some shit about IBJJF ion know what, but there’s a video on Flo on him explaining the reason I think!
He said: “My decision is permanent. The only way I would come back to fight for IBJJF is that I could see a commitment, a movement to professionalize the sport. I’m talking about the rules, the pay, streaming, media exposure, being professional in all aspects that I believe that is their job to handle.”
The cynical take is that he is avoiding USADA-monitored events because he is on the New Wave "strength program."

I mean they should pay their athlete, they make a lot of money with inscription and streaming but don't pay their athlete. They did also double DQ homeboy two years ago so.. I get him. Hugo needs to work on his wrestling (a lot) before he becomes older. Wrestling is exponentially more difficult the older you become.
