Trying LOCAL Vietnamese Food in HOI AN

- After traveling South East Asia for over 1 year we have finally joined our first food tour (something we should have done a long time ago). We got to try so many great local Vietnamese dishes and snacks.

Hey, we're Eoin and Aisling, a couple from Ireland who have packed their bags, waved goodbye to home and set off to travel the world in search of new adventures!
We started our journey by spending 3 months walking from the top to the bottom of Croatia and exploring a few of the boarding countries. Then at the start of January 2022 we hopped on a flight to South East Asia!

The guide should have shown you guys how to eat the banh beo and the other stuff wrapped in banana leaves better. You use the bamboo stick to run it around the edges of the small bowl to loosen the batter, add the fish sauce, and eat the whole thing. If you ever go back, do a real food tour like the one Steph and Pete did whilst there. That was one of the best food guides I've seen. The best guides I've seen in Hanoi were from Flora and Notes's video as well as MomDuty. And the best out of HCMC/Saigon was from Chase and Shelbs (their video is an hour long, though).
If you're just wanting to eat at restaurants around the area, try Bale Well (saw it in Attila and Zae's video and it look delish!), Nu Eatery, Morning Glory, there are about 3 great banh mi restaurants in Hoi An, white dumplings are famous there...lots of great eats in that area.

Another place for great food is the Circle Cafe. They have their own version of soft shell tacos that are delicious! Their specialty is the Juicy Lucy burgers with different toppings such as peanut butter and bacon, garlic and blue cheese, Ect. My favorite is the Kimchee Jung un which is a fantastic cheeseburger topped with Kimchee (sounds weird but is wonderful) they also have pulled pork sandwiches and many other dishes! Also cocktails and a variety of cold beer served in ice cold frosted mugs! The young lady that owns the place named Ann is very friendly and helpful as is the young man (named Ring ) that waits tables. Try it you'll be happy you did!

Alot of amazing food to be found in Hoi an! The street food is great! My favorite restaurant for steak is the Hoi An Steak House! It's not cheap but it's the best steak I've ever had! For really good local food try TUAN'S Restaurant, the white rose is delicious as an appetizer. My favorite dish I'd the Lemongrass chicken. They have a great selection of vietnamese dishes also good hamburgers and French fries!

Vietnam is still a poor country and that’s why I think you’ll find a lot of fillers (like rice flour and vegetables) in most of the food there. I guess it may not taste good to some foreigners, but it helps fill the local stomachs from a long time ago till now. I’m surprised you found the food tasty.
Stranger come here ! I hope you will not come to Vietnam, As your name is Vietnamese but….better you should change your name ! The foreigner come they love the foods, love the cultures here& they enjoy it but you’r not. My advise: Whatever you go, remmember your root from? Only slight your own origin it make you happy?😉
