Hey Jimmo, great vid as always..the dirt problem is always a concern. I always blow the jobs off real good before they come in the booth, and that produces a pretty clean job. Plus keeping the booth clean. Maybe bring the base and clear in the booth so you don't have to go in and out as much. Your right his spraying technique is a little stiff, and I would have walked the whole car as well. Especially with the clear, you run the risk of that overlap buildup up where your gonna get a sag. The job turned out real good though. He will be fine! Keep those vids coming, very informative!
have your brother watch the JON KOSMOSKI video of the Camaro paint job and he will be an expert in no time, watching him not walk the whole length scared me to death, those really heavy hues like red, black and metallic will kick your ass and its possibly a do over and that sucks bad, make him sit down and watch a genius painter in action,i've painted over 160 cars since I watched JON, and they all turned out fine, good day
Just stumbled up on this video, the dust problem in a spray booth is somthing i find a bit strange,i sprayed numorous jobs in my backyard garage where i just make a tent with static painters plastic and never had that much dust, clean well before you go in and tac whipe it followed by a microfiber cloth seconds befor you spray and you should be fine,i olso wet the floors becouse i dont have the sucktion like a booth would have and dont want overspray on my floor to rise back up again.
Was thinking about buying the 5000 HVLP I own the 5000RP for clear. Does the HVLP do a good job on metallics and pearls, I currently use a tekna prolite for base not sure if you have one or not but if so how do you think the 5000 HVLP stacks up against the Tekna for base? We are shooting PPG Enviro base. What tip size are you using on the 5000 HVLP?
Jimmo, it's your friend paul from Canada...... You were the first guy I saw a year ago on Internet that's " real world" and u demonstrate everything well. U call penalties on yourself! Gold, but " clearly" u are awesome and def keep making the videos ..... Ps. I have a whole r-m paint system I acquired and curious if u can tell me what type of reducer to use with the base color " solvent" ..... I've seen many guys use any brand of reducer and have no trouble?
no newer matter how him paint upside down or 10 deg or 45 deg or 90 deg, if tank have full paint come good out, no matter how you paint if paint go to car panel not you face.
Call off the missing person report everyone. Jimmo is alive

Too much overlapping on those edges....be careful...put some gloves on bro..watch the hood strings..
Somebody need spelling correction before commenting. If you know so much why not make a video?

Thanks for sharing !
your prep guy didn't sand blend areas properly
He should have just covered everything in the right shade of sealer and melted the edges with some reducer, viola!
