I highly recommend voxel sniper for smoothing out the landscape with a combination of the world edit smooth tool. It has multiple functions with enhance your landscape rather than creating repetitive patterns.
Sky-islands seems so unrealistic, but when you think about it... the world is floating just like a sky-island. I'm getting a weird feeling every time I think about stuff like that. It's tarifering yet so fascinating!
You should make islands that are themed to lure in each Yogscast member! A Jaffa or mining island for Simon, an island full of flux for Duncan and Kim, and so on : )
I actually like the dense trees, it makes the whole place darker and scarier, and it really fits in with the graveyard and medieval buildings, it could be the scary island
Have an island where you leave random holes to make it just that tad more intense but add for example good loot to make it worth the risk. It would make that island soooooo hectic, it would be so much fun
I think you should trim down a bit of that forest, but you should make a huge extremely dense jungle/forest on another island, maybe even make it so there are multiple levels formed by the tree's branches or something. would be a lot of work, but i think it would look awesome!

a cool idea is that, like in hunger games 2 were at different times different events happen you could have command blocks changing the time weather occasionally. for example 7 mins into the game it goes foggy for the spooks, 10mins in heavy rain 15 mins in overcast and so on... probs want to do this off camera as i don't know how long command blocks take to set up
If sjin only ever did let's build videos I'd be okay with that, he really has an eye for this kind of thing. I remember he's build of erebor and lake town that was awesome

I always feel like its really nice just to sit down relax and watch a beautiful creation taking form. also these videos get my creative juices flowing. appreciate the hard work you put into making these and I hope these other people de too.
Sjin, I love these videos. To create worlds from nothing but ideas is my dream. I want to be a videogame designer, and when I see you build worlds with nothing but blocks and the ideas in your head, it inspires me. I know videogame designing is alot different then building in minecraft, but I see videogame designing as taking your ideas and building them up one by one until you get a finished product just like blocks! :D Keep doing what your doing, my friend. I think you should have and underground mine system on one of the islands as this will really vary the combat and make it hard for people to run away from each other
You need to do a Jungle island, with temples and tombs and a desert island with either a mesa or Egyptian theme - why not both? that would be awesome to see some sort of jungle style stalking! :D thanks sjin
Forests and corners are a good thing, planets of barriers and obstacles like trees add suspense and fear,"where am I, where are my friends, am I safe?" Anyone could be around any corner and neither of you could know the other one was there, in Survival games thing need to be CHALLENGING, just not impossible P.S what is the theme. For the next island?
How about an island that is a floating crumbling castle? I picture narrow corridors, hidden rooms and traps that can be triggered by players to get other players. It would allow a player in a bad position to plan some good ambushes.
I think you should leave those trees how they are it makes it more emersive and just looks really good and it adds a challenge for people that play on the map and adds new escape routes or ambushes and it would be really nice to see just how you guys use them to your advantage.
Well since things have been abandoned things have grown so I think it would make sense to have more trees. I understand what your saying but having more trees would add more places to hide chests

I think it would be smart to make sure there are several bridges leading from the main island. Otherwise there would be nowhere safe to go to escape the Cornucopia bloodbath.

PLEASE OH PLEASE MAKE HOGWARTS!! It would be such a detailed and grand build. I mean, you'd have to take reference from both the books and movies. You'd have to research all the secret passage ways and use a lot of clever redstone for the "magic" and probably some mods to make it even better. Sure it would be a pretty long series but I would watch every damn episode especially with YOU making it!
I don't know if all of the islands will be medieval or not but they won't be you could maybe make an island that seems like it's all just ruins but it actually has an advanced hidden lab or something like that. Also if you are looking for music to play on the stream, I think the soundtrack of The Yawhg would be really good although that might be an issue with copyright an stuff like that? I don't really know.
For the main island, I was thinking maybe you could add some Twilight Forest animals and insects with a gate so they don't come across the bridge. The trick would be how to get the gate to open. Hmmm....
I feel like these trees need to be in small copses, sparsely spaced on this island, with tall grass and normal grass covering a good part of the grass blocks, almost Savannah-like, but lush green instead of golden yellow/brown. Flowers will ruin the theme.
Sjin will all the islands have a medival theme or every special.. If all of your islands will be medival themed, you can make a island with the Hord theme from WoW and you can make this new island the Alliance. If this helped you can I plzzz help you build.
you should of made the players have to run and jump out of separate holes in the mountain, through the waterfall, meaning they cant plan or see where they are going, heighten the outsides and make it so they have to swim to the otherside of the lake to get out
I know this is really too late, but you should change the biome of that area to desert or savannah so the grass/leaves have a lighter colour. Would suit the area better.
Are you going to put this up for download after you're done, Sjin? I would love to have this map to sort of have as 'homework' to study. Also, it's just a frickin' awesome map! :P
