Never in my life have I heard a basketball player who was really LIKE THAT duck smoke in 1v1. Basketball is a team sport but you don’t start off on a team, but rather in the backyard with your friends/ family running 1v1 or 3v3. Hell even KD will run 1v1 drills with current players and even younger players coming up. He’s not afraid to get scored on because he’s a pure HOOPER. You can’t call yourself the GOAT constantly and duck smoke at the same time because if he truly believed it, then he’d confident enough in his game to challenge ANYBODY. Imagine if Jordan said something like this, it would hurt his legacy. Lebron mentally weak.

Absolute facts. Like many others, I first began playing basketball on the dirt and grass with a basket attached to our shed. 1 on 1 and facing each other in shooting games (around the world and HORSE).
Lebron said that because he isn't a basketball player. He's just an athletic dude who happens to play basketball. You're 100% right to bring up fear. Lebron plays scared. That's why he won't play defense. He's afraid to be on the receiving end of a poster. While every other real basketball player risks that chance for the possibility of blocking that shot.

When the guy isn't consistent in freethrows 3 point shooting doesn't have a go to move in clutch moments and doesn't have a 1-1 bag to make those moments easier and has choked in the finals due to those limitations but noooo he got 40,000 points 6 final losses and still hasnt won more rings than kobe or jordan and yet he's the goat right? All other all time great would be dominant in 1v1. He's the most overrated fraud in all of sports. All he does and shoot the deep ball without any defender or stuff arm his opponent while driving hard to the basket while expecting a foul call every time. Th dude has no bag, and depends on his teammates and the refs. People need to stop putting him anywhere near the top 5-10 list. EVERY and I mean EVERY elite player loves a 1 on 1 situation because they get to show THEIR skills, and THEIR abilities to get a bucket, Lebron doesn’t have that. Lebron has no dribble moves to get open, Lebron doesn’t have any finesse in his game, you can’t play bully ball with the 2 dribble in the key.
One on one allows you to display your ISO game, but we already know Lebron always “makes the right play” so he don’t need to iso nobody

The NBA created this guy to prove that can make who they want a star. 40k point in 22 years with barely any scoring titles is weird. This guy calling one on one not basketball, is absurd and anyone cosigning that foolishness should never touch a court. Only scrubs say this stuff. Did he never play one on one or Utah(pick up game with 3 or more players, no teams)? This is a garbage coward take. His longevity in the game is commendable but then up look at how many games this guy missed by his 12th year. This guy was manufactured by the NBA, came in calling himself King James and calling himself the goat. Basketball started going down in the 2000's there were good teams here or there, but largely the NBA turned it into flag basketball, couldn't breathe on the handler. The amount of flopping i saw from this guy, who's as big as he is just screams soft. He needs load management, while also missing games for no real reason. Nonsensical in season tournament to give this guy accolades. Literally, the special Olympics NBA. Crutch zone defense for folks who can't stick their assignment on defense. Overpaid divas is what this sport has evolved into.
LePlant watered by the NBA to try to prove they hold the power to make stars. MJ and others who used their skills and abilities, showed their greatness and had the NBA by the balls(literally). NBA didn't like that and they didn't want another Jordan coming in and being the face of the NBA and not their chosen one!

Hilarious since the lebron offense mainly consists of him dominating the ball while everyone stands watching. Sounds like 1 on 1 to me 😅😅😅

Are we really surprised that he feels that way given that he has no one on one skill set?

He considers flopping real basketball but doesn't consider 1 vs 1 to be real basketball. Lebron is not the goat

You’re forgetting though that he VOWED to compete in the dunk content, on live tv on TNT during all-star weekend sometime between 2008-2010, but then chickened out from doing it the following year.

Team basketball is not the essence. Professional leagues brought that aspect imo.
