Dude thanks for the video! I barely had to consult the instructions your install was so straightforward
Thanks for the feedback! Glad it helped you out.
Finally!!! I just recieved my AWE track catback in the mail. I've been stressing a bit cause I couldn't find a step by step video for my car, and I was unsure about a few steps. I'm installing mine tomorrow, so this came in clutch. Thanks for making this video.
Awesome! Hope it helps you out!
Jesus christ that sounds good
Awesome video man. Finally a good quality video for a tutorial on this car
Glad you liked it!
Thanks for the video. I used it to put my sons exahust on.
Nice vid bro, helped me get ready when I installed mine.❤️
What size sockets did you use? Just a 13?
I completely agree with you there’s not much videos on how to remove and replace your exhaust. Got a 2011 and will see if it’s similar.
I just order the track edition from awe, cant wait to get it on
has it came in yet?
@@krave3708 not yet like 1-2 more weeks i think
thanks for this and the follow up video! just installed mine on my GLI today.
Good guy right here
I needed this. So the downpipe is different from this exhaust. I'm going to install a aftermarket downpipe
Awesome!!! I love this exhaust system. I had it on my MK5 Wolfsburg amazing sound!!!
I tried to install myself a few months ago after watching your video like 5 times. Well I couldnt cut the pipe LOL I struggled but I got my downpipe in and then just had a shop do the exhaust lol
Haha the cut can be a little tricky and it takes a while if you don't have a good angle on it. Glad you got it all installed though.
Which shop?
@@icyaudi3451 local shop. I don’t even know tbh. It’s a small shop that only does exhaust stuff in the coconut creek area.
@@MK6CHRIS ohhhh I just ordered a track exhaust and I don’t know if I’m gonna have the tools to install it so I’m hoping I can find someone to borrow from or a local shop to put it on I just don’t know where I live in Austin Texas
@@icyaudi3451 you should be good , I tried with a hand tool. If I cut it, I could of installed it. But a shop would do it for less than $100. I have exhaust videos on my channel of the exhaust if you want to hear
Awesome video bro. Especially for your first time🤙🤙🤙
"I sprayed wd-40...."
Me, a mechanic: "I bought air tools" 😅
I ordered by mistake the street version instead of touring. And tbh it does sound and feel great. No drone. Im surprised on how quiet the exhaust is.
i'd remove the SE badge. just my opinion, car looks clean and exhaust sounds good. also random fact, but as far as im aware only USA vw models come with the names s or se and stuff, in europe its trendline - highline - execline so on, with no badging to indicate
True, I was wondering that myself, I have a 2015 1.8 TSI comfortline in Canada 🇨🇦, no SE badge, but I am coming to understand that mine would be an SE in the USA, ... I don't have the rear spoiler but would like that, and this exhaust would be awesome 😀
Great video man! Overall how long was the install?
Thanks! If i wasn't trying to make a video also at the time I bet I could have done it in 2 hours or less.
Very informative. Would you know if it's the same procedure for mkvl 2.0 GLI?
Visit awe-tuning.com and search for your year, make and model. The instructions should be downloadable.
Great vid! What spoiler do you have on your jetta, and if aftermarket where did you purchase it (with link)
That one actually came stock on the 18’ Sport model.
i have a 2014 jetta 1.8l and i cannot wait to hear it, but question should i install a cold air intake first then exhaust or does it not matter?
In my opinion it doesn’t matter the order you do them in. Might be nice doing them individually so you can hear/feel the difference when you get them both on.
Awesome tutorial bro! quick question, did you paint/dip/wrap your rear logo? I'm thinking about doing mine and don't know the best way to go, I have the exact same car as you lol
Sorry just saw this but I used plasti dip. Masked off the gloss black part and only sprayed the actual VW letters. Makes for a nice matte/glass contrast.
Hey there, have the same car and wondering what boot lip you’re using? Great vid btw
Thanks! That lip came stock on the ‘18 1.8t sport edition.
wow that sounds good!
Good job man!
I wonder if the 1.8T Mk6 AWE exhaust is a direct fit for the 2.5 Mk6. It looks identical. There’s one for sale near me, but I’m hesitant because I’m not sure if it’ll direct bolt.
You could always reach out to @awetuning and ask them. I'm sure they would be more than willing to help you out with the fitment or at least a find a compatible one to keep an eye out for.
Great video. Thank you !
Are you able to link the items you used?
I tightened the clamps all the way but it still not very secure. Any tips?
I ran into same issue. Once I fixed that now exhaust tips are touching bumper.
Can’t wait to do mine
Hey man from where did you bought this exhaust and also from where did you bought that rear spoiler lip please?
