Scott is a cocktail of crass humor, brutal honesty, and millionaire advice. He spent ten years wanting to write a book, and when he finally did, everything he learned could be summed up into two words: Be fearless.
So buckle up - because today, you’re going to learn how to write fearlessly.
In this episode, we break down the nitty-gritty mechanics of fearless writing: how to create intimacy with your reader, how to craft a narrative, how to share bold opinions, how to use humor as a weapon, and most importantly, how to write from conversation. (This is one of our favorite concepts we teach in Write of Passage. Your best ideas don’t come from typing; they come from talking.)
Put simply, Scott is the king of strong opinions, loosely held. And that’s why his writing resonates. If you want to be bold and fearless in your writing, then this episode is for you.

Everybody has an opinion about Scott Galloway.
You can agree or disagree with him, but you can't ignore him. This episode is a deep dive into how he tells stories and develops his narratives.
His mantras for life and writing:
    1. The specific crowds out the general: Find a specific niche, and own it.
    2. If somebody's telling you to follow your passion, it probably means they're already rich (and chances are, they made their millions doing something much more boring than what they're telling you to do).
    3. If you want to be an entrepreneur, learn how to tell great stories.
    4. Entrepreneur is a synonym for salesperson, and salesperson is a synonym for storyteller.
    5. Scott's formula for building presentations: Find a central thesis, add a machine gun of data, and make it funny.
    6. Making people feel something will take you farther than any business insight.
    7. Narratives move the world: PR is a $100 billion industry, and Amazon employs 1,900 PR and communications professionals, almost 2x the number of journalists employed by Jeff Bezos' newspaper, The Washington Post.
    8. Recipe for gaining attention: Be the person who says what everybody's thinking, but afraid to actually say.
    9. Another one: Look for controversial topics where you have an interesting take... and think you're right.
    10. The void Scott's trying to fill is being a man in his mid-50s who's openly vulnerable with his emotions and the challenges of life.
    11. Different mediums create different kinds of connections with fans. Video creates excitement; writing creates depth, and podcasting creates the feeling of friendship. If somebody comes up to Scott and high-fives him, they saw a video; if they write a long letter, they read something he wrote; and if somebody talks to him like they know him, they've listened to a podcast.
    12. Invest in your relationships: The more unconditional love you feel, the more openly you can speak.

Would love it if instead of just saying "I have economic security", Prof G would give some insights as to how he got economic security.
Born into it? Privilege? Got lucky?
