- These events take place before the history of the main game.
Armstrong and Monsoon became interested in Sam also known as Minuano, a Jetstream Sam who single-handedly cracked down on several drug cartels using only a sword.
They arranged for Sam's unimpeded arrival from Brazil to the United States in the city of Denver to recruit him.
An unsuspecting Sam arrives in Denver with the goal of destroying the headquarters of the World Marshal, who is connected to Desperado, and of course the main one who pulls the strings of Stephen Armstrong.
Sam didn't know what was waiting for him, and he had to go through a lot of tests before being personally interviewed by Armstrong.

love how Raiden's fighting style is more chaotic, and freestyle, while Sam is a lot more discipline and more 'realistic'
I love when in real life I charge my blade before lunging at them with a flurry of cuts too fast for the eye to see.

@@theTequilaMan raiden focuses on multiple blows to eventually enemy the opponent to pierce and brute force but sam tries to properly use his agility and finish people with one blow
@@dougman1067 yeah, Raiden style is self taught, not half bad, still his technique lacks something, something that Sam beautifully demonstrates in his gameplay: discipline and a proper sword style

Can we just take a moment to appreciate how badass the player was by side stepping the falling helicopters instead of slicing them? They really portrayed Sam’s character within the gameplay arguably more than in the cutscenes.

At 14:11 Sam thinks Armstrong is anticipating his attacks by alternating which arm the Nanomachines cover. Thats why Sam attacks the same side twice, he thinks Armstrong is going to switch sides. After this though, he confirms that it's the Nanomachines themselves which are spreading out independent of Armstrong, which allows him to eventually get a cut on Armstrongs Arm
The way sam drops his sword at 14:47 still gives me goosebumps to this day, that thing was wayy to painful.
Like after the first time i played his dlc my hand would hurt for some reason.
I was so angry when Sam defeated Armstrong in the boss fight and he was just lying there with no nanomachines while I begged Sam to just chop him in 100 pieces
I mean, back then nobody but Armstrong knew what nanomachines were or how they worked, Sam kind of figured it out but his aproach wasn't better than Raiden's
EDIT: Also, when you're fighting Armstrong and you call Doktor on the Codec (yes, you CAN use the Codec during boss fights, i recommend doing so) he has an idea on how Armstrong's nanomachines work, and gives Raiden a hint that he needs to take out his heart in order to kill him, Sam on the other hand, tried to be faster than the nanomachines' hardening so he could cut out Armstrong's limbs. As we all saw that didn't end well...

Like the Blade Wolf DLC, Sam's DLC also has a hidden boss.
During the final wave of his VR Mission 4 (the longest and the most difficult and frustrating VR Mission in the DLC), you get to fight a GRAD.

If it’s the one where the second phase has the 3 mastiffs (the apes that whoever developed, I will find you, put your consciousness into MGRR and make you fight all the mastiffs throughout the entire game all of the difficulties, all at once. You feels every bit of pain, and you don’t leave until you beat it in one go, no nano paste.) then I know exactly which one you’re talking about and I only got to the leg tank & LQ-84s wave before I just gave up.

It sucks jetstream sam had to die, in a perfect world he would fight along side raiden But it was needed. Sam didn't believe in himself in his second fight against raiden and his fight against Armstrong which is why if raiden proved to be better then he could inherit his sword on his quest against Armstrong which Sam had already failed at. The fight with Sam allowed raiden to believe in his cause and in his fight.

one small mistake i noticed in the first cutscene : jetstream sam shoots the murasama out of his sheath making that officer fly into the air .then he looks at the other officer and the blade magicaly apears back in his sheath and then in the next scene its gone again

@@mojewjewjew4420 He was not forced into anything. Sam was free to go and didn't want to and attacked Steven again, that's how he accepted it and not the fact that he was amputated. If he had cut off the senator's head, then he wouldn't have had to accept anything. Just like Steven could have impaled Sam's head and didn't. After Sam's attack, it became a contest of who wins and not of choice, because, as I said, Sam chose to stay. Steven's ideology is not one that preaches forced someone to do something, but the choice, to fight or not. Codec is more than 6 hours, with this you learn a lot about the history of the game.

Love how Sam said the same thing when raiden met blade wolf
I think what makes the details really nice is how Sam adjusts the dismemberment process between fighting Armstrong and Raiden (the first time of course).
Obviously when he cut Armstrong's hand off it left a sharp end which gave Armstrong the opportunity to surgically open up Sam's shoulder. After that, he adjusted it so that it wouldn't happen again, since we see that the remainder of Raiden's arm is just a clean horizontal cut. It's a pretty cool little detail that wouldn't have existed if not for the Sam DLC.
At 2:31 when Sam shots his sword out and when he looks at the other cop his sword is back Oops 😬
