Metal Gear Rising: Revengenace - DL-Story 01 Jetstream Sam vs. Blade Wolf Fight
I had more trouble than I should of with this fight. Sam plays quite a bit differently than Raiden so it took some time getting used to. Enemies seem to move faster while playing as Sam.
I like how at this point Sam is the one fighting due to his own beliefs and wolf is fighting only on orders, then later on the roles are reversed completely. God I want to write about this games storytelling all day.
It's a masterpiece in all aspects, true art
Write about it to me! I love this fucking game

MGS4 fans be like
"i CanT bELieVe tHIs sTUpiD sTOrY iS tHe SeQUel, dIs iS nON cAnoN"
And seemingly Sam planted the seeds of Bladewolf’s rebellion too
I like to imagine that in the backstory of every single one of the Winds of Destruction members they at some point beat the piss out of LQ-84I.
im late but khasmir is the one who failed to beat the piss out of him.
LQ84i(aka Bladewolf) against everyone
Mistral - hate due to her abuse nature toward him.
Dessert storm - Annoyed by his word
Sundowners - maybe had few conversation, nothing impacting his sane.
Monsoon - never met.
Jetstream sam - met in two occasions, one of which questions Bladewolf decisions and choices.
Raiden - same like Sam only he gave Bladewolf the answer he seek this whole time, which is answer on why human nature was into violence.
Sunny - a good companion to hangout with, listening to his backstory, which gave a name to him
@@HappiKarafuru Sundowner thought Blade Wolf was useless after the fight with Sam, so yeah, he’s against him.
@@HappiKarafuru I know it's late but Sam and Wolf met 5 times, 3 were stated by wolf and 2 were in the game.
@Sneed Feed And Seed
Correction: Sundowner abuses the shit out of him like a novelty. Mistral does treat him well, as long as he shows 100% obedience.
Blade wolf doesn't even know what to say to Sam, he is in a loss for words. I feel kinda bad for him honestly
I mean, it's understandable. The poor thing is a sentient AI who can't even comprehend the idea of freedom until he has the right influences in Sam(somewhat) and Raiden.
Kinda deep, but gotta say it anyway:
P*rsonafan spotted.
@@andyroobrick-a-brack9355 my belive is that the sam dlc hapend before Wolf dlc
I think aam planted the seed for his desire for freedom
It does happen before the Wolf DLC. At the end Bladewolf confirms the ending was right before he met Raiden
of course dummy he got cut up into more braincells than i have
I really like Sam's character, he fights for what he believes in
Until he got his ass kicked and threw away his morals.
I like him too, he was a good character.
He fights for samba and caipirinhas. Ronaldo
He didn’t throw them away completely as he gave Raiden the chance to take down Armstrong via with his blade. He probably could’ve kept the lock on his blade going well after his death and Raiden’s fight with Armstrong.
Not for a company or a nation or for anyone else
@@connorclemmons8698 Even before that he could have killed everyone at the launch site before Raiden could get there and prevented him from ever reaching Armstrong in the first place, as Raiden himself notes.
As the lyrics to "The only thing I know for real" point out; Sam has forgotten the reasons why he fights, but that he can't stop himself because he feels as though it is the only way he knows how to live. So he gives himself one last duel with Raiden to decide things. Either he wins, Raiden dies, and Armstrong's plan continues with Sam still wandering through life fighting simply because it's all he knows. Or he loses, and Raiden can do what Sam couldn't and kill Armstrong.
This entire game is just a massive, action-packed heavy metal concert, and I love it
Wish more games could be like that
**Packed** indeed 😳😳😳
the boss fights are
1:40 bro that music que 🥵🥵🥵
Not heavy metal but I got what you meant
Jetstream Sam's story *really* messed with my muscle memory at first mainly because the bosses in this game attack more frequently than they did in the main campaign. but other than that, it was awesome.
I was looking for this comment
it makes sense
because wolf's feelings of freedom were awakened for the first time
@@thedissatisfactoryman114 no it's because Sam isn't cybernetically enhanced like Raiden is
Meaning the enemies attack more frequently and aggressively because Sam seems to not be a threat
@@hylianro Not quite, meaning Raiden's cyber enhancements are speeding up his reaction times since his brain processes information faster. The enemies aren't quicker against Sam. Sam is slower against the enemies
The amount of times Blade Wolf needs a new body must be awful for World Marshal's budget.
Not really since they are one of the largest companies so they should have a lot of money
@@Toonlink-sd9rg joke
How did maverick get a body for blade wolf? After raiden cut him to pieces?
@@webbtail245 doktor is simply built different
Kakaga Kakerger Constructed in an alternative manner
But in the end, they both had a soft conversation between one another.
*Nice
I like the way you didn't taunt
Because sam actually felt pity for him
I can confirm.
Hello there Samuel from Funy Mim Ples Broozul
that walk at the end... adding insult to injury 😄
"Now, now... I AM quite good, you know"
Humble
Well, he means in a way to consolate him. Very humble of the brazilian male
Love the flamenco cover of wolf's theme at the beginning, letting us know that Sam is getting through to him.
That same cover is in the main game bruh
@@mr.monkey354 sorry for the necropost, but notably, that plays _after_ Raiden asks "What's our purpose, why are we here?", meaning the flamenco cover likely does reflect blade wolf's sense of rebellion. (on top of playing during the scene where wolf passes Raiden the murasama blade)
Man I love the exchanges with bladewolf in the cutscenes.

