    I think people didnt like a lot this album vocally because she wasnt basically breathing upper belts like 4

    • @taytaybeynippy486
      @taytaybeynippy486  6 лет назад +14

      Exactly that's besides the fact that she was rapping for almost 40% to 50% of this album/era so it was a shock to those that were specially enthusiastic over her vocals. I will say that I think that all her belts on the album whether they were mid or upper ones sound much more resonant then they did during any of her other era's including 4.

    • @chantoya17
      @chantoya17 6 лет назад +16

      which I don't understand lol. Beyoncé is not just any old high belter, she's quite a versatile vocalist. I love 4 but the self-titled era is probably her most vocally creative, which is saying a lot because her vocals have always been her main musical/creative imprint since a young age.

    • @taytaybeynippy486
      @taytaybeynippy486  6 лет назад +7

      MICO Lemonade was artistically undeniable but it definitely had so many missed opportunities for better vocal inflections. There were so many songs that could've stood allot more then that narrative type of singing that she used especially on songs like Love Drought, Pray You Catch Me, and even Daddy Lessons but she made up for that song with the remix which I enjoyed greatly. But I wasn't a fan at all of many of her choices vocally during that album she just seemed so restrained for an Era were her voice was beyond capable of doing more.

      I don't think so because in order for that to be correct the D3s in the song would have to C#3s and that is impossible because the live version also has D3s and F#3s all over it.

    • @eagles_s
      @eagles_s 6 лет назад

      TayTay BeyNippy Theres nothing educational here. Just Fanaticism. For something to be of educational value it needs to be put in context with other subjects and somewhat unbiased. Anyone can use fancy vocabulary, but how does it relate in a context of theory?

    • @taytaybeynippy486
      @taytaybeynippy486  6 лет назад +5

      Your cognitive dissonance seems challenged trying to comprehend the very simple context of the video which isn't explaining the entire theory of vocal pedagogy. Because if you're uneducated in that aspect then merely blaming a video that requires you to have at the very least an at most simplistic understanding of a scale is dense in the gloomiest manner. There is absolutely no bias in trying to discern the amount of notes a singer is able to hit relative to the range set within a grand piano and more often then not it's the most objective thing any instrument player can do regardless of being a pedagogue or not. No where in the title does it suggest that the video presents a full analysis of her voice or an in depth analogy between the notes and those attempted in a more accurate comportment. But rather a showcase of a very simple aspect of it which is her "capacity" hence the word range in the title. And last but certainly not least your timidity in apprehending simple vocabulary is in no shape, form, or manner the standard measurement of what a Sesquipedalian, multi-syllabic or in your description "a person using fancy vocabulary" is. Either read a book to understand or ask a question prior to trying to critique a subject in which it's aim might not even include educating to begin with.

    • @eagles_s
      @eagles_s 6 лет назад

      @@taytaybeynippy486 Ok. Fine. I just feel that anyone who is either a true fan or a study of music does not and should not need to know what pitch Beyonce is singing to discern she is gifted and able vocalist. That should be obvious. Knowing what tones shes singing is not germaine (Or Michael) in reaching that conclusion. For example, do you ever see a video of Jimi Hendrix playing guitar with every note hes playing at the exact time? No...unless its an instructional video and that would be displayed using Tabs or musical notation. It is of no value for myself to know what pitch a singer is sounding unless im attempting to learn a tune. Considering 98% of the Earths Populatuon could not posess the talent talent that Mrs. Knowles does thats unlikely to have any value to them either.

    • @taytaybeynippy486
      @taytaybeynippy486  6 лет назад +3

      Well this comment would've been a much better replacement for the the main one which was in all honesty condescending, and was of no value or beneficial substance to anyone. And my response to your point is it might not be of any use discerning a vocalist's notes when the objective is finding which manner does a certain passage relate to a certain musical theory "because in that case keys, harmonies and layers must be taken into accountability". As for not finding any analysis for the likes of Jimi Hendrix. Well that would be attributed to the fact that while playing an instrument takes an astounding level of comprehension and hard work it's not particularly uncanny when compared to some being able to replicate that into their own vocal structure hence why "in my personal opinion" it's less impressive to discern the amount of notes a guitar player or a piano player can play. But to those with the objective to know what are the depths an heights a vocalist was willing to reach in a certain song and how far was the capacity of their voice allowing them to challenge their tessitura while still maintaining neutral gloats, great breath support, a steady vibrato and an etiquette tonal quality and so on so forth. It can come in handy especially since those are components used in evaluating the level of mastery a vocalist can possess relative to their superiors or peers may they be in the classical realm or the contemporary realm. Beyonce is indeed unbearably virtuous when it comes to being a vocalist but there are areas where she fails in that others don't and areas she exceeds where others fail and this video and the likes while only being a meek fraction of her knowledge and talent is a decent subject to use in an analogy.

      Yeah I know I included every song she released between the years of 2013 to early 2015 "that I know of". Because that was the era of the album. I did that with every vocal range video I've done to this point.

  • @workitout80
    @workitout80 6 лет назад +1

    Well I didn't like this musically, and I think it's far from over looked, it's actually widely overrated. The only track I really love is "Superpower" and that alone says I'm not looking for belting all over a record (and I love such songs as "I Miss You", "Satellites", "Disappear"..). I don't even like the way she sings, this is when she started to push to mimic a determined sound or trendy vocal style on certain songs. 4 is a MUCH better record, both musically and vocally.

    • @taytaybeynippy486
      @taytaybeynippy486  6 лет назад +7

      workitout80 I agree that 4 was widely diverse in the vocal department and way more then this album could dream of reaching. But I do find a few of the belts on this album much more relaxed and the resonance is quite evident while in 4 she sort of had a gritty sound that was beautiful but also tended to make her sound a bit thinner to me especially on C#5s and Eb5s in comparison to this album but even that was rare. I'm still chosing 4 over this album any day of the week. But I can see now that this is full of great vocal moment which is why I said that it was overlooked ot as full body of work but vocally that is.

    • @Gameworks1407
      @Gameworks1407 6 лет назад +3

      workitout80 I love the lows and head voice here infinitely better than 4. But vocally 4 is undeniable, I care and Love on Top alone destroy. Also she sounded much more determined on 4 than here, so I don't know what you're saying.
