Shopping. Everyone does it, not everyone likes it. But behind the shopping for clothes are different processes that are often invisible to us. In addition to production and cultivation of raw materials, recycling is also an important aspect. Textile sorting is part of this recycling process and crucial in the clothing industry for several reasons.
But there is a big issue with this process: Textile sorting is currently still very labor-intensive, error-prone, and inefficient. And this is where startup Redivivum comes in: “Our idea is simple yet impactful: To automate garment evaluation and sorting processes, addressing critical challenges such as labor shortages, inefficiencies, and the increasing volumes of textile waste. We are on a mission to revolutionize the textile industry through our innovative automation solutions.”
The two founders, Szilvia and Aron have not only diverse backgrounds in engineering, software development, and sustainability but are also united by a shared vision of driving positive change in the textile industry. As one of 8 startups in the 7-month startup accelerator program, Redivivum appreciated the most all the resources and support from the community, as well as the access to mentorship sessions, like the one with Fernando. “Such a piece of advice you can’t find in a textbook!”
