It's doubly uncomfortable to watch when you remember what 9S used to be like: a bit childish, and quite lovable. Losing 2B as well as everything he's ever known has turned him into a vengeance-driven and rather suicidal machine, and you hear that in his voice and his demeanor. I think seeing him go nuts feels even more significant here, because its worth remembering that he's an android. You'd think that what's essentially a top-of-the-line robot wouldn't be capable of even emulating insanity, but here he is going batshit for extremely understandable reasons, precisely like an actual human.
I really love the vocal ranges that 9S' voice actor has displayed. He sounds so distraught and depressed at the start of this video, but during the memory scene, he's just so enraged and mad.
Is there weird that I ship Pod 042 and Pod 153? That last conversation between them seemed almost affectionate. Also... It was really sad to hear 210 converse during the battle. For all her coldness, she really did care about 9S as a sort of little brother or son. Will... 2B's operator appear as an enemy as well? I wonder what she'll have to say about her if she is.
I know... she had a very lively and caring personality. In contrast to 210's harsh, big sister nature, she was like a devoted little sister in a sense.
Hey Omega, I came to say that I ADORE your content and that I've been watching you for the longest, since your FE awakening let's play. I've been watching this one since it started and I'm LOVING it so I was wondering how you like it so far?
"Hello, and thank you for choosing tower system services... Have a *GREAT* day" Looks like Emil has some beaurcratic competition with TSS' " "services"
The sad thing is, despite having his memory wiped, Pascal still had traces of residual memories left to remember he used to be referred to as such. Given how unusually human these machines are, I had the feeling that eventually he'd remember what happened regardless, and we'd be back to square one on the "WHY'S THIS HAPPENING TO ME??!" department. So I opted to mercy kill him instead. Seemed only fitting he should go to machine heaven along with the other children, if that's even a thing in this game universe. Though now that I look at this footage and see that he's selling machine parts which are hard to come by, keeping him alive would be beneficial at a gameplay standpoint. Not so much on the moral front though...
Its up to choice at first, but after completing a character's segment it will go to the other one (like you see at the start of the video, didn't had a choice there)

Poor 9S. All he wanted was snuggles and all he received was struggles.
bars
All he needed to do was gice 2b a struggle snuggle
@Alexander Ahmed
"Don't listen to them"
"There's no meaning to anything machines do."
Man, seeing 9S slowly descend into madness was pretty tough to watch. Specially that part where he nearly lost his memories!
Indeed D:
It's not a Yoko Taro game if someone doesn't go insane
MrVince329 true that.

Ultrapyre a tragic love story
Devola: "Our model kinda went nutso at some point in the past. It ended badly." Badly? Thats an understatement. Shit hit the fan.
when "went nutso" translates to creating a _magical black hole_
Went nutso translates to *playing a part of the end of the human race in NieR*
And by going nutso, I mean causing the extinction of your god, and through a long series of events, the death of your soulmate.
@@tempusmars6272 I mean, why blame them? Nier (brother, replicant) was the one who really caused it, no?
@@andrusbgx fair point
27:04 mfw I noticed how the Pods stopped talking... _robotically_ , even using *contractions* O_O
Oddly enough, the Pods are the most emotionally human characters in this game...
"sees 9S stabbing 2B" alright what I just saw now was dark and painful
animeheroful Affirmative, 9S Mental was Dangerously Unstable.
Mission destroy 9S
kill me
I think I'm slowly seeing how Yoko Taro thinks. I'm actually starting to enjoy seeing the despair. It's either that, or I'm slowly turning into Junko.
Neis Pretty sure I'm the only one who got the reference...
Sameen Tajwar
Nah, I did too!
Just means we both played an awesome game aside of NieR Automata. xD
Junko? Sounds like I heard that before...
nah i know it too and your damn right
kamakura kamakura yass queen
Guess now we learn why Operator treated 9S as a little kid....
#notlikethis
welp she always had the air of busy mom thatwas always working but keeping an eye on her son and cares for him
Actually she didn't she was being encouraging and supportive and some what protective😒
@@zerobeys What are you on about? She did want to be a mom, but the mom of 9S' kids lol

"Proporsal: A word of appreciation is appropriate."
This pods sometimes know how to troll poor YoRHa, though 9S would say his thanks anyway.
They said 9S aren't designed for combat.
They said 9S should avoid fighting.
Now we know why ;-;
Oh god, seeing Pascal like that is...so sad...
when you revisit pascal I couldn't help but jump a little when he was selling all of those childrens parts..
*Yooooouuuuuu... heartless son of a bitch.*
Shocked Chaika Well, maybe Pascal doesn't recall their significance. Or perhaps he doesn't want to. He's pretty smart, after all. ;_;
A2 did not want 9S to kill 21O...
"She told me she wanted you to become a good person"...Every time I hear this lines, I'm about to cry.
2B not 210
And 9S can't kill her after that he just lay down there

9s's story is the embodiment of: "When you thought it was going to be easy peasy lemon squeezy but it's actually difficult difficult lemon difficult.
Stressed depressed lemon zest 💯
Good Lord, seeing 9S stabbing 2B in his mind was.....very sad ;-; Watching him delve more and more into insanity breaks my corazone
24:23 You can see a memory of Defeating the D**kless man.
Is it just me, or are even the pods starting to act differently? Their speech seems to be different in a way.
Never mind, the pods themselves answered my question.
That was certainly dark. It's interesting to see that the pods are beginning to speak more colloquially as the game progresses though

not to much. 21O sees Nines as her own son and that's something really sad when you think about it.
tangy tablets I'm pretty sure she's dead when the Bunker's attacked. She was very likable :(
I know... she had a very lively and caring personality. In contrast to 210's harsh, big sister nature, she was like a devoted little sister in a sense.
Mmm. Those are some good bento boxes right there. I especially like the *soul* box.
It's sad to see 9S in an unstable state especially about them memories D; it made me cry ;w;
9S story is veeeeeery dark. I like this.
All it takes is one bad day, to reduce the sanest man alive to lunacy

omg D= 9S really losing it was sad to watch... and that intercom voice sounds so sadistic!
And I thought Evangelion fcked me up

Maybe mercy kill would've preferable for him?

They sure know how to pull on our hearts strings.
HOW IS HIS HEALTH THAT BIG
By chance, does the game switch you between 9s and A2, or was that your choice?
Also, holy crap, both are going down a dark path, huh?
Its up to choice at first, but after completing a character's segment it will go to the other one (like you see at the start of the video, didn't had a choice there)
Huh, neato.
Wow this is a lot of depressing. A LOT .....
as per usual on a Yoko Taro basis
Is it possible to spare Auguste and his little brothers at the end of the fight? It really pains me to see it killed after being repaired
Cherry Black Walk towards the exit
So are you able to switch between A2 and 9S during the 3rd ending, or are you locked into playing as one?
Its up to choice at first, but after completing a character's segment it will go to the other one (like you see at the start of the video,
didn't had a choice there)
16:29 9S GETTİNG RAMPAGE!!!!!!!
yo we got parries
I don't get it. My experience was simply throwing two spears, critting for 30 000 dmg each, and the fight was over.
i'm curious, if you didn't kill the last machine that keep talking 'kill me', what happen?
Fatma nothing happens lol
keep it up
Noice.
edit: I changed my mind.
This is after 9S fell from the crumbling bridge, right?
Christian Vazquez Yup, had to be because Devoul said you know what happened to 2B
would this still have happened if you chose 9s first instead of A2
Lucifer Con Yes, you have to play twice as both in whatever order
A2 kinda cute tho 40:05
i love you