Exhaust is direct from AWE Tuning website. Spoiler is stock on 2018 1.8t Sport trim.
@@TimVChannel oh okay thanks for the reply man, may I know how much was the exhaust kit please? And will it fit 2014 model?
Does anyone know how i would attach a cts downpipe to this exhaust?
Hey where did you get that rear lip spoiler? Looking for one ,thanks
That came stock on the 18 year sport models.
Hello I have the exact same car with same trim same rims was wondering if you added a intake?
Stock intake with K&N drop in panel filter.
Why did you cut the exhaust instead of just unclamping the mid section and remove the whole thing?
The pipe goes up and over the subframe with muffler on one end and resonator on the other so you can’t just pull it out like that.
Aren't those red car jacks the one's that were recalled??
Patrick F Yes they are. Good eye. I took them back and got $5 more than what I paid.
@@TimVChannel Well that's good! Nice video too. Very easy to understand what's going on when you were working through the removal/install.
how does this work if you have a down pipe as well? It's a 3 inch down pipe and Im worried that it wont fit that inlet piece thing you used to take it from the Factory 2 icnh down pipe to the 3 inch exhaust that it won't fit right. Or is that not what that inlet thing does,
The inlet adapter definitely wouldn't work for you. AWE discontinued their downpipe for the MK6 so you may have to reach out directly to them and see if they have an adapter they can include in your kit.
Where did you get that exhaust system?
AWE Tuning website
How’d you do the headlights/taillights?
How’d you black the emblem ?
Lights are stock still. Emblem was plastidip on the chrome letters and left the underside gloss black.
@@TimVChannel that’s crazy those tail lights look great
Does anyone know if this same exhaust would fit an Audi A3 8V 1.8T?
How much?? I want to go stage 2 with my 16
That is a mk6 ?... I have a 2017 but I do not know if they are mk6
MK6 is the 6th generation Jetta. So any Jetta model year 2011-2018 is a MK6. If you have a 2017 Jetta then it is MK6.
what size of sockets did you use?
Nice !
🔥🔥🔥🔥
Out of all the videos I watched this sounds louder than the track exhaust which has one less muffler
Track is way louder in person. Remember this was a cold start and once it reaches idle it’s pretty quite. Very low note in low rpms and nice aggressive sound in higher rpms. Perfect for a daily IMO.
@@TimVChannel is it really? thats good to hear. i wanted to go with the track because im keeping stock downpipe so wanted that extra noise
how much price this exhout system
Would anyone happen to know a solution for the clamp over the suspension cover not tightening enough and causing the muffler/tips to twist? Im not finding a solution anywhere i look
It probably needs to be tightened more past recommended torque. That’s the only thing keeping it from rotating since there isn’t an additional hanger to brace it.
Where can I buy the kit you show in the video?
www.awe-tuning.com
Do you know if this kit would work with a 2019 Jetta SE?
i have 2.0 115 engine and it is like a rabbit a bit fast only
What tips are those ? Name/model
AWE Diamond Black Tips
@@TimVChannel do you think someone could buy just the tips without the rest of the package ?
i’ll pay you to install mine 😂😂 fly to NC
what size r the bolts for the middle clamp
Honestly can't remember. It's just a stock VW exhaust sleeve clamp so you should be able to look it up on vw parts.
👍👍👍👍
I KNOW MY COMMENT IS LATE BRO BUT STARTING OFF YOU WASNT ABLE TO MAKE THAT INITIAL EXHAUST CUT BECAUSE YOU HAVE THE WRONG TYPE OF DISC SET UP ON THE GRINDER. YOU ARE USING A GRINDING DISC USED TO GRIND DOWN METAL . YOU HAVE TO USE A "CUTTING DISC" WITH THE GRINDER.
Hey man, how much did this cost you?
Im installing it tonight, it's around $850, the black tips are a extra 50 compared to the steel ones
Yup it was about $850 shipped.
I’m still waiting on that exhaust video lmao
That video is way past due lol I'll have it out in the next week or so.
@@TimVChannel How does the exhaust sound while you are driving? I think the model that you have is automatic so I am trying to compare the sound of the touring on a manual vs automatic.
Where you order that exhaust bro
From AWE tuning site.
Which size sockets did you use?
Bro why didn't you rev the car
Where are the wheels from ?
Those are factory wheels for 2018 1.8 sport
Could you post link
Hello can you help me
Só faltou ligar
Didn’t even rev it
She got what she wanted 🍭
Please do my car for free🤦🏽♂️🥺
Sounds like it's pooping
