Will never forget that experience. It's so hard and so sad. I have known so many cases, thet are left alone at the Ltac hospital then hospice. Their family, husbands, wives left them. Literally they can't take care of the patients and its so damn expensive. I knew a young guy who is only 25 currently, got shot at the neck but luckily survived. He is now paralyzed and vent dependant. He became a very cranky person because you know they can't move and still feel any damn pain. His wife left him home for a week and he got admitted with severe back wound and was in all contact isolation: cdiff, lice...i wish people have compassion for all other people. Im young but already signed: do not trach me. Don't know what to say but Thanks Robin Cavendish and Terry Hall and his family.
Definitely going to watch this tonight!! My son was born premature and has a tracheostomy. He started spending time off of his ventilator in April and is now off during all waking hours. I am grateful for this man and his family for paving the way for trach and vent patients to come home!

He should've got one for last year, not for Hacksaw Ridge, which he by the way was great in, but for his role in Silence. If you haven't yet seen it, DO. I dare to say it's already a cinema classic and Garfield did the best acting last year by far in all honestly!
I respectfully disagree, Garfield was miscast in Silence, and I didn't believe in him at any point. The film is a brave stab, but falls short of the merits of the novel.
