardrobe suggestions center around our summer only wear. I love your videos and have taking many suggestions about fashion and home and beauty tips. Can you recommend an influencer who comes from our neck-of-the-woods who can give us budget friendly fashion tips for our fall and winter climate. More wool (shetland, merino, heavier cashmere), thermal, down, warmer, snow/ice appropriate footwear, etc. You will always be my go to but we can't do SanAntonio wear more than about 4 months out of the year. Thank you for all your work you do for us. I'm 71, 5'3" 129lbs - pretty active outdoors and not fancy. I do hope your eyes are getting better.
I wish I could recommend someone else but most ladies I follow are from the south for some reason!

I incorporate a lot of your pointers - love Quince - great for Spring and Fall here - and you're right - most of the other fashion influencers that I follow are all from the south so hard to get somebody who gets it that we in the NE like to look stylish, slim and attractive but need to be WARM. So glad you enjoyed the VT trip - it's beautiful and the Equinox in it's day was a great place to stay so sorry they are having problems. Thank you again.

Loved visiting Vermont a few years ago for the fall colors. Beautiful! One of these years you should visit Montana in the early fall. Bozeman and Red Lodge are my two favorite places (I grew up in MT and college in Bozeman). You and your hubby would love the hiking and scenery!

I literally had just returned home from a weekend wedding in Manchester before watching your video!!! My first visit there, and it won’t be my last! I feel in love with the town and the peaceful surroundings. The bride and groom had a cocktail party at the Reluctant Panther and the most stunning wedding at Hildebrand (spelling?) The Lincoln family estate (beautiful gardens and the home is a museum that is open to the public). We stopped at Mulligans for a beer at the bar (nice selection on tap!). It was a wonderful visit!
The Lincoln home is called Hildene and it's amazing!! Can't believe that was their summer home! I wonder if we overlapped while in Vermont-it would have been fun to see you!

I love that you give details on your trips! I had a planned trip to Marfa and made a point to go see the Prada store after seeing your video on that road trip! This year, we are going to New York and Boston and planned to drive through the southern part of Vermont at the end of September so this video is very helpful with giving Ilya a few options to consider. I also live in the Texas Hill Country, and will most likely be freezing on our trip as it will be 5 weeks after yours and will only get cooler I’m sure!! I live about 15 minutes from Albany Airport! We love Manchester Vt. We’re heading there next weekend 9/6) for the Southern Vt Craft Fair. It’s a curated craft fair where you can find the most unique items. LOVE the Reluctant Panther. It’s our favorite restaurant in Manchester. You should come in the fall. The colors are incredible.

I love hearing your travel stories. We went to Manchester VT (from Oklahoma) last fall. It was beautiful! And a little cold. We loved the covered bridges and beautiful scenery all over that area of the country. New Hampshire was gorgeous too! I hope your treatment with your eye is successful. Wishing you well.

Great video Marnie! Gorgeous scenery! Vermont is definitely on our list of places to visit. We just spent a week in Depoe Bay, Oregon on the West Coast. It was absolutely glorious and never got above 65! Sunny and gorgeous every day! Highly recommend adding it to your list of places to visit.😊
This video was fun to watch. I often take day trips to Vermont and everyplace in your videos I’ve been to many times. Seeing them through someone else’s eyes made it more special and interesting. Love your style.

I think I was so cold for two reasons. One, I was not prepared for the 50+ degree difference with rain and no sun. Two, our hotel wouldn’t turn on the heat so even inside we were FREEZING!! We could just not warm up unless we were in the car. Normally, I would have loved it! I want to come back in the winter!

Love your travel videos, and actually I love all of your videos. It was interesting to compare your impressions of Vermont with our own area of the country, the Pacific NW. We are friendly, but not ones to initiate conversation, or at least that's what others say. If you've not taken an Alaska cruise leaving from this area, you should have your husband look into that vacation, or even coming up here for cool weather, amazing scenery and equally amazing food.

We stayed at The Equinox about 15 years ago when it was a thriving, beautiful resort. It's too bad it has gone down hill because the property, as you said, is so pretty. Vermont is a beautiful state and it is a must to see in the Fall when the leaves are changing. That is the best time to go. The views are amazing.

Looks like you are on the right path to recovery. Wonderful traveling virtually with you and Michael to Vermont. I could feel the cool, crisp morning weather (here in Palm Springs ranging 117+ heat wave) and taste the delightful dishes. Tomorrow, flying to NY for a few days en route to Italy. Wearing the #1 navy sweats. Love the look, style and feel of this set. Perfect travel outfit! Italians wear joggers and sweats only when exercising. Guess I’ll have to build up a sweat! Ciao 😘

Love your videos! We took a trip to the beautiful Berkshires a few years ago and spent some time in Bennington, VT. My favorite stop was the Robert Frost Stone House and Museum. This is where he wrote my all-time favorite poem, "Stopping By Woods on a Snowy Evening," which he wrote there on a hot July day. The original manuscript is framed and hanging on a wall in the dining room. It gave me chills!

I visited Hildene the summer home of the Lincoln family when I was in that area of VT and enjoyed the historic house and gardens. Wonderful views of the mountains there.
