You gotta check out "Kickapoo". Meatloaf and Dio both cameo in the video
brother in the camraderie/found-family sense yeah
Like in a "brothers in arms" meaning, yes
If I could have half the energy Jack Black has, I'd get a week's worth of chores done in a day! He's so all over the place, but I love it! Tenacious D does a ton of storytelling in their music. I like to call them bards of rock.
Ben Stiller did a cameo in this video because he was in the movie "Pick of Destiny" from which this song is derived. The movie is the story of Tenacious D.
Tribute was released many years before pick of destiny 🙄
"Brotha" as in friend not sibling lol
Ahhhhhh... that makes more sense 😂
But he uses "brother" which to me insinuates a much closer relationship than just a "brotha". I know he and Kyle have been through a lot together.
When they play it live, they have an addition guitar player playing the electric guitar and playing the solo.
These guys have a ton of great songs. The subject is always comedic, but the actual songwriting is pretty solid. I remember an interview he did years ago where he mentioned he'd been doing this since way back before he made it as an actor and that the then-current iteration of Tenacious D played the wrap party for the movie "Dead Man Walking" back in the early '90's where Jack Black played Sean Penn's younger brother and Sean Penn asked him why they didn't play serious music because the band was obviously good enough to be more than a comedic act and he said that he told Sean Penn that they'd actually tried to be a serious band before but it didn't feel right so they went back to comedy.
Next up you gotta do "The Devil Went Down To Georgia"
Really fun and funny!!
Teskey Brothers "Rain"
Ben stiller is in here just walking by and David Grohl is the Demon
I think the song and the album pictured were from 2001. And the devil was played by Dave Grol, as I'm sure many people are going to tell you. It does seem that the actual Greatest Song that they're referencing is Stairway to Heaven. Many other songs they've done have had... raunchier language.
I highly suggest you react to their movie, or at least the scenes for Kickapoo, master exploder, and beelzeboss. The movie is a sort of musical comedy
You need to react to kickapoo... Also a song if "pick of destiny" and a collab of Jack black, meatloaf and ronny James dio... IMHO 3 gods of the rock Olymp...
😂😂❤
