One of the reasons the jumpscare at 22:36 is so effective is because the player has agency in it. Most jumpscares happen *to* you, whereas that one waits for you to do something. If you're making the movements, it's far more likely that your guard is somewhat down.
Also having something really close while the player is looking into the distance
Also just about every other anomaly in the game happens outside the car which conditions you to think car = safety only for *this* to happen

22:37 actually made me drop my plate on the floor, which smashed into thousands of pieces... I can flinch when I'm watching horror games and get jumpscared, but I've never jumped as hard as I did when that happened. Holy shit and fuck me I got one less plate now.

Best Exit 8 game thus far. All of the anomalies were made in such a way that you could see them as if you were driving normally.

I feel like the has to do with Hypnotherapy, which is a type of therapy to help someone become more aware, which kind of goes along with the whole Exit 8/Route 8 gameplay where you have to pay attention to things.

They need to cut down the transition time between passes by literally 15 seconds. _At least._ It's crazy how long it takes between turning right or left and getting back to the sign for the next drive through. (It looks like you went to the trouble of editing out some of that time for this video, which is awesome.)
I think the number 5 road sign was spinning on the one you missed. That's what it looked like to me anyway. This was fun to watch. She scared the crap outta me. Lol

The story feels like you play as a guy who was in a car crash because he fell asleep and his wife and child died in the crash and he was the only survivor.

Would love to see you follow-up on this to get all the remaining anomalies. Maybe also try intentionally making the wrong choice when you know there's an anomaly, like maybe the hitchhiker or the one with a bunch of people crossing signs (and especially with the woman staring at you), to see if it does something special like it does with hitting the deer.

he surely hasn't played Mario Kart 8 in the Animal Crossing track, all racers are ants compared to the villagers... is so funny. also, the only difference I noticed when he was looking at the " Go Home" was the trees shifting, but not totally sure...

Insym failed at 30:20 because the sign that tells you what route you are on was facing the car instead of facing sideways like normal. 29:35 sign facing car*
I saw it too, but it's kinda weird i went thru a list of all the anomalies and the only one this could be, would be 1. rotating sign, but later on ( 42:37 ) u can see 1. not unlocked
