I have a suggestion for future reviews: When you do the Grip Test Ramp, do two tests with the shoe positioned facing the ground and then facing the wall. I feel like some shoes have patterns that work better left-to-right than front-to-back, and it'll obviously affect the overall score of traction. Basketball isn't a linear-only sport after all.
This current line of Adidas is really impressing me. I think in the past year I have purchased more Adidas (If you include Yeezy's) than Nike. I want these along with my AE1's now and the Dame one's are on my Radar having seen a pic of them. After I watch the Foot doctor breakdown of course. Thanks again FDZ!
Zach. I honestly valie your input. I am a Highschool Varsity Basketball coach and have an 11 year old player. Anytime I have purchased my son's shoes in the past 2 uears i have 1st come here prior to making our decision. Thanks for your content and non biased opinions. Your material is great!
Impressed by the observation of the functionality of the seemingly insignificant synthetic leather toe cap. Not that I questioned it before, but what great attention to detail. Another great review! Thanks!
Thanks for addressing concerns for the barefoot community Zach. This reaffirms my beliefs on what I’m doing right now. I will normally walk and run on barefoot shoes, but when it comes to hooping, I wear my usual basketball shoes for performance and stability.
they play really well, 5'9" 140-ish and normally play in lighter shoes but the heft of the hardens was a pleasant surprise. worn with move gameday insoles and transitioning from the sabrina's, these felt bouncy and the insole felt like it made more sense in the shape of the hardens. the laces pinch a little at the top of my foot so gonna try out some different lacing patterns but that's a "me-problem"
Would also love if you went back in time to check out the harden Vol 3, many would consider harden’s best shoe (ig before the last two lol). Great Vid Doc‼️
I haven’t felt this excited for a sneaker since the Nike Kobe 9 Elite. I can’t wait to cop a pair of these. Gonna wait for the green ones! Adidas so far has been killing it. Took them a while, but I’m so happy they are getting their dues after many years of Nike fan boys destroying them. Especially after what happened with DRose.
I went down half a size, and they fit just right. The shoe review game is dope, but sizing reviews should be thrown out bc EVERYONES' foot is shaped differently
Loved the easter egg lol! I think easter eggs like this should be placed randomly on the video tho. For me the vol. 8s are better than the AE1s but the vol. 7s are just different! Been playing for a year with them now outdoors and they dont have any signs of wear at all (just dirty). Are there any shoes similar to the 7s (great courtfeel, lockdown, grippy traction, excellent support, heavy but very light on foot) but is more springy in step even if it is low to the ground? Would also be great if they're actually lighter. Thanks doc!
I love the look and the overall design of those shoes so much. But unfortunately it's unstable and easy to roll over/ sprain the ankles in comparison to the Vol. 7. The rounded lateral outsole of the Vol. 8 isn`t doing it for m. Also the much wider heel of the Vol. 7 is just so much more protective. That was the reason I returned them. Maybe I'll buy them again if they're going on sale.
Best pair of bball shoes that I currently own. At least for my age and weight. Bit on the older side at 5’8 210. After I play ball in these shoes, I have no immediate pain in my knees nor the next day. And I also play occasionally in way of wade 808 2 ultra v2s and KT8s and both of those shoes cushioning don’t come close to the volume 8s. I like these so much I have 3 pairs 😂. And no, I don’t work for Adidas. I also have a pair of KT9s I haven’t worn. But I’d heard the from this channel that the cushioning on those kicks are also pretty good? I’ll update this comment after I’ve worn those shoes at least couple of times. Looking forward to your next video Foot Doctor!
I just got these and they are a tad big, I wear size 11 in nike and got an 11 in these and I have just a bit of extra dead space that i want to fill up to prevent heel slippage, is there anything I can do to fill them up just enough to have them feel good?
It would be awesome to see you review a bunch of classic shoes from the beginnng of basketball through to what companys are making now. : ) Little mini series on shoe history or something along those lines!
Best sneaker amongst 4 basketball sneaker giants…Adidas, Nike, Jordan, and Under Armour. 😮💨🔥🔥 Also, I’d definitely recommend going a half size down lol. These definitely run long. ‼️‼️ But I guess it might be preference because I do not like any wiggle room in my hooping sneakers lol. 👍🏾👍🏾
Severe over pronator friendly? No Torsion? So how's the midfoot cushion/stability? I think I snoozed some doc. Enough room for an ankle brace? Thinking DON might be better all around?
Hi, your vdo is so detailed and informative, really like it :) And may I ask, I am currently owning a curry 10, which I really like the shoes, will the harden 8 good for me as well?
@@FootDoctorZach thanks, ye this was my next guess, it also definitely has to do with that last top hidden lace lock, it’s right where my ankle skin has been getting peeled off. if it is just the foam that’s causing the issue tho you think this digging/pain would lessen with break in? i really like this shoe beside that one issue, it’s like the perfect cushioning balance which really draws me to it and i wanna give it another chance.
Hey just another shoe dork here just wanna ask whats the best or coolest colorway of the vol 8 in your opinion guys? Planning to cop one of these bad boys

Hey Zach, I'm hoping for some advice. In the last couple of years I've started to infrequently get turf toe through playing basketball. I was wondering if you had any recommendations re shoes/orthotics/supports for managing and preventing it?
Hey Zach I play university basketball in Canada so pretty high level and almost every shoe I buy (most have been nike), I break through the insole pretty quick. Wondering what shoe has the best insoles and is still good or if you know incoles I could buy that are good.
Hi Zach, I'm from Vietnam, where almost basketball players play basketball outdoor. I don't really know about the midsole a lot, but what's the difference between bouncy and absorb midsole? I got a knee pain, so would you recommend some basketball shoes for cement outdoor and for knee pain please? thank you so much. And if anyone has some suggestions, all are welcome!!! Thank you.
Hello doctor Zach i got a question, what shoe do you recommend that's lightweight bouncy, has really good traction durability, and all right lockdown? Also, I have a flatter arch, and I'm a guard.
Please, Doc Zac , whatever it is , please dont cut the Kai 1 in half .. Im already jealous that some people got them and I can't get them here in Australia 😢
Would these be fine for someone with Hallux Rigidus? The Jordan 38 low has been great for this issue but I'm wondering I'd like to try something from Adidas, either AE1 or Harden 8.
I think the hardens would be as good as anything else- anything that has a longer shank and supportive foam in the forefoot is going to be my favorite.
I don't get how you fit any orthotic in these... If they have paper thin insoles then the space inside is designed for such paper thin insoles, so when you swap those for any orthotic than that will take away from the volume designed for your foot ... That means you have to at least go up half a size to feet your foot in ...
I haven’t even tried the new Adidas bounce or whatever because the old bounce or whatever they called it foam was way too squishy it would cause my feet cramp because there was no it was too squishy I don’t wanna say that say that
@@Romans-310 yeah I still have the D rose 7s. They have boost, and even at my light weight I felt it bottoms out. They did figure out how to use the boost by now. Its just a little heavy.

I was very impressed with Harden Vol 7 after buying it. Watching this video made it easier for me to choose an upgrade.
Bruh I don’t know how anyone plays in the Harden 7, I tried them on and they had literally no cushion in the forefoot, weirdest shoe ever
@@kieransoregaard-utt8I have them many said they comfy and they are since I’m heavier i so feel the cushion and it’s quite nice
