I can’t tell you how much this helped. No one tells you there is no stop switch when it’s coming up. That you have to let go at the appropriate time. Thank you so much.
Those clevis pins have a way of coming loose and when it does it is goodbye anchor. I take some bare solid strand 12awg wire and run it through the hole in the clevis pin and tie it around the clevis that way the pin doesn't get too loose and fall out. Thanks for the tips I will be installing another unit on the back corner of my pontoon boat. Had one at the front for 20 years now.
The new Deckhand 40 came today and it has mounting hardware included. The rubber washers that come with it are about 1/4" thick. It says right on the box "mounting hardware included." Made a template like Burkholder showed in "Easy deckhand 40 anchor install."

Don’t need a templet..just set the minn Kota, and add pen marks to when you need to drill
Enjoyed the video. But what about two electric anchors on the back of an aluminum bass boat. One on each side in the rear?
I have a power pole n the back, but Id rather have another electric anchor instead
I actually just posted a 1 year review on this anchor the other day
Can you put any chain on it? An anchor is pretty useless without some chain on it!
What male wire connector did you use to connect MinnKota to the battery?
Would you buy this product again? Are you happy with it and is it reliable?
i have 24 ft boat fiberglass i use it in seawater. do you think this Winch can do the job or I should stay away from it ?
I think they make a salt water version. You might want to go with something more heavy duty
It now comes with mounting hardware and rubber mounting washers. I just purchased two units. 3-17-24
Nice
Junk
How strong the battery and what about for a 5,000 lb boat is that anchor will work?
a regular battery works fine, put a 25pound anchor on it for your boat
Can you mount the electric anchor mount on the back of the boat? Or how do you anchor the back of your boat?
you can mount it either side, I have a talon in the back
Does anyone have a picture of the inside wiring? My brother totally ignored the advice.
great video! Thank you so much!
thanks for watching
Can we use for seawater

You always see the DHs with the mushroom anchors. Still trying to figure out if it would work at all with a box anchor - MK has been no help so far.
I'm hoping mine will work with a 30lb navy style anchor. I guess we'll see. I wouldn't trust a mushroom anchor to hold me in any current.
Sweet
Seems like some good tips. I thought the washers might be thicker.
It works great, just make sure you use a heavy anchor, and get your washers at an industrial store where they have thicker and better quality ones
Thanks 👍
No problem 👍
Is this ok for a fiberglass boat ?
I'm not sure..you may need some wood for reinforcement
