You must visitThe Reaching Out Cafe in Hoi An, all staff are deaf and believe that tea should be enjoyed in silence, it was one of the best experiences I had while travelling and heightens your senses, a really enjoyable time thatIthink you would both enjoy

Hoi An looks like a fun time! Definitely on my list of places to visit in Vietnam. Do you prefer Da Nang or Hoi An? ☺️

Great question Milla! Both are great, Da Nang is definitly more of a big city. There is a nice beach! We stayed in a local area which was really neat. I think we prefer Hoi An though, there is just so much to do, you are in walking distance of most things, the old town is so beautiful and there is lots of great food options. (all things we love :) )

Didn't know cao lau noodles had wheat in them. I assumed they were made of rice as most noodles in Vietnam are rice-based. I would think it's rice with tapioca flour, but then again, I believe the noodles are like Japanese udon, so that would make sense if wheat was used. Other places you guys could have tried to eat at are Ba Le Well, Morning Glory, Nu Eatery, etc. Lots of great places to eat there, for sure.

Thanks for the restaurant recommendations :) we also obviously did not know they were gluten free as it is true most noodles in Vietnam have been rice or tapioca based…we learned our lesson 🤷‍♀️😂

I love the blue and white lantern! That place you went for lunch looks awesome! However, you guys ate the banh xeo and the pork skewer incorrectly. In Vietnam, most foods like that are to be wrapped with a base layer of greens and herbs, then dipped. Vietnamese folks often call banh xeo a pancake, but it's more like a crepe. And yeah, I'd be annoyed if one person after another asks me the same question, especially if they just saw another person ask you that.

Loved the lantern making. They turned out great and what a fun idea. The place looked beautiful at night but too busy for my liking. The boats in the river did look funny - and they were wearing life jackets.

It was very busy! We were not expecting that many people, I guess it’s very popular! Thanks for watching Libby :)

Any chance of link (or name, even) to the restaurant you went to for lunch (in the old heritage building)?
