Great video! What I loved...factory jack and block of wood, pipe breaker bar, wood block and carpenters hammer. It shows me that you are a real person; doing a project and just wanted to share. I will say the spring compressor did keep me puckered when you took it out. Great Job!! Make some more!!!
Yeah I'm running 32 inch tires on my 2016(KL) Latitude 4x4 V6. I used Rancho 2 inch block lift and Eibach 2 inch lift springs and Bilstien shocks. it gives me a 4 inch lift. I probably can go to 34 inch tires but I like the travel. Also I did cut the inner body seam welds since they really stick out. It gets a lot of looks now.
When this car came out, I kept hearing from people that the car was unliftable because the suspension setup was too sensitive and it would be complicated. Now I find out that lifting a Cherokee is as simple as putting in spacers. What I would like to know is what engineering problem were these other guys encountering that caused them to declare the Cherokee unliftable?
Maybe they were setting their sights too high. Too much over a little one-inch lift and there are issues with alignment and strain on components like CV joints.
HELLO i like how are you modifying your jeep that is something that i am doing right now with mine, i also have a jeep altitude 4x4 2015 is exactly the same just the year and i am guiding by your videos. GREAT VIDEOS!
I know this video is older... but I`m hoping you still see this or anyone else that has done this lift. How bad did your gas mileage change after the lift?
Love the video I’m about to put a hazard sky lift in my AD1. My only question is did the lift move you rear wheel forward in the wheel well after the lift? I’m debating weather or not I need to purchase the hazard sky wheel centering kit when I order my lift from them. Thanks!
Yes I used the HS Ad1 lift and it only moved the wheel forward slightly. With the tires I bought I needed to pull the plastic wheel liner back a bit and trim some plastic off but that was easy. I show that in another video.
I bought the Hazard Sky lift kit. Around $75 i believe from their web site. Comes with the spacers and new bolts. I bought the AD1 version that they sell.
I actually just did a rough country 2” lift pretty similar to this.. recorded a video of the install and realized I can’t find anywhere where it mentions torque specs for either of those
I believe it was this link but contact them with questions about your specific Cherokee so you order the correct version for your tire needs. hazardskydirect.com/collections/kl-cherokee/products/kl-cherokee-lift-kit
Those are letters that designate this version of Cherokee from the one's previous and any major changes that may be created in the future in order to differentiate Cherokee designs and versions. They are code letters and I don't believe they stand for anything. Example is the previous version of the Cherokee was the XJ that has little resemblance to this version.
I used 2 jacks and 2 jack stands. Good set of mechanic's tools. 18mm, 19mm sockets and the E14 socket. 12mm drill bit. 1/2 inch drill. Torque wrench. Wood blocks. MacPherson Strut Spring Compressors if you want, but I hear they can be omitted if the lower control arm and sway bar link are disconnected. I did a writeup on my Blogger page that may help. Link is on my channel's About page.
Don't say Just sayin. Men shouldn't say that. It is not a trailhawk and it goes off road often. It is for getting to hunting and fishing areas off road where more clearance is beneficial. That kind of offroading.

I'm what they call a "shadetree mechanic". Yes those compressors are spooky especially when bought at Harbor Freight!

Any pictures? Sounds pretty dope I just bought a 16’ 75th edition.
Which Bilstein shocks and is the travel on them the same?

GREAT VIDEOS!
Thanks for the nice words Roy. Where do you live?
Why it worth just lifting an inch? Great tutorial!
Larger tires for looks and a tiny bit more clearance Clarence.
I know this video is older... but I`m hoping you still see this or anyone else that has done this lift. How bad did your gas mileage change after the lift?
It changed by maybe a couple mpg
I'm getting maybe 19 city and 24 hwy with 32 inch tires. not bad at all.

Я думал только наши колхозят такие кольца. Ну теперь шаровые менять будет в два раза чаще.
What ball?
I cant believe you are trusting this scissor jack.
Scissor jack in addition to 2 jack stands. It's fine.
I have a 2017 Cherokee, what kind of suspension lift did you get?
I got the Hazard Sky lift
I'm impressed ,,,can you do it for me? please...
after all train tire is there any noise issue ?
thanks so much,,
The noise is not noticeable for me. But I also used to drive a noisy old cherokee and Wrangler so the increase could never be as loud as that was.
Just one question: what is the wheel rim widht? 7" or 7.5"? If 7" how did you be able to mount 245 widht tyres?
These are the stock wheels so whatever the width is on those. I had slight rubbing that I fixed in another video.
Is this something I could install on my 2016 Jeep Cherokee latitude fwd?
I believe the lift works the same way for fwd models.
Mark Ferdinand Thank you! What kind of lift are you using? And where did you buy it?
Hazard Sky lift for the Cherokee. Off their web site and they are good at answering questions you may have.
Thanks for the videos! Looking into getting the hazard sky lift and some ko2's. Do you think 245/65/R17 would work on a stock AD1 before the lift?
I have same year. Make and model and yes I have 245 65 17 open country at2 with stock suspension.
@@OCruz-vc5vr do you have any rubbing at all? Even when you turn?
How much did you torque the rear control arms to? Also the front top sway link bolt ?
I don't have a number for either of those unfortunately.
I actually just did a rough country 2” lift pretty similar to this.. recorded a video of the install and realized I can’t find anywhere where it mentions torque specs for either of those
I know I tightened the hell out of it, if that helps. ;-)
How was the rubbing with new tires
I had rubbing in the back that I remedied by tightening the plastic hub liner in the back. I have a video on how I did that with zip ties.
Hay bro did you get those?
Could you post a link to the spacers/kit you used?
I believe it was this link but contact them with questions about your specific Cherokee so you order the correct version for your tire needs.

@@MarkFerdinandAuthor Thanks for the info.
Did u have to drill a whole new hole are just make it bigger
There is an existing hole that just needs to be enlarged to accept the bolt hardware.
Mark Ferdinand what are all the tools needed

Mark Ferdinand thanks for the help
You got it. Hope your install goes well!
No point if you're not going off roading in a TRAILHAWK. Just sayin🤷
