That kingfisher is a piece of art. Would make a nice gift for your lady friend. Those Japanese style knives are really nice. The actual Japanese knife is insane! Man they don’t mess around do they?!
Katsu has some pieces that are definatly more of a proof of concept or more artwork than function, but some look like solid users as well. A taste of Japanese style in a product made in China so the cost isnt as high as the actual Japanese brands such as RockStead. Thanks for the great vid Jerad and keep making sharp things fun and enjoyable.
Katsu have some really nice designs Really wish they could come out with some more stuff But the stuff they do have is really solid The TK01 especially is very nice for its price Especially for being a Japanese built knife in S35VN
The Katsu ZK02 & ZK01 with zdp189...and their CK01 154cm model which are convex grinds are very unique in todays market... its like a budget rockstead... but I wish they didnt do the friction folder thing and used thumb studs instead...
That Rockstead is knife porn at its finest. I would gladly trade 2000$ worth of knives I bought that just sits in boxes collecting dust bunnies. Which is an argument for just going ahead and getting a Rockstead and refrain from buying another 20 sub100$ budgets. But…it’s fun to get a pkg. So I probably won’t. There..I confessed to dimwittedness. Great Vid J…as is your usual. The one Fella on earth that gets too many pkgs on any given day. Cheers
That Kingfished is more jewelry than EDC. I love GK 01 model with sheepsfoot blade,d2 blade...Its linerlock and beautiful g10 for 78$.Dont know why they dobt have pocket klip but nevermind its great...
They definitely have some right mouth watering pieces and definitely scream Rockstead which can’t be a bad thing, just to let you know I watch a lot of your videos on the TV as they’re more enjoyable on the big screen Jerad only thing is can’t comment on their so I level you a like and then do a session of catch up comments just to make sure it keeps that algorithm working well for you my man. That’s if they don’t remove my comment (Don’t worry I know it’s not you removing my comments it’s someone or RUclips doing it) which is a shame as it is affecting your and other channels I watch algorithms. So if the Tactical person is still playing games you’re only hurting people who you claim to respect like Jerad ! So just leave it out for their sake !!! Is it just me or is that ZK series just a straight up copy of the higo? I wouldn’t even say similar like neeves said. Imo that’s a almost 1 to 1 copy 🤔
so i have the standard version $30 from japan and it’s garbage …. basically japan wanted to un weaponize knives and if it didn’t have the government approved makers mark then you will be in violation so you could not thin the blade and they tried to make it basically impossible to use as a weapon so it was thick and narrow and they cut out the handle behind the tang so the blade would stop against the inside of the handle to dull the blade and it would open too wide and there’s no detente and there was a lot of blade play which are all problems you could fix yourself with a little elbow grease but that would draw attention, it was suspicious. so if this was the only legal knife to carry in a knife culture it meant that everyone had one. this version looks awesome, like a japanese wet dream. i love penknife blades and awharncliffe and it looks like they had a baby here.
I'd skip Katsu Knife. Their shipping is horrendous and they will attempt to dodge responsibility for lost shipments. Untrustworthy communications from their CS, the listings on their site says "this many" people are looking at this product right now, totally false. Just watch for red flags with this company, all I'm saying.

I want the ZK02 but that convex grind while beautiful is scary when I think about sharpening it.
You can just sharpen it like a regular knife, just put am edge bevel on it they come with a micro bevel