GREETINGS SAMURAI
🤣🤣🤣🤣
*"We've got a city to bug"*
I have learned one thing from sam, "you fight because you're forced to, i fight because i choose to", i think it means not only power or skill is required to win a fight, but also the morality in fighting is what's needed
In anything you do in life, ultimately it comes down to if your heart is truly invested in it. Sam was 100% right here.
2:21 god that is such a sad line give the context because you know he's lying. Sure he doesn't feel *physical* pain but it definitely hurts to be forced to fight like this.
time to leave them all behind
"breaking out of my pain"
When i was playing this doggo literally barrage attacking me and killed me atleast 20 times
dude you suck at the game
@@bitoXS try getting an s rank on revengeance difficulty with no equipment against a boss who's more aggressive than usual (not including the taunts) and with a character who all their attacks are reversed from Raiden's then come talking asshat.
@@UserName-cy9yp yeah but only in reveangence mode, in other difficulties its piss easy
every boss beside armstrong is easy
@@bitoXS it's not piss easy, tf are you on about. Not everyone is instantly a God at every game they touch. This shit was already pretty challenging on hard.
@@MONTR65 yeah sam's dlc is quite hard I talked trash, I remember that the first time I played it I was good at the normal game but sam's moveset makes things harder and he is kind of slower on his attacks
You can tell Wolf adapts and learns from this. Raiden is much stronger and faster than Sam so he calls for help during his fight with him
I would say they are pretty much on the same power level at the point raiden fights blade wolf but yeah he definitely did learn to call in back up
@@sheravmaharaj317 not really. Raiden has always been faster and stronger. Sam had more skill and technique that's how he won the first fight
@@JasonDevil06 ruclips.net/video/9_9MhaMWdiI/видео.html
@@JasonDevil06 after losing the first fight and coming back, Raiden says he got lots of upgrades. In fact, if you look at the unlockable suits, it says his original suit had very little protection, so basically the same level as Sam. Sam won because of his superior skill. Raiden won the rematch only because of his upgrades. Imagine what Sam could do with that level of cybernetics.
@@jesuschrystler777 Raiden was still originally faster and stronger than Sam. Raiden could toss a metal gear in the beginning of the game Sam wasn't that strong he won the first fight because of skill
jetstream sam is like gordon freeman
kills augmented cyborgs that can calculate everything perfectly
doesnt have any augmentations himself, just wields an iconic meele weapon
Yes.
Oh, cool!
Plus brazilian
I love how we've all whooped Blade Wolf's ass so many times that the least surprising part of this is the cutscenes being longer than the fight itself
When blade wolf almost slashes his jaw and sam dodges it thats a reference to the first cutscene with raiden and wolf in the main game, except sam actually dodges it completely and raiden gets his jaw heated up. Nice little detail
"then...i am sorry...as well..."
Sams sympathy for blade wolf after realizing it's being forced to fight
I just realized how quick battles are when you actually know how to play
"Greetings Samurai, I am announcing my presence to you so my assassination attempt is harder."
Well, Sundowner's assassination on president Bumcrack Osama wasn't exactly quiet either, now was it?
0:30 I didn't know sewer water could look so beautiful
To be honest this AI doesn't seem that good except for inhuman self esteem. He was shamked by a dude in pajama, then reassembled and sent to counter a cyborg who already can-opened a metal gear, even BEFORE enhancements. Yet he still bragged about superior intellect.
It is really good, but he himself never had a desire to kill.
To be fair Sam and Raiden were just built different, they were so powerful that they both caught the attention of even Armstrong. Otherwise; Blade Wolf was incredibly successful on his other missions.
@@Depressosaur But Mistral says his kill count is dissappointing. Blade Wolf was indeed a flawed design that's why his line got discontinued
@@Breakaway-ic5gj That was before killing Khamsin and going on multiple missions with the other Winds of Destruction (Sam). The reason Blade Wolf kill count was disappointing is because he lacked the brutality of man, and had an air of defiance within him. This was likely entirely given up after his DLC to become an obedient slave before Raiden came along and reawakened his inner emotions and desires of freedom.
I mean to be fair is intellect is superiors its just he can never FULLY use it. He was shackled, chained up if you will.
I'm always laughing af when bladewolf fucking exploded after defeating him. Yet, he still shows up again later in lore
God when the guitar starts playing 👌👌👌
"Sam donates him to a kill shelter"
Why, that's bad.
Very bad.

