The reference is to the 1917 offensive at Passchendaele
(the modern spelling is Passendale)
After the Somme of 1916
(with the Motörhead song that Sabaton did a cover of recently)
Passchendaele was one of the bloodiest and most futile campaigns.
It is also called the Third Battle of Ypres.
Ypres was (and still is a town in Western Belgium)
and the before and after WW1 pictures are horrendous
It and Passchendaele were flattened
including their medieval cloth hall etc.

The world had seen wars close to the great war in history but the technologies invented before the great war made it more quickly devastating for all sides

Great reaction to a interesting Sabaton Song, they are certainly not shy to question why and show that war is not the "glorious" thing some wax poetic over
I liked how the chorus were dressed in all different uniforms.
I love this song. Must say a Sabaton Concert looks amazing. Likely my entire nervous system would short circuit seeing them live but it might be worth it.
I agree that Sabaton could help the USA so very much since their entire education system is like Swiss Cheese. Tasty but you could drive a tank through the holes.

I know you were looking for a new sabaton concert to listen to they have the whole polish woodstock festival(40:1 and uprising live) on DVD and Someones uploaded the full thing on to youtube with some band interviews inside it. at around 1:35:00 they even start singing the polish national anthem for them just after Uprising.

1916 needs to me next. Be sure and watch the end. It tells you how many men lives were lost in just 3 miles and a town's men were wipe out. They lied about their age so they could fight. Love 1916 official video.
A masterpiece as always for Sabaton! I appreciate them trying to point out the horrors of war in this way. At the same time, in this way, they point out that if humanity wants to win by eternal killing, then we should stop wars for good.

Since you have "dipped your toes" into both their music and the history channel and liked both, I was wondering if youd check out their vlogs.

They don't really do "documentaries" for their DVD's like Nightwish etc. instead they release same kind of material on their youtube channel in (usually) smaller bits. I do think Sabaton's vlog quality is extremely good especially for the last few tours/years:
