Yeah I was personally disappointed when I found out that he can't be beaten in any way during the first scene. Spent a good 4 minutes parrying his attacks before throwing in the towel.
@@theofficialtastynacho0898 There are some games that will let you “beat the game” early, like in DMC5 if you beat the first boss instead of losing, it will start playing the credits. Metal Gear is a series that I don’t even doubt would definitely pull something like that.
@@autil7393 I personally didn't think it'd let me beat the game, but I was hoping for an alternate scene where it the fight ends on an at least somewhat closer playing field, with respect from Sam, instead of it being outright domination because the player is still not used to the game. @@autil7393 What you say about DMC5 is true, but in the very first Urizen fight, Urizen has a health bar. But an alternate scene for the ending would've been cool.
I just want to appreciate the little fact that when you kill drain bosses' health a tad bit too quickly, it always stops at 0.1% and the fight continues until the game finds a good opportunity to transition into a cutscene instead of just fading to black. This game is so well designed even for today's standards.

You can also one-shot Sundowner even in Revengeance by aerial countering his shield rush attack... the one that he starts with like 80% of the time. Hilarious to end the fight in like 2 seconds.
The way you just take Mistal’s head off, then leave the body in tact I think is more brutal than dicing her into pieces. Imagine someone wandering in and finding that. The frozen body of a decapitated woman, still standing where she died.

Alot of games, especially action games will include a joke ending, or at the very least a special cutscene for beating a boss like that. Dmc5 being my favorite example, if you kill urizen in the prolog you get an ending and unlock the next difficulty.
A lot of games often have some kind of secret dialogue or ending to the fight if you aren’t supposed to beat it, this happens a lot in games where there’s a New Game Plus or the ability to go back and redo the stage after beating it the first time. If not, usually there’s some pretty funny glitches relating to beating an “unbeatable” boss. A recent favourite example of mine is from Blaster Master Zero 3. The very first boss is against another MA Pilot, and losing against him results in him stating he wanted battle damage on his tank for a convincing lie, before giving you an upgrade. However, you *can* beat him despite his superior arsenal and multiple health bars! Doing so gives you extra dialogue mentioning your gap in skill, and does the same as above. I love this example as it really lets you test your skill if you’re already familiar with the series, it still fits the story perfectly regardless of your winning or losing, and it really, really makes the final battle much more impressive.
would be kinda cool if they did some sort of unique cutscene for beating him early in the train fight like with the armstrong fight in the sam dlc where you technically beat armstrong but lose in the cutscene they could have done something like that
How about some out of bounds exploring? I remember using Polearm glitch to skip the falling elevator in Denver, I flied so far I skipped death trigger and loaded the stage past the underground tunnel. Should be easier with the hacks.
Reminds me of Sekiro and Devil May Cry 5, which both handled it better in my opinion. First time you fight Genichiro, you're designed to be defeated. If your health drops to zero, you get a cutscene where he severs Sekiro's arm. As Sekiro collapses from the bloodloss, he taunts "Is that all a Shinobi has to offer?" If you beat him, he makes a show of cursing, kneeling, lowering his head, all around looking defeated. Then a Shuriken comes out of nowhere, and when Sekiro blocks it, Genichiro suddenly lunges and cuts his arm. As Sekiro collapses again, Genichiro instead remarks "A Shinobi should know the difference between honor and victory." Thus, beating him leads to the same result, but you actually get the satisfaction that he had to resort to dishonorable means to win, which sets up later character points. DMC5 on the other hand actually allows you to win by beating the boss in the prologue (and again in Mission 8). You get a different ending, among other things stating "Indeed, this was the perfect conclusion all had hoped for." You also unlock the next difficulty setting, as if you'd actually finished the game and of course get an achievement. You do have to lose to play the rest of the missions though. I think a Sekiro Style "Nice job, but unfortunately, we can't let you win because there's still some story to go through" cutscene would have been decent. I'm not sure how it could look though.