People really slept on this game back in the day
I kinda wish he had a different theme in this fight or atleast didnt have the vocals
they’re all about freedom and wanting to live for yourself but blade wolf cant even comprehend any of that until Sam beats him lol
He definitely can he just doesn't have a choice. Thats clearly shown in the bladewolf dlc
@@playstationarusu yhea but bladewolfs dlc is after sams
@@chi6423 I don't think so. Correct me if I'm wrong, but Desperado started looking for Sam cause they needed a replacement for Khamsin, which Bladewolf killed in his DLC, so Sam's DLC probably happened after Bladewolf's DLC, but again, I could be wrong
@@pwm_vrt6 Wasn't Wolf's dlc only like moments before he meets Raiden in mission 2?
AYO I JUST REALIZED SINCE DURING RAIDEN FOUGHT BLADE WOLF RAIDEN SAID "AND YOU ARE?" WHICH SAM ALSO SAID LELEL
Yo you got to play on a harder difficulty my dude I'm playing on normal as soon as I spawn this dude knocks me down to 20
Parry like a madman. Bladewolf's attacks are too fast to go rushing in, so you gotta parry and wait for an opening. Even Bladewolf hints at it by saying "Use your intellect, evade my blows"
@@Tarri_Tokes use emp grenades to stun him when he uses his power where he splits, run around when he throws projectiles and parry his melees
I'm surprised I didn't die once during that boss fight honestly. He kept doing that dash move, and used his heated blades to throw at me. Lost count of how many times I'd block and parry.
you could have used that smoke grenade, taunt the boss when you get the chance and smoke, use the time to spam charged attack, drains the boss from 100 to 0
Perfect parry’s then using a charged attack or a combo is the key to tis fight, it’s a bit drawn out on hard and very hard because Sam does less damage but s rank is possible If you get those down. Especially revengance where perfects do a ton of damage
Sam trying to cheer up Wolf is such a "Aww ♥️" moment.
Indeed.
Sam sounds pretty winded at the end so Bladewolf must have given him a good fight.
that’s why they gave him a mask!
his mask is called a combat oxygen supplier so
I was.
Oh my god this cutscene is probably one of my favorites in the entire game.
I’VE BEEN LOOKING FOR THIS AS A NON MGR FAN, I SEARCHED EVERY NAME I KNEW TILL I WENT
“screw it, Jetstream Sam Vs Robot Dog”
AND FUCKING FOUND IT
absolutely badass!!!
I find it interesting how the vocals of this version of the track have a sense of reverb, to match their setting compared to, or even similar to the original.
I love the low version of Bladewolf’s theme right before the battle
one thing i just noticed is that at the end of the cutscenes, even Sam doesnt want to fight Blade Wolf, yet both are forced to fight regardless. makes me feel for Blade Wolf tbh.
Um dos melhores brasileiros, mesmo que fictício
when you get the hang of parrying the game becomes like playng an anime.
Yeah but parrying with sam is so hard as raidrn its so easy but this…

Honestly if sam got cybernetic enhancements like Raiden he would've easily soloed Raiden.
maybe, but most of his skill derives from his natural body maybe cybernetics would mess with that
Blade wolf might just be one of the most powerful characters, he could stand a fight against Sam and Raiden. Yes he died but then came back and withstood an explosion and a hit from Armstrong
I hate fighting blade wolf. He's such a great character. He's very straightforward and honest.
Sam didn’t want to fight him too
Rifthounds: I am sorry.....You must die
Me with a fully built Kazuha and rarely uses shields:
well I am sorry as well. I fight because I choose to.
Is it me or I can see a smiley face on Wolf mouth/eye?
3:31 Sam: No
The dialogue lasted longer than the fight💀
Sam is why going to Brazil is a threat
Damn sam really liked wolf
I do.
99% cutscene
1% fight
To be fair, this player is really good, so it makes sense that he could finish the fight so quickly
Seems he "does" know the reason he's standing here holding his blade
If I had a penny for each time bladewolf got destroyed I'd have 2 penny's, which isn't a lot, but it's weird it happened twice.

Sam is the Male Gaze
He looks like one of Red Faction series characters.
The fact that Sam's sheeth is upside-down shows he's not a Samurai but a badass weeb.
Don't know if this is intentional... It's a Metal Gear game made by Platinum games so it could be either or.
What?

Well, is he really weeb if he has japanese blood? Another thing, it's said that the way he carries the scabbard is the style of his kenjutsu school.
Everyone knows he is a Brazilian..
People keep thinking he is actually the weakest Brazilian male in the entire MGR:R franchise..

Am I the only one that thinks this fight is bullshit? He gently touches you and you instantly get locked into a thirty minute combo attack that takes half your health away
Both Sam and Wolf are kind of glass cannons, so I guess it just compounds. If you lay into him with the charged attacks Wolf goes down pretty quick too.
ok like I know I learned how to parry and breezed through the story on sicko mode just an hour ago but this piece of lightning garbage on hard mode is freaking next to impossible. And the camera constantly looking at the wall doesnt help dodging his 0.1 second interval attacks

what is this easy mode? you gotta be freakin kidding me.
HOW BLOCK ATTACKS?
Bad doggie.
This isn't even revengeance parry do 20% and everything else be doing like 1% for a full combo charged atacks do 4% in the combo or standalone or less for a few cases
i have seen this level before but with a cyborg man huh strange
