    Great video! What I loved...factory jack and block of wood, pipe breaker bar, wood block and carpenters hammer. It shows me that you are a real person; doing a project and just wanted to share. I will say the spring compressor did keep me puckered when you took it out. Great Job!! Make some more!!!

      I'm what they call a "shadetree mechanic". Yes those compressors are spooky especially when bought at Harbor Freight!

    Yeah I'm running 32 inch tires on my 2016(KL) Latitude 4x4 V6. I used Rancho 2 inch block lift and Eibach 2 inch lift springs and Bilstien shocks. it gives me a 4 inch lift. I probably can go to 34 inch tires but I like the travel. Also I did cut the inner body seam welds since they really stick out. It gets a lot of looks now.

    When this car came out, I kept hearing from people that the car was unliftable because the suspension setup was too sensitive and it would be complicated. Now I find out that lifting a Cherokee is as simple as putting in spacers. What I would like to know is what engineering problem were these other guys encountering that caused them to declare the Cherokee unliftable?

    • @MarkFerdinandAuthor
      @MarkFerdinandAuthor  7 лет назад +2

      Maybe they were setting their sights too high. Too much over a little one-inch lift and there are issues with alignment and strain on components like CV joints.

    I know this video is older... but I`m hoping you still see this or anyone else that has done this lift. How bad did your gas mileage change after the lift?

    • @MarkFerdinandAuthor

      It changed by maybe a couple mpg

    • @busadude6114

    Love the video I’m about to put a hazard sky lift in my AD1. My only question is did the lift move you rear wheel forward in the wheel well after the lift? I’m debating weather or not I need to purchase the hazard sky wheel centering kit when I order my lift from them. Thanks!

    • @MarkFerdinandAuthor
      @MarkFerdinandAuthor  6 лет назад

      Yes I used the HS Ad1 lift and it only moved the wheel forward slightly. With the tires I bought I needed to pull the plastic wheel liner back a bit and trim some plastic off but that was easy. I show that in another video.

      I bought the Hazard Sky lift kit. Around $75 i believe from their web site. Comes with the spacers and new bolts. I bought the AD1 version that they sell.

      The noise is not noticeable for me. But I also used to drive a noisy old cherokee and Wrangler so the increase could never be as loud as that was.

    Just one question: what is the wheel rim widht? 7" or 7.5"? If 7" how did you be able to mount 245 widht tyres?

    • @MarkFerdinandAuthor

      These are the stock wheels so whatever the width is on those. I had slight rubbing that I fixed in another video.

    • @MarkFerdinandAuthor

    What does KL stand for?

    • @MarkFerdinandAuthor
      @MarkFerdinandAuthor  4 года назад

      Those are letters that designate this version of Cherokee from the one's previous and any major changes that may be created in the future in order to differentiate Cherokee designs and versions. They are code letters and I don't believe they stand for anything. Example is the previous version of the Cherokee was the XJ that has little resemblance to this version.

      Mark Ferdinand what are all the tools needed

    • @MarkFerdinandAuthor
      @MarkFerdinandAuthor  7 лет назад +1

      I used 2 jacks and 2 jack stands. Good set of mechanic's tools. 18mm, 19mm sockets and the E14 socket. 12mm drill bit. 1/2 inch drill. Torque wrench. Wood blocks. MacPherson Strut Spring Compressors if you want, but I hear they can be omitted if the lower control arm and sway bar link are disconnected. I did a writeup on my Blogger page that may help. Link is on my channel's About page.

    No point if you're not going off roading in a TRAILHAWK. Just sayin🤷

    • @MarkFerdinandAuthor
      @MarkFerdinandAuthor  Год назад +1

      Don't say Just sayin. Men shouldn't say that. It is not a trailhawk and it goes off road often. It is for getting to hunting and fishing areas off road where more clearance is beneficial. That kind of offroading.
