@GollumFromMordor I know he is really on one. I met him in line at a concession stand at an SLS event like 4 years ago, and he was as cool as they come. Super hyped, humble, kind, and just genuinely happy to be there. A few people in line were talking to him, and he just couldn't have been more awesome. I have a lot of respect for Ryan. Legendary dude. 😅

man, I will never forget that time I went to one of the second street leagues in chicago and Nyjah ollied over that high barrier that prevents people from getting onto the course and he did it so casual, it was really cool to see. something that will never leave my mind.

Nyjah is successful and has reached unparalleled heights with his skills but damn those shorts have taken him back so much in terms of his credibility with "core" skaters. I think it also limits him on the way we perceive his style. He would have won SOTY every year with a different getup...it's a bold choice for sure.
I hear ya, but I kind of share Gifted Haters' perspective on Nyjah. I don't want him to change for me. I can make fun of his short shorts and still accept him and his style as it is. It would be pretty boring if he checked all the boxes, and he wouldn't be the Jah!
100% I agree authentic skate culture was based on acceptance and individual expression so it's ironic that he's caught so much flack for his particular choice of accoutrement@@fullyfb3847
